I don't have a problem with a 15-seed seeing its name on Selection Sunday - that's a pretty cool event for a lot of schools. But Virginia getting a 4 seed? I can't think there was much drama there so much as looking at who was in the bracket

Agreed. I wouldn't mind the camera going to the schools that are on a first four in, first four out, and next four out to see those reactions. I suspect some of those reactions by schools who did not make it would be as worse than those from schools who did make it are good.

Working from home is great. Working from home during the first week of the tourney is the absolute best though.

I might not pick another upset this entire tournament, but at least I got that one.

This is close to the greatest sporting moment of my life.
Maybe the Braves winning the world series when I was 12.

Plus he missed a couple of key FTs in the last minute. Feel bad for him even though I didn't think they'd win.

Missouri's coach was Emmanuel Lewis's body double, right?

I had that Furman upset of Virginia picked at least (even though I rushed getting my bracket out this morning and forgot to fill in two first round games.

I know that Virginia player made a terrible play but also worth mentioning that it was incredible defense by Furman and that guy hit a huge shot to win it.

If all these upsets keep happening, pretty soon the power conferences are going to get together and kick out all the other conferences from March Madness.

Don't they have a proposal to increase tournament participation to at least 1/4th of all eligible teams in each division, in nearly all sports?

I put a bit too much faith in the Big 10, I think. Shaky. If Indiana and Purdue underperform, I'm sunk for sure.

I appreciated the fact that the last 2 games weren't close so I could get to bed before midnight. Tonight's games can go 7 OTs, however.

Yeah, I got home from a high school baseball game around 9:30 and checked the scores. I was like, OK, I can go to bed And feel like I'm not missing much.

Also got to watch a kid hit a homer over the 30 foot left field wall in the minor league park. Can't imagine how cool that would have been when I was in high school.

Let me help you out here. Years of watching my dad pick his alma mater to do decent, only to watch it always destroy his bracket - well, just don't pick Arizona.

I'll post part of what I posted somewhere else this morning:

Quote:
Losing in the first round to double digit seeds is a tradition there.

Lute Olson

1992: lose to 14 seed (as a 3)

1993: lost to 15 seed (as a 2)

1995: lose to 12 seed (as a 5)

1999: lose to 13 seed (as a 4)

2004: lose to 08 seed (as a 9)

2007: lose to 09 seed (as a 8)

Sean Miller

2016: lose to 11 seed (as a 6)

2018: lose to 13 seed (as a 4)

Tommy Lloyd

2023: lose to 15 seed (as a 2)

The only single-digit seeds they haven't lost in the first round as are a 1 and 7. The 1 is only a matter of time.
