Hm, well I stand corrected then.
I think it would be shocking if the Bucs chose someone other than Stephen Jackson here. |

Not what I heard. I think it is actually a "lottery" situation where the draft order from this year will weigh the number of "balls" a team gets. |

that would make SD very intelligent. Giants would like incredibly stupid, moreso then normal.

I wonder what is taking the Bucs so long... I mean, they gotta take Jackson here, don't they?

They don't have to take Jackson, they're probably considering a DT or LB... maybe even a WR

Interesting... ANOTHER WR. The the Bucs are once again going to be struggling with the running game.

I'm not crazy about that pick. But now the WR's are just flying off the board.

Alright, it's time for the 49ers front office to screw up some more.

Not so Isiddiqui. There's a number of similarly ranked RBs that will be available in the second round for example. However, Jackson seemed like a perfect fit for Gruden's offense, so I'm pretty surprised.

Clayton goes to Tampa. Nice. The more WRs picked in the first round, the more other players slip towards the top of the second where the Lions wait with two early picks...

I just don't think the RBs that will be available in the 2nd round will be nearly as good. This isn't a good draft for RBs... while WRs are everywhere.

yup. Things are going great for those at the top of round 2/bottom of round 1 for teams who weren't looking for a WR there. |

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/6452668 "Here's how it worked: The NFL would pull names out of a hat to determine the draft order. They would then go down the list, offering each team the chance to make a selection. A team got the chance every round to make its pick. If a team made a pick, they had to forfeit a pick in the subsequent draft -- the bigger draft with the college players. Sometimes, rounds would go by where nobody made a pick. Sometimes the entire draft would go by without a player being picked. Nowadays it still works the same way, but instead of pulling names out of a hat, the NFL uses the previous year's draft order. The Bengals will get the first chance to pick someone from this year's pool." this article is talking about last year's supplemental draft hence the Bengals talk... |

Looks like Philly is getting San Fran's pick to take Jackson before Denver can get him.

Damn Niners better get something of value out of this trade. I was hoping to get one of the 3 D-lineman that were left.

Yep... San Fran is probably thinking they can get Woods down further.
San Fran gets Philly's 2nd round pick... which is a pretty good deal. Not a fleecing like Detroit did to Cleveland, but good.

I wonder if the Patriots will take Stephen Jackson if he's still there at 21. I would, even with that trade for Dillon.

Wow... Jackson is dropping and dropping. Perhaps Dallas is his destination, or would Parcells like the bigger Jones?

I'm surprised both of the top DEs are still on the board. I thought at least one was rumored to go in the top 10.

Wouldn't it be a coup if the Lions could package their 2nd rounders to trade up for Jones?

Schmidty brought this up a while back. It would be excellent if they could package some picks and get Jones or Jackson. I think they would want to keep at least one of their second rounders. |

Finally...anyone else surprised Will Smith lasted this long? Saints fans are probably pretty happy now, I'd imagine.

Heh I'm checking the board late, just have to say, I'm very excited about Taylor going to the 'Skins! Great pick for a defense that needs a lot of shoring up.

So question...if the niners don't get Woods at 26, does that make it a bad trade?
Personally, I think that it's a really tough call to pass up on Will Smith. I really liked him (and Berman is officially an ass...'Will Smith is truly a man in black'), but the idea of a second round pick is pretty good as well. We need players.

Woods is sick...I'd take him over Reggie Williams even. Seems to have a better work ethic and attitude...whereas Reggie has gotten by on pure athleticism, and seems to be a problem child.
