Amazingly, I came across this video today, and I must say that this game, minus player movements/graphics/etc is still light years ahead of where Madden is today, especially in regards to the offseason. Granted, this game didn't have a built in salary structure (at least I don't think), but I figured some of you all would remember it!

If pretty solid is defined as a completely crap Player Career mode, catchup logic that still exists, a challenge system that is useless as the results of the challenges are always coin flips that seem to have nothing to do with what the actual replay shows, still no coach mode, no way to feel like you are part of an actual football season, another game that pushes micro transactions instead of included content, etc...

yeah, they nailed it....

It's a solid MADDEN. Not necessarily a solid football game. We're wayyyyyy past that.

It's funny reading through this thread. People were saying they were waiting for the next gen (PS4, Xbox One) versions of the game because the current generation had been so underwhelming. Fast forward to 2019, and Madden has been a bust for another hardware generation. What a load of crap, EA.

Edit: I was only looking at this to see about the viability of using NCAA 2014 and importing drafts into Madden 25 as an alternative to picking up Madden 20 with its middling reviews.

I thought Madden 19 was the best it has ever been. To each his own, I guess.

Yeah, I got a lot more play out of Madden 19 than I have the last couple of NBA 2Ks combined.
