Strange weekend for Ninth Circle. Rip wins the pole, then gets caught up in one of the two accidents of the day to drop to 34th. That DNF is enough to drop him out of Chase position. Meanwhile, Helen has a terrible day, qualifying 39th of 40, but bridles her aggression and collects the first win of her career, vaulting herself into the Chase.

What looked like a strong day for Snow Motorsports fell apart at the end as Aemon went for the win only to come up short due to a late race caution. Chris Snow and the tide ride simply can't seem to pull themselves out of teh muck this season.

Race #7 - Aaron's 499 Results

As always Talladega provided a lot of excitement in the way of 82 lead changes. But for once the driver who led the most laps, was actually the driver leading at the end. Fox McCloud picked up his first win by holding off Lautaro Tesar and Deacon Palmer. Andrew Foley and Dan Schoonover rounded out the top 5. Points leader Trick Dickle finished last after dropping out on lap 41.

ToPaw Racing is a little upset with the teams finish in Talladega but we can not be upset with a 2nd and 4th place ranking in points right now.

I'd take 14th and 20th over 25th and 31st!

Two top tens at Talladega for Sixteen Colors - I'll take it!

We've been improving lately, so hopefully we've had more bad luck than bad build.

PF Racing isn't doing much better, Render. I am shocked by my first top 5 FINALLY for Andrew. Other than that, it's been nothing but crap all year.

After the stat changes in the offseason Dexter has been racing much better this seasonm, currently sitting in 5th. Hopefully he and the #63 team can keep this up. The switch to Cyber Rams Racing has done us wonders.

Also, Johnny Sanders will enter into the Indianapolis 500. The youngster may be overmatched but it will be good experience for him.

Race #8 - Martinsville Results

Chris Snow took the pole and led the races first 41 laps but didn't find his way to the lead again and finished 3rd. Trick Dickle, Cannon Pace and Queen Kong took turns throughout the middle of the race as the dominant car of the moment before Dexter Jackson took the lead and led 105 laps en route to the win. Cash Bradley finished second followed by Chris Snow, Queen Kong and rookie Alex Donovan. Late Model drivers Derrick Pace and Lew Sifford finished 15th and 22nd respectively.

Standings after Race #8

Trick Dickle clings to a 6 point lead over Bo Duke. Dexter Jackson moves to 3rd following his win. Ace Idol sits in 4th and Cannon Pace jumps 4 spots to 5th. Avery Thomas, Nick Harold, Alejandro Murrieta, Nick Phillips and Patrick Hutt round out the drivers in the Chase as we stand now. Helen Wheels and Mustafa Henderson hold the two wild card spots.

Two more top 15 finishes (#10 for Wade and #12 for Doug) show that Sixteen Colors racing appears to be getting things in order in their first year.

We now have both drivers in the top 25. Pretty good when they were both spending time in the bottom 5 for awhile.

Eight starts and a season best 5 top ten finishes for the General Lee. I'm beginning to wonder if it's the car and not he driver. Bo is sitting nice at #2 in the Chase. I think his win is just a matter of time, and his consistent showing is really keeping the pressure on everyone else.

As for the 02 car, we made a little progress. By that I mean, we finished the race.

We perform for shit for 7 races then put in a gem at Martinsville. A track I'm notoriously horrible at.

Two unacceptable performances in a row. Time for the Dickle to start kicking some butts in the garage and get this team focused again...

Race #9 - Brickyard 400 Results

Luke Duke held off a tough challenge from Avery Thomas down the stretch to take the win in the Brickyard 400. 11 cautions left only 21 cars running and Luke took advantage. Thomas was followed by David Gonzalez, Nick Harold and Ches O'Peake.

Despite not finishing, Trick Dickle continues to lead as Bo Duke didn't finish as well. Ace Idol moves to 2nd followed by Duke, Cannon Pace and Avery Thomas. David Gonzalez moves into the Top 10. Wild card drivers currently are Luke Duke and Mustafa Henderson.

Luke gets the first win of his career, and the second win for Dixieland. Tough day for the 01 car, and a missed chance to take over the overall points lead. The team is in fire position heading toward the end of the year. Feels good to get the win at Brickyard, the car must have really been rocking to get the win on the super speedway.

Frustrating that Rip takes the pole and finishes as the last car on the lead lap. Helen records yet another DNF and now is the unlucky one -- the third-ranked driver outside the Top 10 to have a win.

If both Rip and Helen had average finishing positions that matched their average starting positions, I think they'd be 8th and 11th instead of 23rd and 20th.
