There is a Chinese spy balloon flying over Montana right now. It is hovering over some of the US most secret facilities. https://twitter.com/washingtonpost/s...RWW3rafHg&s=09

I’d still bring it down, who knows what goodies we’ll find.

Pentagon tracking suspected Chinese spy balloon over the US | CNN Politics
Quote:
The US is tracking a suspected Chinese high-altitude surveillance balloon over the continental United States, a senior defense official said on Thursday.

The Pentagon has been tracking the balloon for several days as it made its way over the northern United States, Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder said.
Quote:
“Why not shoot it down? We have to do the risk-reward here,” the official said. “So the first question is, does it pose a threat, a physical kinetic threat, to individuals in the United States in the US homeland? Our assessment is it does not. Does it pose a threat to civilian aviation? Our assessment is it does not. Does it pose a significantly enhanced threat on the intelligence side? Our best assessment right now is that it does not. So given that profile, we assess the risk of downing it, even if the probability is low in a sparsely populated area of the debris falling and hurting someone or damaging property, that it wasn’t worth it.”

This could be a "trial balloon" for something more later, quite literally.

As someone who never really liked Seinfeld (the show, not the comedian), that the AI version of it was called "Nothing, Forever" kindof tickled my funny bone.

And when we get "AI-Generated Twitch Seinfeld program is suspended after going on transphobic rant", well, that feels like it could be in the running for "Most 2023 Headline".

Between AI art and ChatGPT hitting the mainstream, we're going to look back at 2022 as monumental in some way, as the dawn of "modern AI', when it went from not being able to identify stoplights to "hey, this could really upend a lot of things". Jury is still out as to whether it will be good or bad, though, considering humans and how society is constructed right now, I'm guessing bad.

Apparently it put an inordinate amount of reliance on Michael Richards' comedy routine in formulating the show.

'Human skin' jackets available to order online for $720: 'Gory and sick'
Quote:
A jacket made of “human flesh” can be had for just $720 — and fashionistas are fawning over the custom-made gory garments.

The creepy coats can be ordered online via the eBay account The Flesh Krafter and take about three weeks to make, according to Jam Press.

The seller — who has not disclosed his real name — says his coats are only made to resemble human flesh and are not actually comprised of the real thing.

I feel like this story could go in any number of different threads for the separate topics it touches on.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/tennessee-...ry?id=99830209

One, she went to a dark web site called "Online Killers Market." I know it's the dark web, but that just seems ridiculous to me. Was ACME Hired Killers already taken?

Two, if you're in a relationship and plan to move out of state to marry someone else, best not stay on Match.com or continue seeing someone else. Perhaps there's more to that part of the story since this lady turned into a crazy stalker, but that's the condensed version of the story, anyway.

Three, those of us who use Strava are telling people where to find us to murder us. For me, though, since 99.9% of my runs are on a treadmill using iFit where my posted locations are various spots all over the world while I run in place in my Kentucky basement, the joke's on my hired killer!

Four, if you're gonna have someone killed, perhaps don't threaten them with death in person and through continuous harrassing calls and damage their cars. Kinda narrows down the suspects - even if they die by "accident." It's not like the guy's not gonna tell LE to check out the crazy stalker just in case it wasn't really an accident.

WTF? I thought it was a joke considering the source but also reported on msn.com

Teachers fed up with 11-year-old kids wearing diapers to school
Quote:
If your kid knows how to play on an iPad, they should know how to use the loo.

Teachers in Switzerland are complaining about too many students wearing diapers in class because they don’t know how to use the toilet.

“Kids are going to school as early as 4 years old now, so yeah, you might actually find some still in diapers,” Dagmar Rösler, head of the Swiss Federation of Teachers, told Swiss newspaper 20 Minuten.

“When 11-year-olds come to school in diapers, that’s a worrying trend.”

Many tots have become so accustomed to wearing diapers that they lose interest in transitioning out of the convenient but unsanitary method.

The average age to potty train children is between 18 months and 24 months, according to Mayo Clinic, but many parents seem to be avoiding the training session.

“Some parents let it slide because diapers are a convenient relief. It’s not seen as a problem these days,” said educational scientist Margrit Stamm. “That sends a totally wrong message.”

Apparently there is a lion running around (on the edge of) Berlin.

German police search for a lion suspected to be on the loose on the edge of Berlin | AP News

Might yet turn out to be a large Lynx (and personally to me it kinda looked more like a Puma, which obviously would be as misplaced as a lion), especially since private keeping of big cats isn't exactly rampant and no one official is short a lion.

Strange.

My first walkies! Japanese man who bought £12,000 dog costume finally goes outside... and immediately makes some canine friends as he settles into his new life as a collie | Daily Mail Online
Quote:
A dog lover who has achieved internet fame for his desire to 'become an animal' has taken his first steps outside dressed head to toe in a bespoke collie costume worth more than £12,000.

Known only as Toco, the man spent two million Yen - which equates to £12,480 - on a lifelike costume to fulfil his lifelong fantasy of 'becoming an animal'.

In some of his most recent updates to his almost 30,000 YouTube subscribers, Toco was seen playing in his backyard - on all fours - and attempting to perform tricks in exchange for fake dog food.

It does act somewhat human-like in the video.

Chinese zoo denies its sun bears are people in costume | CNN

And for you guys that question why anyone would think it could be a fake ...

Quote:
It might sound like an implausible gambit. But zoos in China have courted public ridicule in the past for trying to pass off pets like dogs as wild animals.

In 2013, a city zoo in the central Henan province angered visitors by trying to pass off a Tibetan Mastiff dog as a lion. Visitors who had approached the enclosure expressed shock when they heard the “lion” bark.

Visitors at another Chinese zoo, in Sichuan province, were shocked to discover a golden retriever sitting in a cage labeled as an African lion enclosure.
