Of note Oratory only earned 7 points, so
NTNDeacon or Barkeep must be black and affected by the event. Does the event affect both days? |

OK Here is what I came up with.
Since the mission looks key, and may even guarantee our conversion today or ease the burden in other camps, we shouldn't abandon it. --There are a couple of things I'm wondering about race. Is the race affect from the event still in place tomorrow, or have the workers recovered? Does the event impact workers on a mission? As for a work plan; For Food Dist. We let EF and Lathum stick with it. That gives us six points, unless there has been a conversion coupled with an Arrest, we will be golden here. Think of it as two cleared players moreso than two specialists. This would work even if they were only x1 folks. for Glad Handling: Clap and Heinz work here. That gives us six points, but we're susceptible to a double move (False work and an arrest). for Oratory; We assign PB and Daddy Torgo here. That gives us six points, but we're susceptible to a double move (False work and an arrest). Now for Backups: We can gamble against double moves on both of those, or on just one of those needs. If we double stop both of them, three x1s on each, then we are left with one person for the mission. That option should be out, unless we send me, 'cause I'm good with the ladies =)... No, really this one should be out. If we gamble against a double move on both of the 3 point needs, then we're in great shape for the mission. We'd be betting that none of the four uncleared specialists are wolves, or that the wolves would "give" us the camp. Although, gambling and losing would presumably identify a wolf. My take is that we backstop Oratory or Glad Handing with three cleared voters. That's Rum, Norm, and Barkeep--If he isn't the black orator from today. If BK is the black orator, then IF someone else was cleared tonight, we should assign them here. We can't split the backstop, or it will not cover a double move. This would look like Food: EF and Lathum GladHanding: Clap and JeHeinz Oratory: PB and Daddy Torgo with Rum, Norm, and Barkeep(?) in support Mission: Glengoyne, USFL, Render, Danny, and NTNDeacon. That gives us three to five points to the mission. Three if the race event affects mission labor. :Note: I made my first WW spreadsheet, so I had to share. :second note: It's pretty darn late, and I hope I have completely bagged this thing. |

Looks good Glen, only thing I would debate is whether its better to back up PB and DT or Clap and Jeheinz.

I am hoping we can either catch or clear PB with this scan as that will tell us wear to go next. If PB gets cleared then I think we have solid direction with our votes. If PB is bad then we can lynch him and then everyone will likely lynch me which won't help the village, but at least we would have caught a wolf first.

This is a good plan, but I have a way to save us a few points...I happen to have food. (recently given to me) If I use that then food distribution is an automatic success. |

Yes I was referring to your mission move, which seemed to have been the start of the actual case against you. Votes then accumulated as you were an alternative to dubb.

I like Glen's work. I don't think we need to backstop Food Distribution, regardless of this thing with ntn.

This probably wasn't the popular pick for a scan last night, but something about the way the votes went off last night made me think a sympathizer had to be voting to lynch dubb. I scanned jeheinz72 and got Labor.
I'm also willing to bump ntn up a bit on the trusted scale. That should narrow it down a bit more. |

I woke up this morning thinking that per the comments of whoever it was after deadline last night, if the vote was villager/villager yesterday but the wolves kept one of their own in reserve until late in the day if i was that wolf i would have skipped the vote - much like ntn did. and now his comment about "having found food" that will make the food distribution a total success - does anyone else find that troubling?
Perhaps it'd be way too out-there for a wolf and would expose them though - and i can't figure why they'd want to do that unless they have good numbers and really want to stop us from completing this mission... those are the two schools of thought pinging around in my head. WORK ON ORATORY |

wolves pass toys all the time to gain trust. not saying that NTN is a wolf... just that you cant read a whole lot from it. I hope you can use it to protect yourself from a lynch tonight

because there are items that could be useful to my role as a villager, so if he lists what he has, i could pick several and have them passed to me (in order to keep the wolves confused about what i want), keep what i want, and pass the rest back

On Sept 2, 1912 – Martial Law is declared for the first time in WV by Governor Glasscock after the national guard and Baldwin-Felts Detectives are failing to end the strikes, and grand juries are refusing to indict miners. On the day he declared martial law, Governor Glasscock set up a military commission run through the National Guard that would avoid the courts. A company sympathizer and member of the national guard, George Wallace, was appointed the Judge Advocate. Trials were held in secret, transcripts were sealed, as were outcomes. The Governor approved the commission to sanction anything they felt appropriate even the death penalty. (And said that in a public statement). Numerous miners were arrested, summarily sentenced to long prison terms, for things such as protesting, swearing, and protecting women and children who were being beaten by the National Guard and Baldwin-Felts detectives by pulling them back. The system was appealed to the State Supreme Court which upheld the legality of the system.

When Martial Law was declared, it was the first time in the state that it was used. Between the military commission that handled striking miners, and the gun-thugs brought in, and even the Supreme Court of West Virginia upholding the commission, it felt as though the company was bringing the weight of the whole country down on the miners.
From sheriffs to governors, from courts to the military, from media to thugs, the companies had it covered. Companies didn't have to respect the law. No one charged them for issuing scrip even though it had been illegal since the 1890s. No one arrested gun-thugs and sympathizers for beating miners. And, of course, the military commission focused only on miners, not on the crimes committed by companies and their allies. King Coal lived in West Virginia. When Governor Glasscock declared martial law, it was the darkest days of the Mine Wars. Not just striking miners were affected, but other West Virginians too. The Mine Wars had bled out from the hollows and creeks and into the mountains and the valleys; the streets and fields. The event - Gov. Glasscock declares Martial Law has occurred. Tonight, Night Six, no member of Labor may take an action unless they get a pm from me telling them they can. PMs have already been sent, so if you are Labor, and you didn't get one, you have to sit tight tonight.

Norm's curveball in scan choice made his set up of me that I quoted in 2433 just threw him for a big time loop I think. |

The mission and voting/working are not Night actions, nor do they get processed with the Night actions. That is what I am referring to when I say all Night Six actions by labor are out, except maybe one or two here and there.

Abe, are these things triggering randomly or are we doing something to bring them about?
On a side note, my wife, the history teacher, loves all the background you're giving. She actually may try to play this game with her classes in the fall when they do unions. |

Let me know if you want this changed, but that's what I'm assigned to, as far as I can tell. Oh, and are there any events that actually benefit the miners? It would be rather nice, instead of having everything break against us.

Interesting turn of events last night. A lousy night kill, or whatever you want to call it. Now this martial law probably means no scan. The biggest question is this triggered event. Was it triggered by the sympathisers?
If it was, does that mean they can't get someone thrown in jail? We obviously can't plan for that. I still need to get a better update for the vote rundown that I posted last night, it seems that the information I took from Jackal's posts had missed a couple votes. I guess I should have known better than to trust a wolf. I'll try to post an update with the scan results on it later. Unfortunately one of the solid CoT members is now gone. CoT TheNorm - solid Barkeep49 - solid EagleFan - I know solid but you don't so there is threat of conversion from night 4 on Lathum - cunning possible or threat of conversion from night 2 on heinz72 - currently only cunning possible I am a little confused by a post I saw earlier that had me as the lowest possible level among the "cleared". There is no chance of me being the cunning and conversion is only possible from night 4 later. I would think Lathum should be the one on the lower end as he still has cunning as a possibility plus could have been converted anywhere from night 2 on. jeheinz only has cunning possible at this point so he should be elevated above Lathum and probably even above me (in the eyes of the village that is). |

The man who appealed the military commission case to the Supreme Court, Frank Nantz, was shot and killed by a coal company employee.

Has this been asked?
Was the Poli kill a wolf initiated event? The answer may be key. If it was a wolf triggered event than we can probably rule out conversion. If it was not, we cannot rule out conversion and should probably expect it at this point. |
