I didn't vote for Mrs. S because it looked like she was going to get lynched already, and I don't really feel that NTN is a wolf, so rather than put a tie on someone I don't think is a wolf and possibly have them get lynched, I tried to get a 3rd candidate going.

I can't really get that to add up. If you thought Mrs S was going to get lynched anyway, what's the point of trying to start up a third candidate. If you're basing your vote on them not having checked in (which is all you've got to go on for either Mrs S or Telle) then I can't see a reason to try and split the no-show vote. Particularly if you feel that NTN isn't a wolf. If you really have any reason to think NTN isn't a wolf (ie have a degree of feeling above the base 75-80% chance he isn't a wolf) then you should be voting for Mrs S to make sure he doesn't get lynched.

My degree of feeling that he isn't a wolf is that high. I thought Mrs. S was going to by lynched, so I wanted to vote for a 3rd party and see if that would start up some discussion. I got my wish, and it did, unfortunately I started up the discussion on myself.

Well, that's the Strangeness I meant actually. Multiple people jabbed at me for doing that strategy, including you and then lo and behold, like 3/4ths of the votes go to people on that list. Still catching up though, so I have no idea how much I should actually toot toot here. |

I'm curious as to why I only get a fair bit of trust compared to path and PF. I made a solid vote to make it 2-2-1 when I could've gone 3-1-1 or 2-1-1-1. Realistically for the village if one things NTN is villager than I made the ideal vote. Oh, and the whole fact that I championed the whole voting for non-check-in people in the face of criticism. |

I know its the strategy in the beginning just because there is nothing else to go off of and I don't particularily like it. I fell victim to it once and had to spend the rest of the game defending myself because I couldn't be around on day 1 because some unforeseen event came up. Given that, that is why I still voted for Telle. Figured most people were voting that way anyways. (has to be a more interesting starting point somewhere.. just haven't found it yet since most 1st day kills are either people not checking in or people successful in previous WW games, but that is a discussion for another thread...)

I've always used not checking in as a basis for my day 1 vote. But I'm on record as hating day 1's anyhow. I think most times it ends up between two villagers who are parsing too carefully.

you are all enjoying the city of your choice, when subbenly your sight is clouded and your brain fills with powerfull images.
Somewhere there is a dual. The majestic sight of the golden gate bridge looks like an observer in the background. Suddenly the image comes into focus. Saldana's sword moves with the gracefull flow like water, slashing blows at Telle. She counters his attacks and swoops in. Saldana nimbly steps aside and twirls, the punk tail of his overcaot spinning behind him, almost in slow motion. Telle overbalances and in one swift arc saldanas arm shoots down, his sword not even an extension, almost a pert of him. The blade slices Telles head off in one swift motion. Purpleish-blue lighting scatters everywhere and absorbs into saldana. He collaps exausted, yet more powerfull looking. You are all stunned, as you look are Rameriz lying headless on the ground. |

Ok, so Saldana killed Telle, and Telle was Ramirez, our bodyguard.

just as soon as your sight clears another vision appears. This time it is a back alley behing the imposing figure of the abondaned texas stadium.
JeHeinze and Narcizo are locked in a fierce battle. Rain is pouring down as streaks of lighting accent there sword blades. hmm, you think to yourself. I just checked the Dallas weather, only a 60% chance of rain. Narcizo takes advantage of a momentery laspe in Heinze's concentration and strikes a blow to the side of his head, heainze stumbles back, dazed. Narcizo swoops in for the kill but Heinz was faking. Heinze leaps forward, supprisingly quick for a big guy, and thrusts his sword through narcizos stomach. Graps his face and throws him to the ground. Pulls him up by his hair and sends the blade of his sword throug his neck. As with Saldana, Heinze absorbs lighting all into his body, and seems to grow larger. Narcizo was a highlander. |

Well I guess it's a good thing I didn't start a run on Telle at the end then. Was she inactive or did she submit night actions?

man we're going to all off each other real quick in this game. i think there can't be more than like 2 wolves because of that. i think even 3 to start might have been too much - so maybe we're down to just one?

Those of you who haven't dueled or survived your duel arrive in New York, same as last week.
You all discuss the duels that you witnessed. Ranirez will be missed, he was a mentor to many of you. There is a silver lining however, it seems the wolves did not strike. Day 2 has begun. PM's going out now. Deadline 8:00 PM EST. |

Telle did not submit a night action and her random city chosen put her in the same city as saldana. The circumstanced were right for a duel. Which she lost.
I am posting this info because I don't think it would be fair for saldana to ssuffer the speculation that it may have been a BG block gone wrong. |

Kind of what I was starting to wonder. Not sure of the non wolf kill. Either - A. A name wasn't submitted B. Wolfs can't kill when engaged in a duel C. Ramirez blocked it D. Wolfs can only kill when in the same city as their intended victim

I'd also add E. There is some sort of cap on kills per night Frankly that was my thought going into the night, that there has to be some sort of preventative measure against something like 5 villager deaths in the same night. |

Reason I ask this, is because maybe (and it'd be tricky) we rig the locations of everyone each night. I don't know if it's in the villages best interest to have all of these duels where we lose people ala Telle our BG and Narc, a strong player. We could send one person each to 8 cities and then have our least trusted folks all head to the 9th city and let God sort 'em out. We'd get the benefit of a wolf possibly losing a duel and we'd possibly minimize our self-carnage. |

But I used some as well in order to win the duel, as did he to participate in it. So I'm at 30 minus what I used plus what he didn't use. |

I thought I would make a quick post as to explain my inactivity. I apologized already to Lathum and my fellow wolfies, but just so the group knows, our daughter was pretty sick over the weekend and into yesterday - running a high fever and such. I was pretty focused on her and also working late and going in early, so honestly, I flaked. Sorry to my fellow WWers. I usually am a nighttime poster, but not inactive in votes and night action etc.
Hope to see you guys next game! |

That was my least likely option given the # of cities. If you have 5 people left and 1 wolf, makes it harder on the wolf to win actually. I'd agree with the option E though (cap limit). With 15 people (I think it was 15 people left last night), you have the potential for 7 duels which would be alot.
