Not me, not even someone that close to me, but impactful nonetheless.

The guy who lives 2 doors down, who volunteered multiple weekends for the HOA to run a bobcat and during our park rehabilitation and saved the HOA somewhere in the range of 60k, who found out that he and his wife were expecting number 3 just a few weeks ago, as a sort of oops, but they were happy all the same, was diagnosed with S4 Colon Cancer. It was completely out of the blue for him and his family. No other symptoms really, no history of illness.

I can only sympathize by putting myself in his shoes and knowing just how hard this must be for his family. Very rough. Fuck Cancer.

Sorry H_B, to see that your brother lost his battle. Sending you all the love man. <3

It's been a rough year for my neighbor. I saw him at Halloween and chatted for a few minutes. He was struggling. His wife shared with us today that the last week has been brutal for him. He enrolled himself in home hospice last night and she's asked for space and peace. Just awful.

My time to hop onto this...I am always about Fuck Cancer but, the tri-fecta hit..

Co-Worker, great guy, 34 years old, 2 yr old girl and an amazing girlfriend. Diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer - Was given 6 months as it has spread into liver, bone and lungs.

Great friend from growing up, she was in the neighborhood I grew up in, known her since elementary school. Just diagnosed with Stage 4 - it's everywhere in her system.

Then the final, my wife's cousin just passed from Stage 4 Breast Cancer, the kicker is, 33 years old, non-verbal autism, couldn't tell anyone she was sick, didn't understand what was happening to her, just slowly withered away over the past month.

Fuck Cancer - Fuck it majorly

I don't know how many of you follow my Swim Like A Champion dynasty, but one of the boys that was part of Bear's State Champion Relay 5 years ago just lost his dad to cancer today. This is a family we are really fond of. Though the boys swam out of different pools, at all the meets they would sit together on deck and we would sit with the parents. The father was diagnosed with some sort of oral cancer that a dentist noticed, not long after I was diagnosed. He fought it for over a year and was given a clean bill of health. Unfortunately, his most recent scan (less than 10 weeks ago) found cancer in other places including his pancreas.

On my birthday the other day I went to a dermatologist because I found some new and itchy moles. Got everything checked over and freezeburned off the new moles but they were fine.

I hope each of you goes to have your moles and stuff checked as I don't want to lose you.

For sure. My Dad gets this cancer all the time. Has had his ear rebuilt and part of his nose. He gets moles dug out probably 4 or 5 times a year. And they dig deep to get them.

I will be finding a dermatologist one day.

I felt lumps on my breasts a few months ago and decided to get them checked, as they weren't going away. I was in a car accident about a year ago, and hoped the lumps I felt had to do with that. I'm 45 years old, so it could be, or it couldn't, hard to say. I went, got a digital mammogram and luckily, it was fat necrosis... the aftermath of the car accident.

Guys, we're getting older now. Lets get ourselves checked. Guys encourage your ladies get their tatas checked.

Was kinda easy for me. During my yearly physical, my doctor was looking them over anyway and she asked at the end if there was anything else I noted I wanted to mention and I said that I had new moles on my face between my eye and nose that were itchy. And I'd been picking at them. So she looked them over and recommended a dermatologist and gave me a reference. Had been meaning to do that anyway since I've never had moles checked. So I called the reference and they set me up an apooitments for four months away. Which is INSANE. When I finally had the apooiiutnement I asked about that. He said there is a shortage of dermatorgigists and that doctors send their patienets to them when they don't need to.

WHich was kinda snooty really

Anyway he freezeblasted my moles and they are blisters now and scabbed off.

But he said none of them were precancerous.

One, fuck cancer, even for him.

My mom called me the other day, and shared the news of a doctor's visit. They thought there was something strange on one of her lungs, and they wanted to do a follow up. She had been a smoker for 25 years, quitting around 20 years ago. She went in for a CAT scan, and the good news was that her lungs checked out clear. The bad news was that they found a growth on her pancreas.

That is a horrible thing to hear, and pancreatic cancer is one of the worst and most aggressive ones. They haven't done the biopsy, so no official diagnosis yet. I did feel a bit better when I read that 80% of tumors on the pancreas are non-malignant. And it is less than 3cm, so meaning if it is they caught it early.
