With the change in the Bill guarenteeing its approval and becoming law, I think we should re-think our support and slurry moves.
Districts are some of the most important items here, as they control voting on bills, would it not be best to weaken their most centrist congressman and strengthen our man on the other side of the border? In case they're really trying to take dwn hienz I would suggest slurrying henry hard and supporting myself ust as hard, if they succeed I will be stronger than henry and should maintain control over heinz district. If they fail or do not attempt it, we still have a stronger member of congress and possible presidential candidate in myself down the line. While henry is weakened and heinz has a better chance of taking over henry's spot if we can get rid of him at some point. Does that make any sense or am I utterly out of the political loop here? |

Yeah but I come up like roses as far as my constituents for supporting them over partisan lines.

Bill confirmed.
Last call on slurry/support options. Right now I'm thinking Slurry Henry and all 3 supports for one of our two bill supporters |

Good job guys for fixing the bill while I was gone. My availability is going to be much more consistent from here on in. Kudos all around. And I agree with your vote for speaker, heinz.

How about this for a future bill -- maybe not for tomorrow, but later on -- a second half seer, maybe an every other day scan, or someone that has taken votes, or something limiting. If we do it in the future we might can get away with it.
I also think we need to take the seer broadcasts on death rider to one of our future bills, just in case, but that's me. |

So I was at work today trying to think of some bills and I could only really think of one.
It would be something like "Media Access Act" where the media would gain more access to Congress. The positive of this is that when the wolves kill someone there is a % chance that their identity will be revealed. The negative is that anything that could count negatively towards your popularity would be increased due to the increased media presence. Or something like that.

Also I was thinking of possible wolves, and Kwhit came to mind. The way he kept trying to point out that we should look at whoever wrote our "failed" bill as a possible wolf kind of came off as a little suspicious.

Based on my pm it sounds like people will be approached by special interest groups, and this kind of thing could possibly be negative to the public. I could be totally wrong though.
So we could introdue a bill along the lines of the Media Access Act where Congress would install security cameras or something, and if a wolf kills someone there is a % chance they will be captured. But this would also increase the likelihood a congressman would be caught in an inappropriate situation.

To be fair, if our bill hadn't been able to be changed and it got killed by CR I'd totally have voted for Pass tomorrow. |

There's just something shaky about a couple of those guys to me. They whined and complained about how our seer was too good and now they're talking about two BGs and all this other stuff that is even more strong. I think our original bill would have been fine, but it was worth it to tone it down just to get the Dems to be quiet. I wish I could figure out what the heck they were thinking over there.

I had to leave for work early this morning and chose someone in the middle in case I didn't get home in time to cast a more discussed and researched vote. I ended up coming home, glancing at the boards and then crashing for a few hours. I generally post and read more on the boards at night. I do have the next 2 days off though and can be more active then. As it is I'm almost caught up on the posts. |

I can understand that, and tried to respond to KWhit's post in this thread. I didn't feel like doing that in public, but I did also tell Lathum that it was my fault the bill was too strong. I guess we can look at the silver lining -- the Dems probably wanted to have more of them vote against the bill, but couldn't let it fail. Apologies, though, to those of you who missed a chance to vote FOR the bill on our side. |

FTR, I asked CR about our original bill, and he said it was too much -- otherwise I wouldn't have rewritten it. It was also his suggestion to just get rid of the chance to kill immediately, which I think was the less powerful clause, anyway. |

Does it make any sense to target KWhit instead? Right now illinifan is ahead in the polls (I think), KWhit is last in popularity. Claphamsa is our least popular member.

Tyrith's Day 2 Bill Proposal -
Witness, assigned to a random non-wolf, once per night follow someone around and see what they do. I don't have any ideas for an extra trick to give this guy -- we could attach a seer rider or something, but I'm open. |

We probably want to go ahead and win the election. If PF gets crushed in the election it will probably hurt his popularity significantly. And if they're like us none of them are in threat of getting booted today - clap voted like Barack Obama and he's still fine in the middle of Iowa, so I can't imagine any of them are in bad shape. |

The least popular congressmen are all Democrats, so its actually possible that some of them are in trouble.
Also I suspect that NOT voting doesn't affect your popularity - so our least popular members (claphamsa, for example) may want to consider abstaining from any votes today. |

There's no reason for clap to not just vote for our conservative bills and vote against the liberal ones. It was just the vote in favor of the BG bill that was a mistake yesterday.

Am I correct in thinking each party gets only 1 bill per day?

Let Chubby introduce brothers. We need to introduce something horribly partisan so that we can vote for it and keep our reputations going. Neither Chubby nor KWhit is going to introduce something as far to the right as a witness bill. |

Plus, I think in general they are just as concerned about catching wolves as we are. So since the witness is the next most powerful role we could aim for, we'll get support. Frankly, I'd bet that they'll have their 4 or 5 most middle-of-the-road guys supporting it.
