I'm really starting to love Yellen. Hate to see Fabian out though.

Yedlin is going to be a hell of the player for the US, he reminds me a lot of Aaron Lennon when he first came up with Tottenham. Electrifying speed and once he improves the technical aspects of his game he will be a real threat down the wings.

Bradley seems to finally be getting into the flow of the games. He's had some solid play up front in the last 5-10 minutes.

Is he one of the fastest players in the tournament? He seems to have a good IQ as well for as raw and young as he is. I hope he goes to Europe soon and doesn't stay in the MLS.

Needs some competent teammates to take advantage of his skills.

So far so good once the first five minutes past.

Game has been fairly free flowing thus far. Interested to see if either team tighten up in the second half.

Well, at least if we're ranking the US's quality games, this is slotted solidly into #2 behind the Portugal game. Still a little lucky Belgium can't find the last pass.

Tottenham anybody? How cool would it be to see him and Lennon on opposite sides of the pitch, or both playing the right side and working the overlap.

There's just something about watching the U.S. that makes me feel like we only just sorta know what we're doing out there (compared to other int'l sides).

Is it just me?

This side is definitely built more on scrappiness vs. technical brilliance.

This has me a little worried. However, I think the US has looked good so far. The chances have been a little scary. But, considering Belgium should probably be killing us on possession, I'd argue we're doing better than I expect. Honestly, I think it's been a good game for the US so far and I don't quite get the announcers.

Yeah, I'd definitely say American teams have typically been lacking in the fluency/creativity that you need to make something out of nothing. They don't take a backseat to that many teams athletically.

The first goal we scored against Portugal (forget who scored it, was one of the German-born players) was very atypical for an American goal in that it was an audacious attempt from outside the box rather than someone making the "easy play" by trying to cross it into the center.

Belgium has won uglily all its game late in regulation so far. Earliest they score was the 70th minute.

I can't believe those possession numbers. 51/49? Feels more like 65/35.

Belgium is just peppering us this half. Jurgen needs to find a spark off the bench.

Hate this feeling, the feeling of waiting for Belgium to break through. First half there were small moments of hope but they have been playing really poorly this second half.

The shots was a bigger worry: with relatively even possession, the shots/on target numbers should not be 20/14 to one side and 3/2 to the other
