Will USC get its fifth title, or will UTSA get their second in a row. I wish we could broadcast our games...

Awesome!
Julio, I'm on vacation the next 5 days, so the next 3 days I have wide open availability with preference for a day game. Are you available during the day time any of the next 3 days? |

Damn...we lose to a CPU Ohio State team.
It was not without drama. We were down 47-21 with only 3 minutes to go. Nothing was working offensively. When our starting QB got hurt and suddenly things were different. Straight down for a score 47-29 (after the 2pt conversion) Then a 3 and out stop by our D (our first of the day) Right down the field and its 47-37. We recover the onside kick and just as quick its 47-44. They recovered the onside kick and despite the 3 and out were able to hit a 57 yard FG to go up 50-44. We are driving right back down the field with just under a minute to go. Then with 23 seconds and the ball on the 38 yard line after a long completion. Our backup QB is injured. The 3rd string QB hits the TE but he is stopped on the 6 yard line with 18 seconds to go. Then I went brain dead. I decided to run an option play instead of try and pass it because....well because I am a dumbass. But its wide open everyone kills the dive man the only edge defender is bearing down on the QB and all we have to do is pitch it to the wr to walk in. Only he pitches it about 12 yards over his head the defense recovers and kneels it out. We lose 50-44. |

How about 12:15 eastern time tomorrow? I can also do early in the morning if that works better? For morning start, I would need by 9. I have an errand at 11.

We are having difficulty getting our game to start. We had 4 or so resets before kickoff. We both reset modems (with me accidently unplugging something and then also accidently hitting the power button on my modem which took me a while to figure out.) Now, we can't even get to the coin flip. It is freezing on a picture of the field before the coin flip for me...

I did another system reset and now the EA servers are listed as unavailable. Maybe they were glitching and they are rebooting them. I will back at 10:30 to try again if you want to give it another try then.

Ugh. I win the coin toss and it isn't even letting me pick. It is picking for me and saying I lost connection. I read certain formation subs can cause issues.. only other issue I can think of. I only have 1 or 2 formation subs. I will reset them.

Go ahead and finish.. my Xbox shut down. The power supply overheated.
The only reason the game was working is because I switched to generic playbooks anyway.. apparently my custom playbooks were causing the problem. The shitty thing was it wouldn't let me substitute so my scrambling QB was stuck on the bench. I pushed start but nothing would come up. I won the fucking coin toss every single time until that time too.. I think maybe I was just doomed.

Julio told me to finish it out, so I'm going to do so. I just took a 24-7 lead with 30 seconds left in the half and I get the ball to start the 2nd. Our defense seems to really match up well with Julio's guys and play style. Our defense is smothering his receivers for the most part and rattled his QB early. In his defense, his custom playbooks weren't working for this game.
I'm going to go ahead and finish up the game. I'll take it easy on the CPU in the 2nd half (assuming they don't make it too close for comfort.) |

Crazy thing - CPU is giving me more problems with the deep ball than Julio did.. they just scored in that 30 seconds. 24-14!

Haha.. I can't throw the deep ball for shit. The throw is always short for some reason. I don't know if it is something I am doing or what.

Also, you can beat the CPU as bad as you want to. It doesn't matter to me. Just sucks we couldn't play a regular game with all our schemes and stuff intact.

The CPU was running your offense very nicely, but Franklin had an AMAZING leaping one handed interception to stall your offense in the red zone. We lead 38-14 midway in the 3rd.

Julio's team received the kickoff first and we shut them down early with a key running stop on 3rd and 1 (or was it 2?) They punted and our offense marched right down the field with a combo of runs and quick passes and a QB run or two mixed in. We took a quick 7-0 lead.
They responded with a drive that was making some noise until our CB had a great interception of an underthrown deep ball. We marched down the field but stalled inside the redzone and settled for a FG. That gave us a 10-0 lead. We managed to pressure his QB who became rattled and we forced a sack and a 4th and 13. They punted. We moved the ball and made it 17-0. Julio's QB finally got it going and made a few nice plays including breaking two sacks and a nice little run. He marched down the field to make it 17-7 with 3 minutes to go. We tried a methodical drive and wanted to score with 0 time left or as close as possible. We scored with a HB run that was a nice cut back-spin to make it 24-7 with 30 seconds left. Then, Julio lost power The CPU scored on us with 2 plays. A short pass and then a bomb for a TD. 24-14. Ouch. They kicked off with 12 seconds left and our returner took it to the house to make it 31-14 at the half. We got the ball back to start the 2nd half and marched down the field to make it 38-14 on a 3rd TD reception by Culver. UTSA marched down the field but threw a red zone pick on an AMAZING leaping one handed interception by Franklin to end their next drive. We marched right down the field again and made it 45-14. In the 4th, we stepped off the gas and mostly ran it. UTSA had a late nice passing TD to make it 48-21 with 3 minutes to go. We recovered the onside kick and ran out clock with our 3rd string HB. 48-21 win for USC. On the plus side for Julio, his DE got a school record 14th sack against us for a few bonus points of XP.

Ugh. I've noticed that the custom playbooks cause more problems in human vs. human games. Several times I've had missing formations against humans.

Joel Gray capped off his career with his fourth TD of the game, an eighty-yard run where he cut inside of an Alabama defender and was off to the races. Our defense shut out the Tide offense, and their only points came from a scoop-and- score. Indiana wins the Rose Bowl 56-7.

Its cool. I think it would have been a closer game, but I think my guys were overmatched enough athletically that it would have taken some serious bounces to pull off a win even if I was at "full strength" strategically. I wasn't getting them early. That diving catch by your RB (I think it was on 4th down) had me pretty upset. I thought for sure we forced a turnover on downs and then he dives and somehow snags a pass that was headed for the dirt. Meanwhile my slow pocket QB was stuck in there throwing really sloppy throws when I would have been better off with my scrambler, but I thought I'd be able to make that change during the game. I don't think that would have mattered much either, but it would have forced you to think a bit differently about how to defend him. I think the right team won.

I was amazed by that catch by Stewart. I really wish I had moved him to HB his Freshman year instead of playing him at CB his first year. I think if I had, he would be nearly unstoppable as a junior next year. As it is, I'm expecting a big year from him.

We actually were spanking VT and then the computer decided he wanted the game to be close. Que amazing catches RAC's and runs and we have what happened. A close game that wasn't really that close.

Players Leaving - Deadline is 11/24 (Tues) at 11 p.m. EST
Quote:
Looking at the rules, I now realize that I probably should have made rule #3 read: "3. You can't persuade a player to return if their rating is 90 or over." In the interest of full disclosure, I have two players who are rated 90 that are declaring. I am going to post a poll to see how you guys want to handle this. Buffalo They lose QB Jeremy Andrews to a transfer. Poor guy is homesick Florida Atlantic FAU loses CB Chad Garcia, as he is declaring for the draft. Indiana CB Stephen Cohen, SS Justin Stone, and ROLB Chris Washington are thinking about declaring. Kicker Ryan Rouse misses his mommy and is transferring to Rutgers. USC DT Mike Smith, WR Timi Herron, and C Jovon Jones are leaving early for the draft. RT Thomas Gore is thinking about leaving. FS Brian Lewis is transferring to Oregon State. A certain QB who shall remain nameless is returning for his senior year. UTSA Everyone wants to stay. Last edited by Kodos : 11-21-2015 at 02:49 PM. |

Garcia is so frustrating.
I signed him the last year in the old game. He imported as a red shirt freshman. Meaning we only got to see him 2 years. But he was a good one. We wish him well in his career |

A look at our losses:
RS SR DT Joshua Greene - Rated 97 overall. 1st round lock. He had 36 tackles and 11 sacks in a great senior year. 21 sacks in his career. He will be missed. RS JR DT Mike Smith - rated 94 overall and projected to be drafted in the 3rd round. He had 9 tackles and a sack last year and was a valuable player even without the big stats. SR LT Alex Harris - Rated 93 overall and projected to go in the 1st. He only gave up 1 sack all year as he had a stellar year. SR S Jason Dennis - He is a 2 year starter who dominated both years and won the Bednarik and Thorpe this year. He is rated 97 overall and was our rock of the defense. He had 5 interceptions which led the team and also forced a fumble and recovered a fumble. He broke up countless other passes and was one of our leading tacklers with 82. He will be sorely missed. He is a 1st round lock. RS SR HB Barrett Hoffman - He was a load at 6'2 236 and rated 97 overall. He had a stellar game in the NC to end his great career for us. He waited his time and only got Major PT this year. He did well with it with 206 carries for 1420 yards and 16 rushing TD's. He is projected to go in the 2nd round with a 97 rating. JR WR Timi Herron is our surprise departure. He is a 91 rated JR who is a true possession receiver. Doesn't have blazing speed but he has the best hands on our team and was our go to guy when I had to have a few yards on a short pass. As a result, he had 44 catches for 582 yards and 4 TD's this year. For his career, he was remarkably consistent with 3 years of around 40 catches. He had 128 catches for 1688 yards and 10 TD's in his career. He is projected to go in the 5th round. RS Jovon Jones was a guy who I knew would go pro when I got him a few years ago. He is a stud C who is a true workhorse of our OL. He is now rated 96 and will likely be a 6th round pick. JR RS T Thomas Gore was our surprise departure. He is rated 90 overall and has great size. He will go in the 6th round. He gave up 9 sacks last year and I thought he would come back to improve his stock... RS SR WR Jonathan Galloway was our most balanced WR and he became our #1 target down the stretch when we needed a pro's pro route run. He was our best route runner and had good hands and speed. He is rated 90 overall and is projected to go in the 7th round. His 1st years he averaged 48 catches but he nearly doubled that this year with 91 catches for 1459 yards and 15 TD's. He will be sorely missed. CB Jovon Murphy is a SR who is likely to make a squad as an undrafted FA. He is rated 87 overall and had 4 picks this year. LG George Hughes started all year and was our 2nd best pass blocker. HE is rated 87 overall. RG Kevin Rogers is rated 84 overall and is a RS SR who is graduating. He gave up 5 sacks this year. To summarize, we are losing our ENTIRE starting OL. We are also losing our top two WR's, our top HB, our top S, our top two DT's, and our 3rd CB. We also lost a depth guy at S who decided to transfer to Oregon State. A lot of losses to make up for but we have lots of talent coming back too |

Dola -
We also lost both our OC and DC. Will Muschamp left us to become the new coach at Temple. Dan Enos, our OC, got the HC job at ND. Our new DC is a step down from Muschamp, but our new OC looks to be very talented. With the amended rule, I can't convince any of my guys to come back and I'm set to advance. |
