Yeah -- the rules for not voting today are pretty strict, so I wanted to give you a heads-up. Despite that, I probably wouldn't have, except for that you could have checked in over the weekend, but I gave you some leeway since you had asked me what city you're in. So I felt like I might have prevented you from voting by making you unable to check in (even though I didn't tell anyone what city they were in when I sent the PMs, you had to check the main thread). |

Nice railroad job dubb. Gotta be honest, most frustrating day 1 I've sat through. I'm a villager but gd Abe is right, once you finally see I'm villager, I'll feel some damn satisfaction. f-it.

I just don't get how Dubb is so sure here. IMO, the case was iffy before the reveal. While the reveal doesn't help, if PB is the bad runner, I'd think him less likely to reveal.

Oh well, if he is the runner we won't know with 100% certainty if he was a wolf or not until we got our hands on the other runner. Kind of a bummer.

okay i'm on page 3 catching up - let me clear up what went down
i got a PM from pass saying "game on" but it didn't say which city i was in. i went ahead and asked him via IM because I knew I didn't want to go in the wrong thread (and didn't realize it was posted in the main thread). he got back to me...sometime yesterday when I signed back online. I've been offline more than usual this weekend for a variety of reasons. as i said it's patriots day here in Mass, so it's a 3 day weekend, I really wasn't even thinking of it like a Monday and didn't even realize the deadline was today. Went down and watched the marathon (my sister ran it) and just turned my computer on for the first time fortunately to see the warning PM from Pass like "hmm dude you saw my pm? You're in sparta...you better go vote." nothing sinister - not trying to go UTR or anything. I'm catching up, on page 3, so I will resume my normal DT-ish play shortly here. |

Unless Poli was the nightkill I guess. If I'm reading the rules right there is no night phase.

The Spartans decide to lynch PurdueBrad, but he manages to escape. PurdueBrad was a Marathon Runner!
When you wake up the next morning, you realize that Poli is missing. Looking through his things, you learn that Poli was a villager and a Hoplite! Last edited by Passacaglia : 04-20-2009 at 02:30 PM. |

I'm confused as to why it doesn't list a role/alignment for Poli. Also Poli was a very odd nightkill choice if you ask me.

it would appear that roles are not revealed upon death, since the wolves can actually choose to send one of their own to hades

It's basically because the wolves can kill one of their own. I said that if they did that, the wolf would be 'revealed as a villager', but since that meant that everyone would be revealed as a villager, I just went with no reveal at this point. Full role info will be revealed upon death from Hades, however. |

Oh IC Poli was the Hoplite. The fact that he was revealed as a villager is meaningless. 50/50 chance he was a wolf. I'm guessing he wasn't a wolf since I believe PB to be a wolf, but I must admit Poli was a very odd night kill and I wouldn't put it past him to nightkill himself to move into Hades as a "revealed villager."

If PB was the bad runner, I wonder if the remaining wolf would banish himself figuring Sparta is off to a bad start.

I don't think there is any doubt, in my mind atleast, Poli was going to be a huge suspect today. I just can't understand night killing him of all people.

Remember to keep in mind that there is no notification if all of the wolves are removed from the city. At that point, I guess we just keep voting ourselves out? Still, it's more likely that's not the case.

I can't see Athens being given both a wolf bodyguard and an evil seer. Especially considering the starting numbers and the fact we started with 10 to their 9.

I'm guessing with them having 1 roled wolf in the bodyguard, we probably got the roled wolf runner. The evil seer counts as a villager even though he wins with the wolves.

I'm guessing at this point we are looking at 7 villagers with one of them being the evil seer. We are also probably looking at 1 wolf.

Poli is 100% according to what Pass has posted the good bodyguard. According to the rules there will be two, one in each city. One bodyguard will be good and guard against wolf attacks(Poli in Sparta), and one bodyguard will be a wolf and guard against seer scans(IE think cunning, this one has to be in Athens). |

If my post 297 is true, and it is, then that means that of the two roles wolves in the game(bodyguard and runner) one is 100% in Athens. That makes me think we had the other roled wolf. That other one would then have to be PB. Also that means that the real seer has to be in Athens, while the evil seer has to be in Sparta.

I think you had me until there. I think you're making a lot of sense, but combining it with a dogged persuit of PB which is so far unjustified (as to his actually being a wolf). Only catch is, you've now entered the part of it where you're frankly being SO stubborn about it, that I can't believe a wolf would possibly act in such a manner. |
