We beat a salty Duke team with a bunch of recruits in the stands.
Had to start the Fr QB after our 4 year starter was lost last week. He is going to be a dynamic playmaker in time and his footspeed really shined. However he HAS to cut down on the 4 ints. We were lucky to win thanks to a dominant defense. |

If I don't get my game in tonight, it will be in the AM.

We battled Penn State and barely won, with 7 seconds left in the game.

For me, it's more along the lines of, I have to go upstairs, to a complete different room to play now. I have the XBone connected up to the main TV I use, and the 360 is up in a game room with our PS3 for the kids to play. Which means, if I want to play, I have to go upstairs and sit in a room and the GF hates it.

Eh. I have always played my games in a room away from everyone else. Although these days my daughter will sometimes hang out with me while I play.
My wife is fine with it as long as I let her know in advance when I want to play. (I also play most non-human games in the morning on weekends before she wakes up.) Last edited by Kodos : 04-25-2016 at 03:57 PM. |

Im still very much "in to" the game. I am struggling to keep up with when games are.
I seem to vacilate between the last to play each week and the first so its usually a play 2 games in 3 days then not play again for a week or a week and a half. |

I still love this league and am very much into it. I'm having more trouble getting into the American League as I hate to lose and it is killing me that I can't beat the computer most weeks. But, I'm hoping some of my new recruits will amp up my opportunities to win in that league as well.
My schedule is more hectic than ever in my life... I'm back in school for my MBA because my work is paying for it and it opens some opportunities. I also have 2 new puppies. So, I'm busier than ever but still love the game |

Yeah, my next winning season in the American will be my first. Some pretty embarrassing losses along the way... But I'm having fun with the challenge. I recruited much better this season. Hopefully that translates to more success down the road.

Conference Championships - Deadline is 5/2 (Mon) at 11 p.m. EST
#5 UTSA (11-1) at #1 Florida Atlantic (12-0)
#6 USC (11-1) at #2 Indiana (12-0) EF - Your schedule seems trickier than mine, so what days/times work for you? I can't play during the day during the week. Other than that, I can generally play after 9:30 on Weekdays, or in the early morning on the weekend. |

9:30 PM eastern this Wednesday would be my best opportunity to play this week. I can try to figure out another time if that doesn't work for you.

Our game against EF27 and his Trojans started off poorly for us. We had to punt on our first drive, and historically, these games have been real scorefests. Failing to score on our first drive was a bad, bad sign. We quickly found ourselves trailing by 7 when junior All-American RB Jimmy Stewart ran it in from 23 yards out. Our Senior QB James Shuler and the freshman RB Danny Clark marched us down for a score to tie things up. From there, they answered, we answered, they answered, and we answered to make it 21-21 midway through the second quarter. We caught a break when Lawrence Gilmore threw a pick on their next drive late in the half. We turned that into a 28-21 lead on a 6-yard Clark run with 47 seconds left before the break. Gilmore was driving them for the tying score when we picked him off again. A couple of quick passes moved us into position, and Shuler was able to hit our All-American senior receiver James Godfrey as time expired to send us into the half up 35-21. After a dubious start, things were looking up for the Hoosiers.
USC was not going to go quietly. Senior Drew Brown returned the opening kick of the second half 106 yards to cut our lead in half. In response, we pounded the ball down the field with Clark, who eventually ran it in to make it a 42-28 lead. Gilmore found his favorite target Culver again late in the third to cut our lead to 42-35 as we neared the fourth quarter. Clark ran in his 5th TD of the day with 6:19 left in the game to make it a 49-35 advantage for us. After getting eaten up by hook routes to Culver all day, our defense finally made a play as we hauled in our third interception of the day. We went into pound the ball and eat clock mode. Sitting on a 14-point lead, we were content to run down the clock and hit a 20-yard field goal to give us a 52-35 advantage with 2:02 left. USC would need 3 scores to beat us now, and they would have to do it with no timeouts left. They got the first score in 10 seconds, as Gilmore hit Stewart for a 58-yard TD to bring them to within 10, 52-42. We lined up for the onside kick, and we were able to secure the ball. From there, we handed the ball to Clark a few times, chewed up the clock, and secured the win. Good game, EF. I had a very bad feeling in the first half. But turnovers can really swing the momentum. Danny Clark finished the day with 38 carrries for 291 yards and 5 TDs. Shuler hit on 7 of 9 passes for 220 yards and 2 TDs. Hopefully we showed enough to secure a spot in the BCS Championship Game. Good game. I felt good early in the game but you did a great job of forcing interceptions.

I can't really take credit for the first two, but I did have guys waiting in the flats on that last one. We actually dropped a similar interception opportunity a play or two before that. I think it was Rivero who came up with the big play to help us seal it.

Hey EF. I did some research today. Apparently, the home field is YUUUUUUGE in our series. Also, the higher-ranked team has won every time but one.

Injury weirdness.
As Julio and I prepare for our game this morning I was double checking my depth charts and such...you knwo being a good coach when I saw some weirdness. My #2 WR who strained his shoulder in week 2 and has been questionable all season playing in only 4 games is still questionable. My star QB Jason Jones who injured his back and was out for 12 weeks just last week isnt listed on the report at all.... Could that mean? We will soon see. |

Julio wins 24-21 on a last second INT.
He led 24-7 at the half and we came back but too little too late. Good game man |

Jones must have been rusty? Heh.. Damn, what a nail biter. We should have been able to win fairly easily after jumping in front in the first half, but we couldn't sustain a drive in the second half due to turnovers and it nearly undid our early work. A big interception late saved us and we came away with a 24-21 win. Now we sit with fingers crossed, wondering where that will leave us for bowl week.

Likewise. I gotta learn to finish better. That fumble rattled me a bit I think, and it ended up in another one of those "fuck me, this is gonna be too close for comfort" games.

Yeah, seems like injuries don't hold. I think EF's star WR Culver was supposed to be injured, but he played in the conference championship against us.
