In the process of starting an online league with some friends and we're using that set of sliders (with some further tweaking going on right now) along with his roster (that has the QB edits done, yay PS4). So far pretty good results but we're running into an issue trying to balance sacks and QB completion percentage. Nearly have the sack numbers figured out, but completion percentage on our sims is higher than we'd like so still playing around there.

I thinking about starting a player CFM as well. Just trying to figure out what position I want to play. QB is most obvious.. but I'm thinking maybe WR or Safety.

I played a game vs. my son on Monday after buying over the weekend, and the only thing that really seemed out of whack was the number of sacks. But I found that I just needed to audible better line protections as the game went along, and that helped.

I'm sure there are tweaks to be made, but All Pro plays a pretty fun game of football.

Beat the Packers 21-3 at home. Pretty satisfying after they clobbered me earlier in the season. I'm getting Everson Griffen back at RE but have been real happy with Anthony Barr playing the position.

So I think I'm starting to get the hang of it...

Playing Carolina in the snow and I have turned the ball over seven times, six of them INT's and five of those by LB's.

Looks like he's put his project on hold as EA is working on a patch to address the issue of too many sacks. Hopefully it'll be as quick/work as well as the fix for simmed stats.

Eek, there goes any hope of me keeping other QBs off the field with my Vikings....

I had no business winning this game. Came back from 17-7 down to win 21-17. Matt Cassel came in for the second half and saved my ass. Coradelle Patterson did have a punt return for TD.

I am now 6-6 and in second place in the NFC North.

Whats with EA actually seeming to give a shit and support their product? Does it have something to do with the non renewal of exclusivity?

The bad thing for me is.. with NHL 15 coming out soon.. I hope I get some free time to play NCAA and Madden as I know NHL will get most of my console gaming time.

Still having a blast with NCAA too.

How is this game? Just would like an honest review for shelling out for a game involving button mashing.

I'm still a couple weeks of play from being able to give you a full featured review, and I am also playing on the X360, but I haven't bought Madden at launch since 2007 for the original XBox. This Madden is the first I have done that for since then, and it is the best Madden game I have ever played. I've played all of them except Madden 25, because when Madden 25 came out I had just simply given up on the series. The talk here brought me back.

This game seems to be legitimately winning over this board, as well as me personally, and I am swallowing a shit ton of pride when I say that. Hell, look at my sig.

This years Madden feels like it has been worth every penny. It still feels crazy to say that, but it also feels legitimately true in my opinion.

Man, I do love hearing all the good reviews. I'm still not convinced...if only because I've loved some previous versions of Madden for a week or two before, then the half-life suddenly decayed and they bored me to tears. I'm gonna need at least another week of positive chatter before I give in to the yearnings.

I'm hoping it holds up too, I'd love to get an FOFC league started at some point.

I'm not a button masher and I find the on-the-field action great so far. Still an issue with a lack of penalties. I'll see anywhere from zero to four a game on default settings.

Outside of game prep, I don't see much change to franchise mode from last years version. There is an issue with passing stats being too low and sacks being too high. But it seems to be consistent across the board for all teams.

I've already played 16 games in franchise for a game released just over a week ago.

For a quick take I went from no plans to buy to going to buy after playing all of my 6 hour trial with EA access. I'd have bought it already if not for the fact that I just bought Diablo 3 the other week so I want to give that it's due. I already have too big of a backlog going... I'm sure I will pick up Madden soon though.

I just drafted a team I'm pretty excited about seeing how it plays.

Picking with like the #13 or #14 pick or something.

My top 5 picks
1. Megatron
2. A.J. Green
3. Jamal Charles
4. Eric Berry
5. Brandon Mebane

My QB - Johnny Football. Hey...even he can't be that bad with those 2 to throw to, and Charles threatening the run, right?!?!! RIGHT?!?!!?

What was it? I'm so terrible at running the ball now and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Three parts

(1) I think putting the OLine on "Run Blocking" isn't really good/necessary. I didn't pay attention enough to see if it messes with their actual block animations/movements, but when I don't do it my runs end up being better blocked. So that's anecdotal, but there it is. Going to look into that more tonight.

(2) You have to get the timing down on how long it takes your OLine to make their blocks and how fast your RBs move. Yes - it means you may get blown-up in the backfield once or twice as you wait for the blocks, but when you let them get to their blocks you end up with a nice hole.

(3) It's not strictly-speaking necessary to run with two hands on the ball the whole time - it definitely slows you down.

I'm not a running superstar at this point or anything - my jukes are still subpar, but just those tips helped me go from like 2-3 YPC to like 4-6 YPC (small sample size and all, and also was fortunate enough to draft Jamal Charles on that team - although the 20+ yd run was with my 2nd RB actually).

Madden released a tuner update today that reportedly makes the QB sacks much less frequent in played games.

Same guys that were working on a fix for that are doing some edits to the roster that was released today and should be releasing those tonight along with a new set of sliders. They seem really pumped about how the game is playing after the latest update.

On the PS4, I use L2 until I choose the hole to hit. Then turn toward it and blast with R2.

The key on X360 seems to be letting off turbo to cut, then getting right back on it. I'm having great success as a scrambling QB by simply out maneuvering DL and slower LBs.

Trying to fix sacks and they made the game feel "different", I can't quite explain it. But they didn't fix the issue as I sacked Kaepernick seven times in a half in a Play Now game on All-Pro.

The fuck is L2? That was the missing piece in my game - it's totally slowed my guy down so I can actually let the play develop in front of me without running into a dude's ass.

I have 7 carries for 48yds so far in this game.

I believe it is the "Precision Modifier", which decelerates the player so you can make more subtle moves.
