motherfuckers apparently changed the item price while it was in my cart, and suspiciously it was a pain in the ass to get logged in to buy. Not buying it for 17 bucks.

literally every time I log into Steam it's always an ordeal, I don't know what it is. Always use the correct password, yet I always end up having to refresh a bunch of times and reset my password.

If you have a $5 amazon credit from buying a game last year you can get The Walking Dead (Steam key) for $7.49.

It's applied automatically if you have it, so I'm able to click "Buy and download" and check to see if it is applied on the "Review & purchase" screen.

I don't know if there are any One Click Purchase options that would make it so you automatically buy the game by clicking "Buy and download" button though, so you might want to make sure you have that turned off first.

If you made an eligible purchase you should have got an email about a $5 promotional credit, so you could also check your inbox if you haven't deleted anything.

Is it just me, or is going back and forth into the Game Specials, Steam and Video Game threads giving anybody else whiplash?

Crap....got it off Steam this morning. I had a credit too. I guess I wasn't expecting to get it for less than $12.50. Don't know what I was thinking.

Xbox owners if you enjoy Minecraft check out the indie game Xenominer for 80MS points. It is a block builder like Minecraft set in a sci-fi universe, survival based with some neat concepts.

You crash land on a planet and take it from there..

I have a credit, but I don't think I'm going to use it. If anybody wants it, I can buy them the game on Amazon and give them the Steam code and they can Paypal me the $7.49.

PayPal would involve you going to paypal.com, setting up an account, and linking either a credit card or a bank account and then sending a payment to my account.

It might, in retrospect, be easier to just have you gift me a Steam game of equivalent value in exchange for the Steam code I'd get from Amazon for Walking Dead.

Target has Darksiders II PC for $9.99 in store this week only. I picked it up today, it activates on Steam. I couldn't find it online, I assume it's an in store sale only.

edit: It also includes the DLC Argues Tomb

When I hear "old-school RPG action" I think Bard's Tale, Ultima III, Pool of Radiance, and Wasteland, not games from the late 90s.

Guess it's just a matter of perspective

Several games on sale at Best Buy.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star is $19.99

Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 are $14.99 each.

Handful of others, but those were the ones that intrigued me enough to pony up.

+1, that puzzle is probably the first thing that comes into my mind when I think about gaming in the 80s.

Sony is apparently sending out $10 PSN codes to American PSN accounts. I'm not sure what the criteria are (ie if someone creates an account today, will they get one, etc), but if you're American and have either a PS3 or a Vita connected to PSN, couldn't hurt to check your PSN message box.

There was a code in mine.

New Humble Bundle, worth it for picking up Dungeon Defenders + all DLC for $6.

The Humble Bundle with Android 5 (pay what you want and help charity)

Super Hexagon is fun too if you really want to challenge yourself, Solar2 is an enjoyable game as well.

seconded for dungeon defenders, especially when it includes all DLC, as they release a fair bit of DLC along the way. Worth way more than $6 alone.

Yep, complete pack on Steam is usually $49.99 and the DLC on its own is $57.79 (though a lot of it was free when it came out or is on certain holidays).

What good TBS games are out there right now? I have no interest in Civ, but was wondering about others.

How strategy? Do you want a wargame-ish thing like Battle for Wesnoth? A squad tactic strategy like XCom? Or a 4x?

There's an ass-ton of good ones out there right now, but I think we need more information. What kind of genre - fantasy, historical, sci-fi? Do you want something more strategy based or small-squad tactics? Are you looking for a game like MOO, Panzer General, HOMM, XCOM? Single player or multi player?

There's really never been a better time to be a gamer because there are so many choices out there.

I like all genres, but get picky if it is historical (not a fan of most Total War games for example). I likely prefer fantasy, but that's more due to suspension of disbelief.

I'm not looking for MOO or Civ, I've played the 4x game to death.

I'm looking for single player or hot seat (to play with kids). Something like Wesnoth, Combat Mission, or X-Com would be good.

Hmmm...many of my favorites are 4X games and I still find a lot of enjoyment in those. So non 4X TBS strategy games...

Unity of Command - A WWII Panzer-General type game. It has good reviews, though I found it a bit too "puzzley" for me.

King's Bounty - Kind of a modern-day successor to HOMM without the city building. Fun, colorful, good tactical TBS battles with spells! Probably my top recommendation if you've never played one before. There's a bunch in the series and all of 'em are good.

Frozen Synapse - Purely logical and tactical TBS game.

It's more of a 4X, but I still have to throw it out. Eador: Genesis is looks old, ugly and it positively brilliant. You can get it on GoG.
