Nice to see Vanden Heuvel give up the fumble causing sack. Lets go Woverine D, put away the most overrated team in the country.

What the hell are they talking about in the Michigan-Wisconsin game? First downs aren't important because they stop the clock?

There's another sack. No fumble, but with no timeouts, that keeps the clock going.

Yes you are. You're the most fan-blind person we have here. We go through this every college football season. You really need to get a hobby or get outside and do something more instead of putting all of your emotions and well-being on a silly game. |

He had one or two of the early success, yeah. The problem is the state of affairs right before he left. He had alienated our entire state. Before he left, we were getting 2 of the top 10 players in the state. 8 of the top 10 were leaving the state. That was a regular occurence and getting worse. Talking to high school coaches around our state (which I actually do regularly) it was clear they were steering kids away because of how crappy he was as a coach. Yes, discipline, too. He was an absolute clown on the sidelines and ran a country club for practices, playing favorites, being vindictive, etc. It's not selective memory, believe I know about our good classes. His best was ranked #22. Our current class, with only 16 players signed and several players expected to be rated higher than they are by the end, is top 20 already. Coupled with the way he turned around our recruiting in the month or so he had on the job before signing day last year, and I'm quite comfortable with recruiting now. I've watched his practices, and seen first hand how much more efficient they are than Houston Nutt's. I know the program is on the right track right now. Hell, if he leaves us in 2 years, we will already be better off. Anyway, thanks for putting up with me. |

Vols drop to 1-3 with the loss today, worst start since '94.
And with just one more loss this season (does anyone doubt there's at least one more loss on the horizon?) it will be the first time since '79-'82 that the Vols have posted four consecutive seasons with a winning percentage below .750. That would represent the beginning of the Johnny Majors era to put that into some historical perspective.

Yeah, but it is bigger than 8 beating 3, right? Can't that be the third upset today, and let my Dawgs cruise? Please?

Oklahoma scores two TD's on its opening drive; a long TD pass to Jermaine Gresham gets called back for holding by a WR downfield, then Bradford follows up the 74 yard drive with a TD pass to Iglesias.

No way, not yet at least, it'd be far too expensive. $2.5mil to $3 mil plus per year until 2014. Average during the deal is $2.99 mil/yr, not counting incentives. Why not an even $3 million you might wonder? Some wags have suggested that's because it would have been too embarrassing even for UT to say they paid three million to the fourth best coach in the division.

So I saw the 19-0 score for Michigan and took a nap even though I really didn't want to. Came here after waking up and was like, "What the hell..." and then went and watched the rest of it despite a lack of supper and I was suppose to be elsewhere to a point. Wisconsin pretty much always makes the top ten while being the at best 3rd best Big Ten team. Michigan's secondary still sucks and the offense is still got massive growing pains, but Michigan had to have a game like this where the light came on against at least a somewhat ranked opponent. This team was looking fairly square in the eye at a 4 win season at one point, but them getting 6-7 wins seems a little more feasible now. Even my Dad called me at the end to congratulate me on my team winning.
PS. IMO, 'Bama beating Georgia wouldn't be that big of an upset, or at least as big as some people are making it out to be. |

Pharther and pharther behind it appears. While much has been made of his winning percentage, let's look at the more recent history -- past seven seasons say, being incredibly generous and saying they finish 9-4 this year (which I don't believe will even be close). He'd be 61-29 during that stretch, that's .678. That's worse than Bill Battle (.723) and worse than Doug Dickey (.738), and those are two very reviled characters in UT history (albeit not for the record in Dickey's case). Hell, Battle is the guy who came home from a game to find a moving van parked on the street outside his house. Fulmer has always been a controversial figure in some circles (due to his alleged role in Majors removal) but that's been back burned due to the wins. Now that those are becoming harder to find, the heat that's going to come will make the past few years seem like good times for Phat Phil.

You can imagine how it churns my stomach to say this but there's a better chance of you putting up a 70-0 win. It would take an egg of Jurassic proportions for Georgia to lose to this particular configuration.

UGA can't stop Bama, and then shoot themselves in the foot with a stupid penalty on a turnover play. 80 yard drive, and Alabama up 7-0.

LSU looked asleep to start the game but pick up the pace a bit, 10 - 3 over MSU. Even if LSU joins the list of teams trying to sleepwalk through lesser competition this week, MSU is horrid.
If Jarrett Lee ever learns to not stare down his recievers and go through his progressions, he will be an elite QB. He can really sling the ball around. |
