Looks like someone got some PS4's at wholesale and is selling them off at a discount. $369 for a PS4.

I would avoid those. My understanding is that they're actually open box/returns.

Fry's has PS4's for $379.99, which, yeah, $10 more, but you're getting a brand new unit.

And if you don't have a Fry's nearby, you can pricematch at Best Buy and other retailers (and with free shipping on the item, the retailers can't even roll that into the matched price).

Save 75% on Football Manager 2014 on Steam

I think an even better deal is $12.49 through amazon (steam code), and when I purchased I got an email with a $5 amazon app store credit and another $1 MP3 credit.

Imagine if those 75% coupons we were passing around a few weeks ago were still valid and stacked with that sale price.

I'm really enjoying one of the games that came with the bundle, Skyborn, so far.

Getting close to finishing Skyborn, and it's very well developed and smooth, polished, and fun.

EDIT - All done, nice way to spend 10-12 hours. Solid RPG.

I've also been spending a couple days playing Skyborn and a little bit of Destiny of Sins 2. They do remind me of the good ol' SNES JRPG days.

The single player version of Uncharted 3 is no longer free, bummer, was too late on it.

Started downloading Dark Souls, since it's the Games With Gold freebie right now.

Then I refreshed my memory about the reactions to the game here with a quick search.

Yeah, thinking this probably takes longer to download than the actual playtime that it will get here.

Yeah, thinking this probably takes longer to download than the actual playtime that it will get here.

I feel like I should come clean and admit that I've played like 120 hours of Dark Souls II, despite all the bitching I did about the first game on here.

....that said, I still don't know if I could/would stomach the first one any better. There were a few key pieces of tedium removed in the second iteration.

I've been hesitant to try anything not called Steam, but this may catch my interest. GOG has a lot of legit deals and older games Steam doesn't have, I just haven't wanted to manage a GOG library through a web interface so have not paid it much attention. This changes that.

The problem with all of these services that aren't Steam is that they aren't Steam. I don't want to have games scattered across multiple services. The old-school equivalent would be storing different game discs in different rooms of your house. You'd have 80% of them in one room and then the rest scattered around other rooms based on who published them or even just where you bought them. "I could have sworn I had that game lying around here somewhere... oh wait, maybe I bought that one at GameStop, I'll have to go downstairs and check the GameStop room". So dumb.

I 100% agree. However, at a glance I feel the content GOG offers may be enough to make up for the segmentation issue. And from a nebulous "trust" perspective, they are not Origin to me(ME3 was going to be a day 1 Steam buy, I still haven't purchased it).

I'd still default to Steam when games are available on both, even if it costs more.

I'd say by missing out on ME3 you were saved by Origin there. I don't mind getting a game on Origin if it's the only option. Not my first choice, but it's not something like eLicense that is bad enough I'd never even consider.

I have a bunch of older games I purchased on GOG but I've never considered buying a new release over Steam because they offered none of the conveniences of Steam like easy download, install and updates. If the client is good I might consider buying a new game from GOG if it's on a good deal, but I'd still prefer Steam.

GOG.com's last (?) day of its summer sale, offering many of the bundles from previous parts of the sale, plus if you click on the Play Magrunner: Dark Pulse for free banner, you get the game for free (will likely have to wait your turn to get it downloaded to your account)

I don't see an issue with segmentation - at worst it means for a game I might not play often that I forget which service it's on and have to open both up for a glance to figure that out.

The key to me is the management of the reinstalls, updates, etc. And having 2 services doing that isn't really worse than 1. Now I wouldn't want 3-4, but 2 is no big deal.

Will have to check this out.

Best Buy is having a sale starting on July 20th

I'll probably be picking up Zelda since I have a gift card I need to use. I just gotta decide if I want Bravely Default or Kirby to go with it.

Zelda as part of that is a steal. I think I'll grab Tomadachi Life, too, since I wouldn't buy that at $40

I just finished up one of the timelines yesterday, it's a great FPS that plays like an old school shooter from the Half-Life 2 era.

Yeah, I have no issue with Origin. I rarely have it on. When it's off, it's just another icon on my desktop. When it's on, it's just like a weak Steam with, like, 2-3 games in the library.

Not that big of a deal.

Origin has never worked on my system. I gave up on Mass Effect 3 despite being 15 hours into the game because I was tired of it breaking every time they changed anything.

Ouch, glad I never installed Sims 2.

Still though, it's not as bad as when Sony put a back door virus on it's music cds.
