Shocked to see a punt there from Spartans. Montee Ball time - solidify some Heisman votes here, buddy.

Surprised by the somewhat pussy call - but okay, here we go defense. Two minute drill time. Please punt it realllllly far.

Michigan State deserved a better ending than this. They really did.

A shame such a great game had to end on such a call.

After watching these two teams go head-to-head twice this year, there is no real difference between the two.

Well, you cant not call the penalty, but it sucks for MSU, regardless.

Man, I wish I had been watching this game all along. Having Gus Johnson call a 42-39 game probably was awesome

even though Spartans I think deserve a BCS spot before Wolverines they'll get a very worthy SEC opponent to prove themselves again. Hopefully they don't crap the bed like last year. I don't think they will this time.

I'd be a little more worried about Wisconsin crapping the bed against Oregon than anything Michigan State might do.

Actually, what may be the greatest experience in the world is if Gus Johnson had been calling the Boise St-Oklahoma game. Please say that happened in some other parallel universe and that's what the Large Hadron Collider is after

WHat a game! Too bad about that penalty... it would have been a much, much better ending than a few kneel downs.

Both teams showed a lot. Great jobs all around, regardless of some head scratching stuff by Wisconsin (which comes with any Wisconsin game.)

Sorry Sparty.

Yes, otherwise would have been USC, not UCLA in the PAC 12 game.

Fantastic performance by Okie St with emphasis on how bad they screwed up their chance. Just no excuse for losing to Iowa State if you want to claim stake at being called the best.

Another week solidifying why the current system is better than any playoff. Can't wait until tomorrow for the BCS SEC selection coronation show.

I'm convinced that would have been a much different game if there hadn't been the plane crash that killed the two coaches that morning.

If this were college basketball instead of college football, OSU would be in the title game.

Wins vs. Current top 25:

OSU - 5
Alabama - 2

Wins against top 50 -

OSU - 7
Bama - 5

Wins vs. teams in the top 10 when they played:

OSU - 2
Bama - 0

Bama clearly wins the eye test. And I actually think Bama has a better chance to beat LSU than OSU does. But on body of work, OSU is flat out the better choice. I hope the voters get this right tomorrow.

Hypothetical. If Alabama had beaten LSU, but lost to say, Vandy, giving both LSU and Bama one loss each...still LSU/Bama for the title?

So the quality wins argument only matters when it's a non-BCS school, right?

oh, I understand. Bama beating teams with a combined record of just over .500 (this despite LSU, Arkansas and Penn ST combining for a 32-5 mark, think about that for a second) will be enough to get them into the title game.

I have no doubts the college system will screw this up. This should have been fixed in 2001 when Nebraska couldn't win it's own division yet went to the title game. Bama couldn't win it's own division despite playing garbage teams all year and having their two most difficult conference games at home.

Again, if it's just the eye test, I get Alabama. I really do. But this should be about more than the eye test. It should be about a body of work. If you aren't biased and go by the body of work, OSU is in the title game. I know that won't happen.

Yeah Im not sure. Its close. Okie st was a bad pass from being there as bama was a missed FG from being in LSUs situation. Okie St could hang there with either of them so I dont want to hear about LSU/Alabama beating them by 14+ like has been mentioned. LSU would have never seen a more talented group of WRs all year.

I'll be a little disappointed if Boise doesn't sneak in to a BCS game. 1 point loss to a solid TCU team ouch.

Them people would be wrong. Okie St was 6 now 5 deep with pure freaks at the WR position including a top 10 pick in next years draft.

"Based on" means "what are you basing your opinion on?" I'm sure you mean Greg Childs who was coming off an injury and was far from our #1 receiver this year. That would be Jarius Wright. Before Childs near career-ending injury, he was our #1. Hard to believe but he's taken a little time to come back from the injury. The fact that our receivers didn't miss a beat and are still one of the best if not the best in the country without his contribution speaks volumes about the depth. I think we still are 7 or 8 deep at that position, without Childs.

Wright, Adams, Hamilton, Wingo, Herndon, Horton, Wade all in front of Childs as far as contribution this year, plus redshirting some huge talent.

No, pretty much every national broadcast of Arkansas games this year and many national publications, countless articles, blogs, you name it.

Ive actually heard it a few places. Blackmon is considered a top 10 pick. Any mock draft board will show you this.

They have a talented big fast guy that is injury prone and now hurt again(Anyiam), they have a Wes Welker type in Cooper. Chelf and Moore are also in the mix of talented WRs. They have a couple more as well.

As a group they proved very productive this year and turned an average QB into a Heisman contender. I feel production speaks louder than words I guess.

Right, because Arkansas's receivers didn't produce anything this year.

:eyeroll:

Point being it is at least close. To say LSU hasn't seen anything like OSU's receivers is just being silly.

I never said Arkansas didnt produce. They have a very nice group. They just dont have a top 10 NFL pick mixed in with some 6 foot 4 freaks and a nice underneath Welker type.
