UGA is going to lose this one bad. The defense is just playing stupid. Constant penalties, the Tide doesn't need to do anything.

You can't script a better situation for Bama. Up 10-0, all they need to do is grind it from here. They have the size to just kill that defense over time. I'm about to head to a party (an 80's party. I'm in my GNR tee and button-flys), so yall won't have to hear me slowly die.

Son of a Motherless Goat! I am just sickened by the turnovers in the Wake game. two of those ints were with no one in the area.

This Alabama-Georgia team is making me feel a heck of a lot better. If Bama can do what they did to us to the #3 team in the country without Casey Dick's help, maybe the sky isn't falling after all.
OK, OK, the sky is falling. |

24-0 Tide, btw.
Clearly I need to leave home about kickoff and hit the local McDonald's more often, it brings magnificent luck

And a promising UGA drive in the final minute of the half ends with an INT.
This just gets better & better.

31-Zip at Halftime? See this is another example of why big time programs like 'Bama shouldn't even waste their time and put I-AA's on the schedule. It sure is nice of them to come down to Statesboro and give Georgia Southern a home game against a big time opponent and all, but still...

No overstatement. I think this is the best overall offense Penn State has had since the 1994 undefeated team (Kerry Collins, Ki-Jana Carter, Bobby Engram, Kyle Brady).
Whether it's the offensive line, FB Jason Lawler, Butler, Williams, Ethan Royster, etc. Clark might actually be better than Michael Robinson (stronger arm and better decisions). Just, wow. |

Nah, they've decided to stick around as the Redcoat Band debuts the team's new fight song ... The Great Pretender. edit to add -- In all seriousness though, the 2nd half will probably tell much of the season's tale for Georgia. If they come out & show some heart, try to at least win the half, they can keep themselves alive. If they roll over & play dead though ... hard to think it won't happen again.

BTW, 31 points by 'Bama is the most allowed in a half by Georgia since the 2nd half (37) of Tennessee's 51-33 win in Athens on 10/7/06.

Nope, watching and pulling for my team. Now that my kid is in bed I'll be posting on it. I thought the Illini got hosed on overturned fumble, but there is a ton of game left to make up for it. So far, they haven't. |

By the way, I have no idea what to think of Wisconsin or Michigan after that game, except that I am still convinced that PJ Hill is overrated.

I still think it was a great idea by Mark Richt to make a big deal out of jersey issues. It shows a lot of confidence in his players and builds confidence and attention to the details of the game when the head coach plays fashion designer. And then worrying about a line a strength and conditioning coach said during warm-ups? Brilliant. He is a God amongst men.

Okay, I just flipped on the Georgia game. Why the hell were they talking about Britney Spears?

The context was "what a difference a year makes", as they had shown the OT game winner by Stafford last year. It was also a sideways reference to Patrick's mention of Spears during last year's game.

We've looked good so far. It started off as a typical VT game...nice punt return followed by a nice punt followed by a nice punt block out of the back of the end zone. BeamerBall, baby.

Illin go for it on quick snap 4th and 2, midfield, first drive of 2nd half. Stuffed.
I can understand wanting to be aggressive, and that you need to score with PSU. But that was pretty brutal from a momentum perspective. |

BTW, it's now 34-17 'Bama with 9:05 to play. And that's with a FG for the Tide a few minutes ago. Georgia now driving again.

UTEP leads UCF 34-7 midway through the 3rd quarter in a game that's apparently on CBSCS.

LSU D has been all kinds of bad today. The D still looks in flux from losing those starters and the D coordinator. Better get it together before the meat of the SEC schedule.

Nice drive, capped by a nifty run to paydirt by Coffee, to ice the game for 'Bama (well, it's now under review). If they score on this play or another, it'll be 41-17 with 4:13 to play.

Quick score for Georgia, so it's 41-23 with 3 mins left, and they'll go for two.
edit: It's tipped away in the end zone, no good.

And Georgia recovers the onside kick.
edit: which leads to another TD, now 41-30 with 1:35 left. Saw something I liked about Freshman WR A.J. Green there, no celebration or anything, just flipped it to the ref & went to the bench to get a drink. That's a good sign of maturity from a youngster there.

Alabama looks great regardless of how the game ends. I think they are one of the top 3 teams in the country right now. (OU and Missouri)
