The Denver crowd is counting down the play clock so they know when to snap it. This is comical. And Denver is still winning somehow.

Seriously, this dude may end up being a good coach, but this is supposed to be a playoff team and you don't do on-the-job training for a HC with a 30-something franchise QB you just brought in and signed to a 7 year extension.

There's a lot of season left but at this point it's simply shocking how bad the Bengals' offense is.

Burrow's on pace for being sacked 110.5 times. That's twice as many as last year.

Well just when I was ready to call it quits on my beloved Cards after a putrid first half and the Rams next week, the real Kyler Murray shows up. Just a crazy finish in OT with the Cards having the chance to get a turnover on 3 straight plays and do it on the 3rd and run it in for the game winner. Wow

I look for Trubisky to start the Thursday night game vs the Browns, but if the Steelers lose that one, it makes sense to me for the Steelers to start Pickett at home against the Jets.

Probably not entirely fair, but I feel like I'm watching two teams battling for draft position tonight. That might have been a good use of the red flag. And here it is.

Why are there 2 games tomorrow? Some sort of horse trade/concession to Disney because of the way the other packages were sold or something?

I think they’ll wait until the bye week. 9 games after, 5 home games including the first two after the bye.

The team it looks I was low-key the wrongest on after two weeks is the Colts.

I figured that an aging Matt Ryan would give them consistent A-/B+ play, and that the coaching and the other players were good enough for that to put them comfortably in the AFC playoffs (though still a tier below the Bills, Chiefs, etc.).

I think I was wrong.

Yeah, I picked them as one of my teams for a salary cap game. Bad move. The entire team looks terrible. Falcons might not be any good this year, but right call to move on from Ryan.

To answer my own question - this is part of the new MNF package deal. This year, one week with 2 MNF games. Next year there will be 3 weeks of MNF DHs.

So the doctor that punctured Tyrod Taylor's lung with a needle is still with the Chargers? Is the doctor that good?

I think that’s another good possibility. I just think we don’t need to see much more of Mitch to see what he is, but there is a chance Pickett turns into an above average QB by week 8 or 9, which might get them into playoff contention. It’s insane that they can’t seem to throw passes past 12-15 yards. I thought it was Ben’s janky arm, but I think it’s just the offense now.

Darius Slay locking down Justin Jefferson last night reminds me the Lions will be spending years fixing the fuck ups of Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia. It will actively piss me off Sunday in Minneapolis.

Seriously. Quinntricia did a ton of damage to an already pretty woeful franchise. They drove off both Slay and Quandre Diggs - arguably the two best defensive backs the team has had in the last several years. The defensive backfield is still trying to recover and not nearly there yet. I can't stand either Quinn or Patricia. They sucked.

It was a solid game for the Lions. It will be interesting to see how the offense travels. Goff has been fine, but could be better. He and Hockenson look very much out of sync. The Hockenson pick hasn't aged well at all. He's fine, but not great, and when you draft a TE with a Top 10 pick they really need to be great.

I've been a St. Brown fan since before the Lions drafted him. I remember chanting his name in my basement when the Lions were on the clock in the 4th round, hoping they'd grab him - mainly because I thought he had a sweet name and I liked his background and based on what I had read in draft guides - I had never seen him play.

It's encouraging to see the young core - Swift, St. Brown, Hutchinson, and Sewel - being the difference makers. We haven't even seen Jameson Williams!

There's still a long, long way to go. The defense is pretty terrible. Their schedule is pretty easy and if they beat the teams they should and go, say 50-50 against their tougher opponents, they should at least be in that "in the hunt" graphic by Thanksgiving, which would be progress.

Also, other than drafting consecutive injured defensive tackles that haven't done anything in the second round, Brad Holmes has been pretty solid as a GM.

I don't know how Quinn was regarded when he was hired.

But I remember that even at the time, Patricia was panned. It really felt like he got hired b/c he had a weird beard so people noticed him. Bill Simmons was openly laughing at the idea of him getting HC interviews.

It is one thing to hire a bad coach. But to hire one that you *know* will be a bad coach is so demoralizing.

Since the beginning of 2021 the Dolphins are 11-0 versus team that start a QB with an O in their last name and 0-9 against QBs without an O in their last name.
