Just got done watching House Hunters with my wife. The surreal part was that the wife in the episode (Colleen) is a girl that I dated in college. It's called "Pittsburgh couple moves to California" or something like that.

This show lost me once I found out that the buyers were already in closing on one of the three properties.

Just like how love it or list it always loved their last house they visited? Flip or flop is on my area and it's nice they actually show flops and I really liked property virgins when it was on.

Ah, but it wasn't always that way. Tariq and Christina are great people but it took one of their product partners that always showing the positive (Season 1) wasn't realistic and if you want to build the product and show the reality behind it, you must show the flops, it will increase sales on the product if you do so.

Boom, they brought it in on their show and their sales in the product almost doubled because they were being real.

I asked Colleen on Facebook about how many houses they really looked at. Here is her answer:

Dan did most of the house hunting out here since he was here about 4 months before me. He looked at a lot of houses. We did one trip with the kids and I did one trip separately where I saw a bunch of houses too. The 2nd house was a real contender for us - we seriously considered that one but decided against it because of the busy street right behind it and the super choppy floor plan (and higher price). The 3rd house was never considered because it wasn't in the school boundary that we wanted (and we filmed the 3rd house after we already purchased our house)

What's crazy is that they came to California for the weather. Rancho is pretty warm, but it gets some crazy wind and way more desert feeling then a lot of Southern California.

I work in Rancho. Coming out from Pittsburgh, I'm pretty sure they'll like the weather in Rancho just fine.
