Milk and Cereal Creation Question

Seems like a no brainer, but it was a split debate at work and it has me reeling.

Cereal first. I can't see how this would be done any other way.

Cereal, then milk, then eat the cereal, then pour more cereal into the bowl to use up the rest of the milk you poured. Repeat until the milk is pretty much just liquid sugar.

This is the blowout I was hoping for. Made it a public poll to shame whoever picks the milk option

Why in the hell would you want your cereal sitting on top of the milk?

I don't eat cereal anymore, but when I did, definitely cereal goes in first.

Anybody who puts the milk in first is a deviant and should probably be shunned.

Just wondering (asking for a friend)...

Does anyone else eat their cereal out of a cup (usually a 32oz plastic one) as opposed to a bowl?

Milk is evil, making your cereal soggy is crazy.

We did this on vacations when I was growing up, I remember 7 year old me thinking it was really appealing for some reason.

I don't think I ever used a cup that big, but something like a Solo cup, sure.

I solo cup it all the time. Maybe out of laziness, ease of moving around with it, I dunno, but it's my preferred method.

1) the cereal is more confined and cant swim away from your spoon
2) When cereal is gone cereal milk is easier to drink
3) Holding cup and walking around and eating cereal is much less messy than holding bowl

When I was a kid, I would sometimes put the milk in first then the cheerios. I liked my spoonfuls of cheerios with just a little hint of milk in them. Of course, I could have accomplished the exact same thing simply by pouring a small amount of milk into a bowl of cheerios.....but I was just too dumb

So much so that maybe they misunderstood the question.

Eegads... pouring the milk first is tantamount to eating your toast butter side down. Damn Zooks.

OK, so does anyone else put the butter in the pan and then lay the bread on it once it's melted down, instead of buttering the bread, when making a grilled cheese sandwich?

The only reason I don't do this is because the butter on the opposite slice of bread is a perfect indicator as to the doneness of the bottom slice of bread. Cooking on medium-low heat, when the corners are melted, it's time to flip. After that, it's probably a 3 minute wait. I grate some parmesan on the top side and flip it again (then grate some parm on the other side) for 20-30 seconds on each side to finish it off.. Give it a try that way if you haven't.. The parmesan really takes it to another level.
