Do Animals Have Souls?
I was discussing this with my co-workers today and it spawned some "creative" arguments until my supervisor decided doing actual work is more important than debates.
What does everybody here think? |

Can we define "soul" to some degree?

Everything has a soul, from the lowliest pre-animate matter to the most complex creature in the universe. Though I have no concrete belief system as yet, I tend to like the idea that everyone gets recycled based on their actions during their lifetimes.
Live a good life, come back as a pampered house cat Live a bad life, you spend a few decades as a bit of mold or an annoying virus. |

I was singing that today while still in uniform. Mrs Dutch says, "Um, I think you got that backwards." |

i was thinking kind of the christianity version (being that's what I know best), sorry for not being clear. Although hearing other interpretations of "soul" would be interesting to me |

I don't recall the whole gist but C.S. Lewis argues that our pets do have souls, and they are saved through us - in the same way we are saved through Jesus.

I would like to believe that when my fish Panama Jack died, he went to the big ocean in the sky. So, yea, I believe that all animals have souls.

Do animals who don't take Jesus as their personal savior go to hell?

Do priests get an "employee's discount" getting into Heaven? Would that explain their rationale for doing nasty things with little boys?

I think they're free and clear in that case. As long as they don't sin while drowning. |
