Wow, Loyola-Chicago beats Miami with a 3 at the buzzer!

This SFA - TT game is weird.

SFA feels like the P5 bully getting all the calls & TT feels like the scrappy underdog.

Arizona's defense looks awful to start.

Its all on Miller and his staff. Buff is too quick to handle one on one guard wise and why they cant recognize that and change is irritating. It's not hard to see at all.

I don't think Colin Sexton's game translates at the next level, but he's fun to watch right now.

I don't even understand why a professional for-pay team is elligble for the tournament, but I'm glad they're gone.

It’s been awful all year. The moment their offense faltered, they were going to be in trouble. This was embarrassing- but that’s a fitting ending to this year.

It was a joke that Arizona got seeded where they did. Or that the Pac-12 got more than 1 team in. I guess you could make a case for USC but that's it.

I guess they can thank the committee for helping them out but in the end it just made them a laughingstock.

Happy for Coach Crean. I know he can be a major dork, but he is a good man. Hopefully he can get many more wins against Calipari. I hope he has learned some things in his year off and that he does well for Georgia.

Purdue's Isaac Haas fractured his elbow in their first round win. He played 3 minutes after the injury occurred so the news came out of nowhere. Purdue University athletics are absolutely cursed. The last 3 teams that have been elite level have had injuries during or before the tournament. Robbie Hummel, Haas, and Glen Robinson played hurt in 94.

It makes me sick, but I hope we can embrace playing small ball the rest of the way. We have another 7 footer that can play 25ish minutes, but it's those other 15 that I am worried about.

by screwed you mean that tap on the elbow?

FWIW, just make your FTs and you win that game, but missing the front end of 1 and 1s and making like 2-6 FREE THROWS down the stretch didn't help

Yes, can't swallow your whistle there.

But yeah, 7-14 from the line as a team that makes 75% is an awful choke.

In my work bracket, all but 3 of us chose Virginia to win it all. With Arizona going down, I need UMBC to pull the big upset so I can finish in the money.

Virginia really doesn’t have any next level guys on this team, and definitely no impact nba players. That makes a high seed ripe for an upset when you have an injury and the combination of a team playing at a “magical level” and your team struggling.

UVA has been out-quicked. How many blow-by layups did UMBC get in the 2nd half.

This is the largest bed-shitting in college sports history, bar none.
And it calls into question, IMO, the entire conference.

If you got THIS fucking dominated in this situation, who the hell did you play all year?

Who thought the first 16/1 win would be a 20 point blowout?

I've seen this kind of outcome in FBCB a ton of times where you see a #1 and wonder how they're a #1 but a deceptively good, well-executed 16 comes out and puts it on their face.

The Ralph Sampson team just got the albatross off their neck for the worst loss in NCAA history. But it ain't gotta change zip codes.

A lot of times things like this are hyperbole. Not in this case. It's at the very least in the discussion. The unanimous AP #1 team and Kenpom's #1 overall lost to Kenpom's #188 team by 20 in the opening round.

A 1 was going to lose to a 16 at some point. This is not at all how I imagined it happening.

Yeah I never thought the first #16 win would be by 20 points.

On a side note there are no perfect brackets left.

I think there's a legit argument that you don't even need the word 'college' in there.

Like...as was mentioned, a lot of the time 'biggest ever' is hyperbolic, but a 16 beating the overall #1 by 20? I'm trying to think of an example even in pro sports of Goliath getting skunked like that.

I think, bless his heart, Sir Charles raised a valid point: it may not be possible for a team with UVA's style to win a title in this day & age.

If this happens, honestly, how do you stick with this?

They looked completely overmatched, lacking the necessary skills to even compete with their opponent.
