I have 35 members of the Top 100 listing me in their Top 8. Hopefully I can land one or two of them.

I'm guessing that the signing doesn't show "up" until the next week? Just a thought, should we wait until the following week after they sign before we make an announcement on the signing? |

I just "hung up" on a recruit on accident. I went to go "back" to the main recruiting board, but I guess when you go to call, you actually "call", then proceed into the pitch options screen.

Are these guys showing as comitted to anyone else? I dont have access to the game. If they don't it would be a good I dea to keep the commitments to yourself until they are" official" next week. I had 2 commits but not sure if I should say who they were.

I hope EA didn't screw up and allow guys to commit to a team just because they were the first one to do the recruiting for that week... hopefully, these guys all had the teams they were committing to #1 by a fair margin before they made the jump.
I plan on getting around to my first week of recruiting tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest, not to mention playing my first game.

In the case of my DE, my school was far ahead of UT and USC which were 2 and 3.

I read somewhere that if you offer a schollie while you are #1 on their list you may get a commit on the spot. It has nothing to do with who recruits them first.

No. To get a guy to commit to you week 1, he has to have your first in interest and it has to be by quite a bit. I've done 9 seasons with my friend and had it happened 8 or 9 times tops. |

Five of the Top 100 Prospects signed going into week 2. Three of them went to RFL teams.
Top 100 Recruit Signings: Adrian Briggs, OLB (Run Stopper) Stars: 5 National Rank: #24 Positional Rank: #5 Signed with: Florida State Panama City, Florida Dylan Williamson, QB (Balanced) Stars: 4 National Rank: 40 Positional Rank: #2 Signed with: Ohio State Nomi, Michigan Adam Smith, CB (Balanced) Stars: 4 National Rank: 42 Positional Rank: #7 Signed with: Purdue Plainfield, Indiana Kenny Coleman, HB (Balanced) Stars: 4 JUCO National Rank: 58 Positional Rank: #8 Signed with: Georgia Compton, Georgia Donald Ross, DE (Pass Rusher) Stars: 4 National Rank: 92 Positional Rank: #10 Signed with: Michigan La Crosse, Wisconsin We got a commitment this week. (as soon as you log in, does it show up as a commitment for everyone, or should I wait until next week to announce it?) Any recruiting battles you won or lost? Any battles you're intrigued in? I made a play for Ross, offering him a scholarship. However, it wasn't a big investment. Adam Smith, on the other hand, was someone we really hoped to bring in. Offering a scholarship and hoping to keep the boy in-state, we really wanted to get a commitment from him to help fulfill one of our biggest needs. Losing him to a rival in Purdue hurts even more. You can't see who they got offers from until the second week, so I'm wondering if Kodos had him on the radar screen and made a serious pursuit for him. We had Williamson on our list, and I can't remember if we made an offer or not. However, we didn't make a real effort to lure him. He was sort of a backup plan for us. All three guys had us in the top 10 of their lists. Last edited by Galaxy : 08-08-2008 at 12:26 AM. |

Recruiting is really a lot more fun than I had anticipated. I am having problems calling more than about 15 guys a week though. I need to figure that out or I could really miss out on some guys. That being said, I am pleased with the way things are shaping up. Some good players have me at #1. Just gotta seal the deal...

I can't wait until next week. I got two players coming in for visit for our big match up against rival Michigan. How big is a visit, and what is a "great" visit for them?

I actually *think* one of the prospects is considering an offer from you (but I'm not sure). Does the result of this game have an impact on that? Last edited by Galaxy : 08-12-2008 at 10:15 PM. |

A loss hurts, a win helps. The degree to which either occurs helps make more impact but a lot of it is also dependant on the three events you schedule for the visit. |

Nope, neither one of them are considering an offer from Michigan. I got confused because I see we're competing over a few guys.
It gets confusing sometimes because we have pipelines into: Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Florida, and California (I just need to built a nice pipeline into Texas); as well as the fact we're "Notre Dame". So we're competing with pretty much every RFL team for one prospect or another. Any good threads or sites that offer an in-depth idea on the campus visits. I'm not exactly sure how it works, and the impact it has (does a certain game or weekend have a bigger impact over another)? Last edited by Galaxy : 08-13-2008 at 02:25 AM. |

Say we did have a prospect coming in who an offer from Michigan (which we don't this weekend, sadly) and an offer from us, both in his top three schools, would a win by us give us an extra boost in comparison to a regular game since we beat you or vice versa? |

it shows a letter grade the next week in the visit column on the recruit menu. As far as activities you click the guys name the week of a visit and you pick three options based on the pitches you have used to unlock interests.

Notre Dame snagged it's first commitment last week:
Trey Harding, ATH, 4 Stars, National Rank: #228 Position Rank: #16 San Dimas, California 6'3''/209 lbs. 40-Time: 4.41 Bench: 235 Squat: 450 Awareness: A+ To be quite honest, I'm not sure where we will put him. He has C- to C+ in the coverage ratings, and is a weak tackler. His hands are a D. A great athlete with speed, size, strength and smarts, he'll be raw and we'll work to find the right place for him on defense. We'll be bringing in our first three players for a weekend visit in our game against #21 Michigan (on TV as well). Hopefully we show them a good time and win over Michigan. Every guy I'm trying to recruit has Notre Dame at the top of his list. Are you recruiting with 3,000 hours or what?

We did it. We snagged our second commitment in Tate Moore (who was a soft verbal after a great visit to our campus for the Michigan game) a 6'5'', 4-star defensive tackle from Utah (yes, we managed to somehow to sign a terrific talent in a non-pipeline state in Utah).
