Destroyed by Missouri. We were the underdogs at home and we played like it. My defense couldn't get a stop and my offense could move it, but not punch it in.

You ought to see how incredulous I start to get when I think we're all ready to advance or we're close to advancing.. I check the boards 50% of the time just to see if the pyramid or the ladder have advanced, like some sort of lunatic.

Not saying I mind, but the anticipation is right up there with how I used to feel as a kid near Christmas time. Playing in a league with other people is just so much more fulfilling than playing a solo dynasty. When I see that the thread has been updated with a Kodos post after about a week, I get excited like a dog that thinks he's about to take a walk.

Finally got my game in and my recruiting done, and I love this team already. Bunch of overachievers this week, we settled into a 3-4 for most of the game defensively and really did a solid job shutting S.Carolina down after they drove the ball down our throat on two of their first 3 drives with a failed 4th down the only reason they didn't score on their second drive.

The rest of the game we allowed them to score only one more TD, and our offense looked quite good. First time I have had the good fortune of playing with a mobile QB who has some legs, and I was not disappointed. Ran for 249 and 4 scores as a team with the QB accounting for 90+ and a score. Our FB scored 4 times, 3 plunges from inside the 1, one 4 yard pass on the last play of the game as we ran the score up a little. Wanted to make a statement in our opener.

Final score was 59-21, we scored on every drive except for the one we turned it over and the D had 3 picks including one which went back for 6.

UTEP game is done. I think that is the last one.

We put Florida down without much of a fight. They never really got any offense rolling. Had to punt a few times, but did not turn the ball over. So not a bad day.

Wow, we had to earn every inch in that game. Oregon's O was giving my fairly weak D fits, and they kind of exposed us for our weaknesses.. But we were in a gambling mood and converted 4 of 6 4th downs in the game (Oregon gambled too, going 2/3 on their 4th downs).. We needed every single one too, because we were down 28-21 with 2 minutes left before we managed to wrangle a TD out of that final drive and force OT. QB Daniel Manning was sharp enough to give us a 30/43 day for 340 and 3 scores with no turnovers, but our run game was unable to really do anything after the first quarter. We started out hot, but they seemed to be on some kind of juice as the game wore on, just flying to the ball and swarming us under. In OT, we got the ball first and converted another one of those 4th downs to finally punch it in for 6, because I knew we couldn't stop their offense.... Well, we stopped their offense. Unbelievably tough 35-28 win for us, and a big one on the road against a team of that caliber. Now I just hope they win out so this ends up being a legitimate upset.

Stressful game, man.. whew. Took us 84 plays to put up 35 points. I think 3 of those scores came on drives where we converted a 4th down.

Up 35-14 early in the 2nd quarter and driving to ice the game.
The world fell apart.

Won 38-35 on a last second FG.

Something happened as my all world RB just got slow at some point in the game. SUbbed in his (even faster) back up and neither could make the LOS. The QBs were throwing lasers on Deep Balls but Dbs were making great INTS (Over the shoulder jumping never looking back Willie Mayes style)..then on underneath stuff QB was missing wide open WRs.

We won that's what matters I suppose.

Had a horrible first half, but my 90 rated QB showed up in the second half. I thought for sure we were going to lose to lowly Georgia State. But we dominated after halftime.

Faaaaaaaaaaaawk.
So left work early and had a couple hours with the house to myself and wanted to get my game in. Recruiting went fantastic. And the game was....a barn burner.

Midway through the 4th quarter I led by 7 and ND had the ball and driving. Critical 3rd and long play, the CPU QB avoids the rush and heaves a deep bomb and ...the power in the house flickers with the ball in the air.

Duh Duh DUh.

Crap.

Progress lost.
I am not looking forward to replaying this. This is a great team, I think the score was 56 to 49 when the cpu dropped. damn.

We started shaky as hell against the Rebels, down 17-7 with about 4 minutes left in the first half thanks to two unlucky plays - First, an interception on a seam route where my WR turned TE failed to even look for the ball, and the second on a dropped pass by a WR that bounced right into the defenses hands.

After that start, however, we exploded for 42 unanswered points and ultimately won, 56-24. Our freshman FB is having a great year as our goal line battering ram, and any time we get inside the 3 without scoring, calling his number has been a no brainer. He had 5 TD's in this one because we couldn't seem to get across the goal line unless we were especially close. I think that gives him 10 on the year already.

UTEP jumped up on the #2 Ole Miss Rebels early. They started to move the ball a little and bring it to within about 10 points, we just put it away in the second half.

Also, we got one recruit to commit, which is nice.

This game is crazy.
I thought I had posted back up after the forced replay but I guess not.

As I mentioned prior to us losing power I was in a true old school Pac 10 shootout. 4th quarter and no one had punted yet.

The replay was anything but. Neither offense could do anything. First play through inside runs were gashing them left and right, second try and they were all TFLs.

Im not sure what can change that dramatically.

Took down Rice, but not without a struggle. We were only up 31-24 with about 5 minutes left, but finished with two unanswered scores to separate and win 45-24. Our offense was terrible in the first half, but unstoppable in the second, and QB Daniel Manning cracked 100 yards on the ground and 300 in the air.

My biggest disappointment was our FB only scoring twice.. But we actually managed to punch it in from further out this week instead of constantly being stopped inside the 3.

Pulled off a stunning upset over Arkansas with 3 recruits visiting. It was awesome, and somehow my defense solidified the win for us.

We allowed a ton of yards on the ground as they bulldozed over us. If I can get this team bowl eligible this season, it will be a major win for me.

That was a brutal game. My version of the TCU vs Baylor match up this year. Texas A&M simply would not be denied. Their first play was a 75 yard TD pass. My DBs were getting burned all night. A good defensive stop was giving them a FG. The difference was our 3 turnovers to their zero turnovers. I think A&M had 5 plays that were 50+ yards and a few more over 40, ouch.

It was neck in neck into the third quarter, when they got a fumble recovery and then two nice INTs where their safety made some amazing long haul center fielder style picks. I think we were down something like 17 points. Then forced an FG or two to scrape back to within 8 points. Unfortunately I don't even know how to do an on-sides kick. Our attempt ended in the A&M victory formation.

Bounced back this week and beat FSU pretty bad.

We survive and advance but something isnt right with this team.
I cant put my finger on it, but this team just isnt clicking.

We went up 14-0 and had back to back 3 and outs on D. Firing on every cylinder and then...it was like both sides of the ball went in quicksand. The stats look great on D with 9 sacks. But they were all coverage sacks and usually no loss or 1 yard loss. On offense we just couldnt get it going. My stud RB just couldnt get to the holes before they closed. We brought the freshman QB in to try and generate a spark in the 4th quarter as we have every game and he wasnt much better. We win 35-21 but that included a last second TD pass .

We will certainly lose before this year is over Im just not sure when.

What I just did I will never forgive myself for.

We were being beaten to a pulp after a half in Texas, 16-0. Our guys were getting slammed to the turf, just obliterated. Dropping passes, sucking in every way imaginable.

The second half started with us returning a kick for a score. 16-7.

We give up a couple field goals, still unable to move the ball ourselves, but not breaking defensively. We're down 22-7 near the end of 3.

Finally, a ray of hope offensively, we score to make it 22-14. We're getting some momentum.

A defensive stop, we get the ball back, and early in the 4th, we make it 22-21. Now we're rolling. We get the ball back again, score again. 28-22.

We get another stop. Our confidence is blowing up. We move it right down the field and take a strong 35-22 lead.

With 3 minutes left, we get Texas into a 4th an 6 at their own 30 or so. They decide to punt. I think they are giving up. All we need is a first down or two, and we can run this baby out and escape with a solid win after such a terrible start.

We go 3 and out. No biggie, 2 minutes left, we did manage to run one minute off the clock.

They score on a play where our safety was nowhere to be found, 35-29.

There is 1 minute left. They have 1 time out.

We recover the onside kick.

First play, I run the ball. 19 yard gain, we can kneel and win this.

This is where I become an idiot.

This is where greed eats me alive.

I decide hell with it, we're gonna make a statement, we're gonna score and make em eat it. We throw a nice pass, move it to the 5 yard line. 45 seconds left.

One more play and we should have our score.

I throw a crossing route to a TE breaking open. The LB makes an insane play. Picks it off.

FUCK.

It's ok, they have to go 80 yards in 40 seconds with one time out.

well, they do that. They score with 5 seconds left on a pass that should have been covered like a blanket. It doesn't matter if it should have been covered though. We should have kneeled, walked away with a win, and thanked our lucky fucking stars to have gotten a win against a team that just obliterated us in the first half like that.

Well, there are 5 seconds left, we can still maybe return a kick, right?

A hole.. Our return man is in the clear, 10 yards in front of anyone. He returned one to the house earlier.. But there is a guy closing quick.. We're at the 30, the 20.. And there's nothing left in the tank. Game over, our man goes down in a heap as he is caught from behind inside their 20.

I'm numbed with anger, the kind of complacent anger that comes from knowing and accepting that I am entirely at fault. Not a rage, not red faced anger, just the acceptance of my own foolishness getting the better of me in the most brutal way possible.

36-35. I will never forget how I threw this away.

Gotta hate when the rubber score backfires!
