Need some good vibes...
As some know I have been out of work since November. Hopefully, that will change in the near future.
I have a second interview tomorrow for a sales manager position here for a global building trades (fittings and couplings) manufacturer. Any good vibes, karma, prayers, etc., will be appreciated. I need all the help I can get! |

Just an update on this, I don't have the job yet, but I had the second interview and made it to the ride along. I did that last Wednesday and am now waiting to hear regarding the final interview. That said, since I have not heard anything yet, I am hoping that is good news.

Another update:
The district manager (the gu I've been interviewing with) was in town this week. He was not planning on conducting many interviews this week, he was focusing on meeting with customers, but he took the time to meet with me last nght over some cocktails. He apologized for the delay in making a selectin and explained why the process is taking so long. He mentioned that our meeting certainly helped my prospects and I am definitely a finalist for the position. He said that he would reach a decision around the middle of next week. What was interesting was after the 2.75 hr interview, as we were leaving the bar, he stopped me and talked to me for a further 20 minutes in the parking lot. I really hope this comes through. It would be a lot of work, but this would be a great company to get on board with. |

That is a good sign, John. I've been in that situation (talking with potential employer/employee "after hours") from both ends. It's a sign that you/they really enjoy the relationship. We, as IT interviewers, rate non-technical factors at 50% because ethics, personability and wanting to work with the person are very important.

A final update on this. After an interview with the guy's boss on Tuesday, a dinner with my future manager on Wednesday night, I was finally offered the job earlier today. Usual verbage apply, dependant upon passing a background check, drug test, etc., etc. It is going to be a heck of a lot of work, but it is going to be an awesome position and opportunity.
Thanks for all the vibes, prayers, and thoughts! |
