According to Lock of the Day:
Chicago Bears +3 Today we're going with the Bears. They're a much better team than the Browns, and will prove it today. Cleveland's sluggish offense will have trouble scoring points on the highly-ranked Bears defense (4th overall). Kyle Orton has had a week off to review his mistakes and Cedric Benson will be seeing more time to keep fresh legs in the backfield. Chicago's D will keep them in this game the entire time, while their offense should indeed wake up in Cleveland (Browns 30th overall D). The Bears +3? What a LOCK!

Lions score early on a Jones TD Run.
Bonus points for his Deion Sanders TD celebration with Deion on the field. |

Bonnie Bernstein is looking a little under the weather. I think she's playing hurt today.
Will the Pats/Falcons game end 0-0? No. Much more impressive on the latest drive. The bomb to Branch opened things up. Jenkins has already taken a full game's worth of hard hits. I thought Wilson should have been penalized on the first one, but the announcers didn't say a word. Last edited by Solecismic : 10-09-2005 at 12:26 PM. |

The Jets stuff Tampa 3 and out on their first posession, then fumble the punt, eventually resulting in a Tampa field goal.
vinny has taken the field. .... |

Harrington loses control of the ball, but could be a throw. Everyone stops but the refs dont' blow the whistle. Jones picks it up and runs it to the 1. Insane. Play is under review now though.

Wow. Play stands. Great job by the refs not to blow it dead and let it continue.
Lions on the one on a total fluke! |

There's a highlight we'll see over and over tonight. Daniel Graham on an amazing catch and run immediately after the announcers point out New England TEs have just one touchdown this season.

Dola. Ruben Brown injured and back in the locker room. O-Line depth is not something the Bears have. Eesh.

If the Bears want to hammer it out on the ground perhaps they could give the ball to Jones instead of trying to justify their Benson pick?

And that aforementioned lack of depth shows. Int return to the 10, it's now 3rd and goal on the 30 something, after the sub guard gets called for a Facemask, and allows a sack.
edit: That sub guard (Roberto Garza) was an FA signing. Another stellar Angelo move. Last edited by Coffee Warlord : 10-09-2005 at 12:50 PM. |

Dre Bly!!!
Damnit Bly, take a knee. Take. A. Knee. He just can't control himself once he gets the ball in his hands. His crazy laterals, trying to run it out of the endzone... Oh well, I'll take it if he keeps making plays.

Roy Williams is questionable to return now. Not good. We're down to three WR to my knowledge. Mike Williams, Kevin Johnson and Scotty Vines. Drummond is out too so there is another WR.

Stupid timeout shennanigans from the Patriot defense cost them a field goal. I know freezing the kicker is in vogue these days, but this last-second time out fake stuff is really annoying. Someone should drop a 15-yarder and end this.

Why did they try to ice them on a 58 yard FG. I hate the idea of icing in general, but on a 58 yarder?

The guy had no pressure on him to hit it. He's just going to go up there and kick the hell out of the ball and hope it goes through. Making him think about isn't going to accomplish anything.

The Lions are just barely hanging on with Baltimore playing like absolute crap. Absolute. Crap. They have a kajillion penalties. The Lions are down to three wideouts and can't run the ball for sh*t.

Brady is playing pissed off today. He looks good. I'm not sure it's going to cover up the Pats long term defensive problems though. They still look pretty poor. And as good as Brady is, he isn't going 15/17 for 295 every week.

Brady sure stepped it up this week. Thankfully. I don't trust the defense to keep Atlanta down.
