ugh... I hate the fact that the West Coast league doesn't look like it will include the Pac-10, but never mind

We're not really a "West coast" league in that sense. I think half of the league or so is in the eastern half of the country. However, I think the three leagues (Big 12, ACC, Big East) are pretty much a lock. But as for the fourth league, we might have to have another round of voting to see who gets that fourth and final slot. However, we still have two voters left. It's up to Sun and Eaglesfan27 to determine that process. |

I'm really hoping that Carrot Top doesn't become a regular visitor to this league's threads.

me, too. it'd be more competitve in the SEC, having all these great southern recruits but with the CPU controlling the powerhouse teams (FSU, Florida, Miami, etc) and humans controlling sub 80 rated teams it'd be really competitive.

One thing I like about the SEC is the unbeatable bowl situation they have. They got what, 9 tie-ins? (BCS game; Cotton, Citrus, Outback; Chick-fil-A; Liberty; Music City; Independence; PapaJohn's.com). I say the first five or six are pretty high-profile ones. But the competition is brutal. The toughest conference top-to-bottom with a ton of national powers. |

I think he only said that because he is a fan of the Pac-10, Galaxy, not because he expects it to meet geography. I'm disappointed at the likely exclusion of the Pac-10 as well. |

As I initially said, any leagues that are within 1 vote of each other for any contested spots will be included in poll(s) to determine the final winner. |

Yeah pretty much correct. Everything HA says about the SEC is true about the Pac-10 as well - it would be a fun league to play because of how top heavy it is and how many advantages certain teams have in terms of the distribution of recruits. I had my eye on Oregon State - that's one of the toughest BCS gigs in the country IMO. No biggie, but it would have been nice to play in a league that I was a fan of and knew a lot about, and I figured that the Pac-10 would be a lock. |

I know I had my eye on Stanford...but looking at the SEC it just looks MUCH more competetive.
The Pac 10 USC - 94 UCLA - 81 Oregon - 81 Cal - 81 ASU - 86 UofA - 84 The SEC LSU - 91 Tennessee - 89 Auburn - 84 Georgia - 99 Florida - 94 South Carolina - 89 Ole Miss - 84 Alabama - 84 Competition wise...you can't beat the SEC. Just looking over those 80+ teams make you shake your head saying "damn".

You know...I'm actually a bit confused as to why the Big East is such a popular vote. There are only two teams in the entire conference with a rating above 80.
Cincinnati - 84 West Virginia - 84 ??? The Big 10 on the other hand has... Ohio State - 99 Michigan - 84 Penn State - 91 Wisconsin - 89 Northwestern - 81 Purdue - 84

Yeah, the Big 10 should be kicking the Big East's butt.

The Big East was my vote for one reason - Rutgers. I went to medical school there and they are my 2nd favorite football team behind USC.

The more I think about it, the more dissapointed I am that the Big East will be one of the conferences we use now. Since the quality of teams are so low, I would prefer not to be in that conference just for the sake of not wanting any chance of going undefeated in the first season.

me too. the Big East isn't the first conference you think of as far as college football is concerned (college basketball is a different story).i actually wish we could make it the Pac-10 instead of the Big East. i would like to change my vote, i hope this doesn't screw things up:
SEC Pac-10 Big-10 ACC |

If we start having everyone change votes, it could really screw up the voting as people could do so just to make sure their favorite conference makes it.

Maybe we should have a blind vote, and have people only vote for their top 2 conferences. |

I can see how this could get touchy very easily. The most important thing to me is that people are happy with the final 4 that are selected, and the decision to vote on those conferences was a educated one.

If enough people want to re-do the entire vote, then I think we should do a blind vote with PM's to me (with either 2 selections as Kodos suggests or all 4 being picked by each person.)

Double Dola -
I didn't think it was a big deal when Sun Tzu switched earlier because he did it in a short time frame when the vote was still wide open, otherwise, I would have made it an issue at that time. |

I'm ok with a revote...but I think we should have both the sub 80 teams, and above 80 teams posted for each conference. How about we each do a blind PM vote for our top three?

Are we really that good to go "unbeaten" in our first few years, with crappy teams, on AA, in the BE or any other conference? I mean, you should still struggle against the better and mid-level teams in any conference.
Remember, over time, the BE could get really go and the SEC could suck. Good recruiting is key. Last edited by Galaxy : 06-20-2008 at 12:02 PM. |

I see your point Galaxy, I do. I just want to make sure that everyones votes are educated votes, not just "well this conf only needs one more...hell why not." If everyone else other than HA likes the way they voted, I don't see why we would have to revote...but if we get 2-3-4 people that want to change theirs, then I think we are going to be forced to revote. The important thing is that we eventually get this right, whether that means sticking with what we did and making a small adjustment, or just revoting entirely.

I'm going to make an executive commish call on this and start a blind re-vote. I'll PM anyone who hasn't PM'd me their vote by this evening. I think voting for 3 conferences is a good compromise btw picking 2 and 4. Of course, the top 4 will get used unless the vote is within 1 for conferences that would be selected and those that wouldn't be in which case we'll determine what needs to be done at that point.
