Yeah, it's not "fair", but it's normal for owners to have different repercussions than players.

The Roethlisberger stuff was a long time ago, and anything pre Ray Rice was a different standard, plus Brown also wasn't released because of the allegations, he was released because he kept sending texts to the accusers, but he's delusional so who knows if he understands that.

Good call on Tepper Steve.

Actual football wise, interesting call by the Ravens to to for two down 30-19. I don't hate it because even after failure you have a 2nd chance to go for it if KC doesn't score, but I'm super aggressive on 2-pt decisions, and Baltimore hasn't been consistent on O today.

Also, I might jinx them, but is Detroit actually good? A win today would be big for the future wild card race.

Fun fact for all non-Giants fans. In 9 quarters of play in 2019, the Giants defense has given up 1000+ yards, and have ZERO takeaways.

Someone should tell the 49ers to stop turning the ball over. 2 INTs and 2 Fumbles Lost in the first 18.5 minutes of the game.

It's a good thing for you that the Steelers look like they have no idea how offense works.

Ok, if you're a betting man, and you had the Pats -21 and the Under of 43.5, you must be... perturbed right now.

Tampa Bay had under 300 yards off offense in their first 2 games. They had 322 yards of offense in just the first half against the Giants.

At least Daniel Jones looks really good so far. He has a fumble, and a dropped pick, but overall he's looked very good.

I was just telling my wife he looks like he belongs. Obviously will have growing pains but he doesn't look overwhelmed by the stage or speed of the game. Really happy with what I am seeing. I loved Jones coming out and wanted the Giants to take him, but thought they could have got him at 18.

Yeah, i think he was an overdraft at 6, but I coached briefly at Charlotte Latin a year after he went there & everyone had amazing things to say about him. Might've been the smartest kid in the school (committed to Princeton before Duke offered), humble, great work ethic, nice person.

Also, that Seattle/NO non-PI on review is why this half measure system is an abomination. "Pass interference" can be reviewed, but since the ball hadn't left Wilson's hand it would be defensive holding & that's not up for review? Okay then.

I like his pocket presence(despite the fumbles) and anticipation. All the great ones have it. That pass to Shepard is the type of play very few QBs can anticipate. Really didnt have much there but he made the perfect pass.

Probably should put the Giants in there as well especially if Barkley is hurt for awhile.

I just checked and SF is 2-0? How? soon to be 3-0.

Idk, the 'Phins might get Pit's pick. How often do you go +5 on turnovers and find a way to lose the game?

Danny Dimes! 2 through the air, 2 on the ground.

I fully expect the defense to screw this up and give up a game winning FG though.

EDIT: Well they certainly tried. Missed FG and Jones gets his first win.

Brady wouldn't allow the OL to look that bad. Great leaders hold people to a standard, but Fitzpatrick & Rosen are put in an impossible spot where the players don't know who will be playing QB (or coaching, or GM'ing) in a year, so accountability is impossible to demand.

Sadly I have to put my beloved Cards in the mix for the #1 pick. No defense against a backup non-drafted QB and no offensive line to protect him. Can't imagine Murray will make it through the season without an injury

Browns really blew it late. Collinsworth couldnt stop bragging up Baker and I thought he was awful tonight. 1st down and goal at the 5 with 3 timeouts left and 40 seconds on the clock. The only good thing the Browns had done all night is run the ball... They run 0 run plays...

Aaron Donald looked like he was playing against a high school line. He dominated that game.

Two games to go against the Rams defense, and they have a bad track record of ruining Cards QBs.

The BEngals are at least trying to play. The new system, the injuries on the o-line, the utter fart-bending-mind-blowing-stomach-shurning stupidity of bringing back Andre Smith at OT....

That said, 2 losses by a total of 5 points.

I'm not bitching, yet.

I've never quite understood/believed the idea of 'scripting the first 15 plays' in football. If it's 3rd&1 and your script says deep pass, or it's 3rd&12 and your script says inside run, that's what you call, regardless? How is that supposed to help you?

The "script" wouldn't have any plays that are solely one thing like "All Verts" or something like that. But even then, if it's 3rd and 1 and they don't want to run the play they scripted, they'll go to their "3rd and short" column.

Coaches do script the first 10-15 plays, but they don't stick to it regardless of the down and distance. If they have to come off it for a play, they will, and then go back to their script. This is how coaches make sure they give a defense a certain look a few times, and then later in the game they go back to it but do something different. I mean, they are plays they think will work, but they're also setting up the defense for later in the game.

Quote:

No, that's what coaches mean when they talk about getting "off script" or "off schedule". It means they have to come off the normal plays they want to call and have to go to their "3rd and long" column. A few short drives with a few 3rd and longs, and now it's the 2nd quarter and they've only made it 5 plays into their script, and they're "off schedule".

Thx! All of that makes perfect sense...but also barely qualifies as 'scripting the first 15 plays' as it's presented & of course, no commentator has ever explained those caveats.

I don't think anybody should get fired, but it's frustrating that, just like the Reds, the season is over almost before it began.

Weird ricochet shot. The only really dirty on field Patriot player I can think of is hanging out in the studio every Sunday evening (and being the reasonable one, because Tony Dungy can go to hell with his holier than thou BS.)
