What Jerseys From Your Favorite Team Do You Have?
I thought this would be pretty interesting.
I have: Mark Brunell Tony Boselli Ernest Wilford Byron Leftwich David Garrard Donovin Darius Tony Brackens Aaron Beasley Fred Taylor and I was looking at buying Joe Zelenka today because he's the long snapper and I think it's hilarious that our long snapper is one of the 20 or 25 current and former Jaguars who have their jersey on the main page.

My son has Tom Brady and Bruschi. I have a custom shirt; too many of these guys in these days of FA leave just as you buy the shirt. I have an autographed game-worn Carolina Cobras jersey from Corey Johnson, and he left in FA before I ever got to wear it to a game. I figure I've got about a decade now that the AFL is defunct before I can sell it for enough to get my $200 back (unless Pumpy wants to buy it...)
I did almost buy a Matt Groethe shirt two years ago when the Bulls were ranked #2. Fortunately I waited a week and dodged the bullet when the wheels fell off the season.

I have a home and an away Marino jersey. That's it. I actually don't really wear jerseys anymore. Seems hard to pull off as an out of shape guy nearing 40.

Dan Marino 13 Dolphins home jersey from the late 90's
Ruud van Nistelrooy 10 Manchester United 2002-4 home jersey I haven't bought one in years and neither of these guys still play for the same team. Last edited by Big Fo : 04-21-2009 at 06:18 PM. |

Dan Marino
Daunte Culpepper Chris Chambers I'm also one of those dorks who has a baseball jersey with their own last name on the back and it's a retired number nonetheless (White Sox #16 - Ted Lyon's number). But I wanted a jersey after the White Sox won the World Series and I couldn't decide what jersey I wanted (was leaning towards Buehrle or Jenks), so I went with a custom jersey of my favorite number and my last name instead. I feel self-conscious about it sometimes and kind of stupid when I wear it, but there's a personal reason why I became a White Sox fan and that reason is also partly why I got the custom jersey I did.

I have four WVU jerseys: one blue and one gold #5 (Pat White), one gold #7 (Noel Devine), one blue #6 (Grant Wiley). And, I have a white Hines Ward Steelers jersey. I had a Penguins jersey, but I haven't seen it for awhile.

I only have one jersey with a name or number on it. It's an orange John Elway jersey. Almost bought a Jason Elam jersey three years ago. Almost bought a John Lynch jersey two years ago. Almost bought a Jay Cutler jersey last year. Yeah, I think if I ever get another Broncos jersey, I'll just go with another longtime Bronco who has retired. I'm thinking Steve Atwater, Shannon Sharpe, or Rod Smith. Or maybe I can get my hands on a comedy Justin Armour jersey.

Alex Rios (Jays) Warren Moon (Oilers) Shaun Alexander (Seahawks) Lofa Tatupu (Seahawks) Still need to pick up a Halladay (hopefully Jays, sigh), a Walter Jones and some version of an Yzerman (leaning towards a Team Canada or an original 6 Wings version) at some point. If I could find one cheap enough, I'd pick up an old school Oilers Klima jersey for our NHL 94 tournaments too

For the record, I haven't purchased a jersey in probably around 14 years, but prior that I acquired:
Chris Spielman - Lions A blank Red Wings (signed by Don Cherry and Ron MacLean outside of the the MCI Center the night the Wings won the Cup in 1998) Petr Klima (Red Wings and Oilers) (REPRESENT!) Sergei Fedorov All-Star Jersey The only one I ever really wear, and wear only rarely (e.g., when I attend a playoff game) is the blank Wings jersey.

This had been such a nice thread until you had to go and do that. For that, I give you the 3 faces of Horcoff.

Two Favre's, both home green. One is a cheap one while the other one is a nicer replica jersey.
A Houston Dynamo replica, but with no number/name on it. I cheap Astros jersey with no name/number. I would like a retro Astros jersey, a retro Packer jersey, and maybe some others. I just don't like the prices of them.

I've got a #25 Pitt football jersey (Shady), LT, Brees, Merriman Chargers replicas and a Rivers authentic. Also have a circa 2000 unpersonalized Sharks jersey.
My brother has had horrible luck with his jerseys. He's a Chicago fan and he has a Anthony Thomas, Greg Olsen and Mark Prior jerseys. His only good one is Walter Payton but it's hard to go wrong with a Hall of Famer's jersey. |

I've been going the throwback route since getting stuck with a Mark Prior jersey.
Marino - '84 Dolphins Ripken - '83 Orioles I've also got an old Forsberg jersey from his 2nd year in Colorado. I think that around '95? I picked up the Prior jersey near the end of the '03 season and believe I single-handedly cursed his career. I also take some blame for the fall of Luol Deng as I was briefly considering picking up his jersey. So, I'll consider taking bids for owning jerseys of current up-and-coming players that you hate. |

I have a bunch in my closet that I bought when I was a teenager...I should give them all to goodwill.
The only thing resembling a jersey that I wear now it a black Lincecum jersey t-shirt..and come to think of it I can't find it anywhere.

I've got four: a Rockies jersey (plain), a Sens jersey (replica, plain), a Panthers jersey (Rocket Ismail *grumble, grumble*), and a sort of, kind of, NC State football jersey that has just a number on it (don't even think it's officially licensed, but was generally similar to the State jerseys of the mid-to-late 1990s).
The Ismail one irritates me because it was 1996 or so and the Panthers had picked Mushin Muhammed in the draft and he had a good rookie year, so I asked to get his jersey that Christmas. Somehow the wires got screwed up and I wound up with Ismail. Hindsight has only made the mistake worse with time. I still hang on to it, though, even if I don't wear it. It's I think the only piece of Panthers clothing I actually still have. I really need to get a Canes jersey, though. Just wish they didn't cost an arm and a leg or I'd have already gotten one by now. |
