Oregon a good or bad job? Good facilities and money, decent expectations, but Pac-12. Like is the Pac-12 good or bad - seems like lower expectations across the board and not as much competition so could be cushy-ish to just be good but not great.
Washington? Similar to Oregon in a lot of ways.
Florida? Seems like really good recruiting location and SEC without crazy insane expectations but maybe I'm not paying enough attention
Iowa actually came to mind - as long as you get on the right side of the fans, I think they'll give you a lot of rope and they don't think they're Ohio State or even Michigan
What about middle of the pack programs with decent track records and not too high of expectations? I think the problem there is that if you do well for long enough, people expect you to punch above your station. I'm thinking something like an Arizona St, UNC/NC State, TCU? Probably more I'm not thinking of.

The damn B1G leadership keeps screwing things up. This was supposed to be championship weekend. 1v 1, 2v 2, etc. Now it is a modified rivalry weekend.

Iowa gets Michigan who sucks and has cashed in the season. So we may not be playing.

We should be playing Indiana, which would have been a fantastic game.

Lot of IU folks agree. Especially since IU-Purdue seems unlikely to be played on Friday. (And why schedule it on Friday?)

I assume this news means Art Briles is reformed and has been forgiven and should get a second chance to coach in CFB. But anyway, I just came here to post that he now looks like Billy Bob Thornton playing the Tiger King.

I imagine IND/PUR will be the 1st of many in the last weekend of B1G play. I fully expect Michigan to bail. Harbaugh doesnt want to lose to Iowa. His seat is warm enough.

So if Michigan cancels will they go with Iowa-Indiana on Sat night? Seems like that's what people wanted to see anyway.

Michigan apparently had a 'spirited' practice on Sunday, which led to some raised eyebrows. I think they will play this week.

Looks like UM/Iowa getting cancelled due to acceleration of Covid issues at UM.

That sucks. The B1G screwed Iowa by matching them with scUM and not Indiana. But the B1G was protecting tOSU and their shitty 5-0 schedule (Indiana excluded).

That's been the rumor. Georgia push for an OOC game Saturday, but haven't found a dance partner yet.

The hang up is going to be UGA wants to play at home. They really want the game mostly to have Senior Day. They have only played 3 home games all season (6 away), so they definitely are only going to play at home. They have been talking to Colorado State.

Just saw a post pointing out the updated recruiting rankings at ESPN show the only six programs to win a playoff game are currently the top six in recruiting.

Tom Allen wins Big Ten Coach of the Year. Only the second IU coach to win that, with the other being Bill Mallory. Nice to see him get some recognition for the great job he has done. I hope we can keep him for a long time.

I saw that all teams are eligible for bowl games this year. If enough teams decline, I hope 0-9 Kansas is ready for the call!

Look, Liberty Bowl or Texas Bowl? You want some boring game with TCU and Arkansas or do you want to be the infamous Toilet Bowl game between winless Kansas and Vandy that we'll remember as a trivia question for at least 25 years?

Hey, low blow.

But yeah, a 3-7 team doesn't really deserve a bowl game. Regardless of the bowl games, I do think the Top-3 are worthy. 4&5 could be swapped out but whoever wins 2 straight is worthy to be the NC.

Some sad news out of Coastal Carolina (and Baltimore Ravens):

Star running back while he was at Coastal, Lorenzo Taliaferro died of a heart attack in VA yesterday. He was a former 4th round pick of the Ravens too:. 28 years old

More sad news out of Coastal Carolina-the Sun Belt had to cancel the championship game between them and Louisiana because of a positive case of COVID. With contact tracing, a whole position group was in danger of not being available for the game. The team's status for any potential bowl game is now in jeopardy too. Coastal had mostly avoided any major instances of COVID-19, with other schools being the reason for any delay.

Now it's hit them at the worst possible time

How do you share a conference championship when you're undefeated and beat the team you were supposed to play?

Yeah its because the Sun Belt has two divisions and the two division winners meet in the Championship game. Otherwise I think they would have named Coastal conference champion.

The horrible thing is CC begged the conference to cancel their meaningless last game so they would be protected for the title game.

Part of the problem with the Sunbelt is that they created two five-team divisions for the sake of having a conference championship game. So, each team plays every team in the league except one cross division opponent. The conference championship game is almost always going to be a rematch.

The most absurd conference is the Bix XII, where every team plays every other team (nine conference games), and the conference championship is a guaranteed rematch every year. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

On the other end of the spectrum, you have the SEC and ACC, where you only play eight conference games, and only play cross-divisional opponents once every six years (except for the permanent rivalry game). So, Alabama and Georgia play each other once every six years during the regular season. You have players that finish their college careers without playing some of the teams in their conference, which is just as absurd as the Sunbelt and Big XII. At least the Big Ten plays nine conference games, so they don't have the same problem with the two seven-team divisions.

Bielema to Illinois. Seems like a decent hire given his success in the B1G.

I know he had a lot of success in WI but no so much with the Hogs. Overall a good guy in AR but didn't get much done.

I know some will say he didn't have much to work with in AR in the SEC, but Petrino's success has shown the fallacy of that argument. Wish him well.

Right, I think getting back into the B1G makes sense since that's where he was successful. Bielema in the SEC never made sense to me. Plus, Illinois is probably looking for someone to simply make them relevant/average again. If he can set the next guy up for real success even if he can't bring them all the way back, it's a good move.

I'm really torn on wanting to see Ohio State lose but that all but guaranteeing Jimbo a trip to the playoffs.

There is great irony that this might have been the year Michigan could beat OSU.
