I think my class will be better than those. That said, O-line is where I clearly need the most upgrading given my inability to run or protect the QB. Losing out on one of the top G's hurts me more than losing a guy at some other position. So it goes.

Love the "Spanking the Hapless" headline on the website--especially because the hapless team is Ohio State.

After being sacked 4 times on my first six plays against a pathetic 1-6 Florida, I was ready to quit the dynasty. I'd been hit twice before I finished my dropback on the quick slants play, fumbling the ball away both times, and had accumulated -4 total yards.

But then Florida's QB started to play like absolute crap and I was finally able to move the ball a little. I ended up taking only 2 more sacks and, for the first time this season, was able to run the football with a little success. Duke won comfortably, 24-3.

All was well that ended well last night. But it sure was a miserable start. I can only complain so much when I am 5-2.

I simply do not understand why you can't seem to drop back without being sacked. It makes no sense.

In our game against somehow ranked 2-3 Stanford, we shut their offense down until they resorted to blind luck in order to move the ball. They scored 31 points, but 21 of that was on pick 6's, as my QB was terrible carrying the full load on his own with the other head of the two headed QB monster out for 6 weeks with a back strain.

Couldn't seem to get in a rhythm or throw balls over people, so eventually I had to settle for pounding the ball down their throat until they started playing heavy against the run. Later in the game we opened up a decent lead finally on 2 deep connections to WR Kelvin Joseph. One was a jump ball he actually won, but it shouldn't have ended up as a jump ball anyway. The second was a wide open easy score where they played the wrong coverage against him running a streak. He had about 10 yards on his guy and coasted in on that one. Other than him, we really struggled to throw the ball. Didn't really run it well either, but we did manage 10 yards or more every 3 plays and slowly got ours most of the time we had the ball.

I think at halftime their QB was 2/11 for 12 yards, and he didn't complete a pass until there were less than 3 minutes left in the first half. Best defensive game we've had all season.

Indiana clobbered Oregon 49-17 to take some of our frustrations from the USC game out on another team.

10-3 win over Nebraska. Part of the low score was long drives - our first took up most of the first quarter and ended with a FG. We had a hard time stopping Nebraska's option plays, their QB got some nice runs off it, but we finally slowed it down in the second half. We got the winning TD off a scramble by our lumbering freshman QB when everyone was covered, he took off around the right with linemen who were even slower chasing him, and the safety got there just as he strolled into the endzone.

That came after we forced a fumble at our own half-yard line, and then drove 99-1/2 yards for that key TD. We forced 2 other fumbles that they recovered, one after our lineman dove first and missed it.

I kind of took it to Boston College, but my backups allowed them back into the game in the 3rd so I had to bring in the starters to finish it up.

I did manage 2 KRs for TD's which is a first for me.

We won...
But they have started keying on Whaley. I moved him to starter and he barely broke 100yards...

Qite the different game the last few weeks.

BTW seems like I was the last holdout and we are ready to advance.
Here is hoping a certain target was impressed enough on his visit to jump on board.

I wonder why NCAA doesn't auto advance like Madden does. Not that it is that big of a deal, but it seems like it should.

And we take down another ranked team. #25 Rutgers comes into Buffalo and has their dreams shattered. That loss to Toledo hurts, like really bad.

Anyways, 38-11 was the score we were well rounded and attacked on the air and the ground and just went with a methodical eat the clock offense opposed to our normal hurry up.

Texas A&M offered absolutely no resistance - 30-0 after 3 quarters, we put in our subs, finished 37-7. Disappointed at the 3 FGs we kicked, but most important was meeting the bonus goals for our 3 recruits in town this time.

It started like I might have a chance at triple digits. I was up 21-0 less than 3 minutes into the game....but 4 turnovers by me kept me from triple digits even if it didn't keep it close.

Pierre Whaley had his best game yet setting the school record for rushing yards in a game and tieing his personal record for rushing TDs in a game.

And we managed to sign our first 2 recruits. Both OTs.

I wiped the floor with the Auburn Tigers last night. I still couldn't run the football, but my receivers were open all game. My QB was able to get the ball out so quickly that the pass rush wasn't an issue.

I had a bunch of recruits in the stands. I'm hoping they all enjoyed the game.

After allowing Notre Dame to come back from an 11-point deficit in the second half, we were able to drive down and get the winning touchdown with 23 seconds remaining. A couple of Hail Marys later, we sealed the win, 38-31.

One of our WR's fumbled on our first play and Wisconsin recovered for a very short field and jumped to a 7-0 lead. Then, Thurman went to work and was 12 of 12 at one point as we jumped to a 21-7 lead. He was nearly perfect in the first half except for one very bad throw for a pick as we took a 28-10 lead to the half with Thurman having 251 yards passing in the 1st half. We leaned on the run more in the 2nd half as we cruised to a 56-13 win over Wisconsin.

Put the Aggies down like dogs and relished every second of making Brian Football's life a living hell. He completed almost all of his passes, but threw 3 of them into our hands out of his 6 incomplete passes. Tried to run on us, but we forced him to fumble once as well, and his 4 turnovers turned into 28 points for us as we cruised 55-14.

Now we gear up for the Dukies. It's gonna be a huge one, we need to win to stay on the path toward a shot at that title. Coach Ches O'Peake is certainly gonna have his squad ready.

Stanford's defense was very tough on us early and Thurman threw a ball into double coverage that got picked early ending our first drive. We methodically moved the ball our next 2 drives and went into halftime only up 14-7 despite holding them to 40 yards of offense in the 1st half.

In the 2nd half, we figured out their defense some as Thurman made some amazing plays with his leg. We cruised to the win behind over 100 yards rushing and 250 yards passing from Thurman.

Fell behind 17-0 before taking the lead 21-17.

End up tied at 24 with the ball and 50 yards to go. Hit a 45 yard FG with 7 seconds left that bounces off the cross bar and through for a 27-24 win.

We took out our frustration on ASU's real life exploits by demolishing ASU in this game. We lost our speed back to an injury on the first play of the game, so we went pass heavy. We were up 49-3 at the half as Thurman had over 300 yards passing and 5 TD's passing in the first half. We had over 500 yards of offense in the 1st half.

We cruised to a 77-3 win which had a few notable stats:

Thurman had over 500 yards of offense before leaving the game for his likely successor.

Thurman was 14 of 14 at one point in the game. He finished completing over 80% of his passes for 451 yards and 7 TD's passing.

Thurman set a school record with his 20th rushing TD of the season.

Thurman completed passes to 11 different receivers.

Freshman speedy CB Edgar Franklin got his first career interception and made it a pick 6. I think that is our first defensive TD in at least a few games, maybe our first this season?

Heisman race should be interesting between USC and FAU. I think I'm going to try to back off running with my top back. I don't want him thinking about leaving for the NFL early...

Our starting QB went down early, and his backup threw 5 interceptions and fumbled it thrice, losing the ball twice. Still, we won 45-10.

With a freshman QB, we just aren't going to get those 70-point blowouts like we should, especially in the rain. Nevada's QB was especially slippery in the rain, bouncing off tackles regularly. Still, their offense was hit or miss, and only managed a late TD. We missed a few throws, so had to punt a couple of times, but still dominated a 34-7 win.
