PING: The FOFC Elite

This post about Maximus passing away has been making me think...

I of course don't include myself in the "who's who of FOFC" list. But if I did and I was as important to this board as a lot of people here are then I might even consider writing something into my will so that a family member could make a commemorative post for me after I pass on. This way other forum members would know what happened and there wouldn't be any confusion around the events and if I'm really gone or not.

So Jeeber, Honolulu, Cougar, Kodos, et al. get on this STAT. If something happened to one of you guys and the board didn't know about it it'd be like having a main character from one of my favorite books just disappear with no explanation from the author. We can't have that, so let's resolve this little issue before it becomes a real problem.

Sorry, I can't name everyone, but you know who you are. Let's get on it kids.

If I post on this board everyday, doesn't that already mean I have no life?

on a totally un-sports related board that i spend alot of time on, one of our members died in an accident in december, and when a post letting us know about it went up, it was quickly one of the most read and responded to messages ever...i dont know anything about the maximus thing, but depending on how much of a community this board really is (my other board, alot of us have actually met and get together regularly), losing a member like that can be quite crushing.

Was it the post where I quoted myself admitting that John T was really me?

Holy crap, JeeberD. You have over 10,000 more posts than me in a year-and-a-half less time. I was once top-three in post count.

Those were the days...

Me too! I'm pretty excited about this. As an Elitist, I understand that I now have special duties and obligations to this board and its members. I will look to take the necessary steps and will inform Lady H_B.

I'm dying in ten or twelve years anyway. If I die, and I'm still writing for SCG, they'll probably run with something. You'll know there.

I've already set up a carrier pigeon service just for this occurrence. So if anyone has a pigeon with a note show up by your window... you should already know the truth.
