The Most important game of the week is tonight!...well for me at least.

Let's go beloved Cards-win tonight and you clinch a playoff spot!

Just how good is the Cardinals run D? I'm trying to decide between Tre Mason and Latavious Murray in FF playoffs.

It has held every top runner to less than 100 yards, that includes Charles, Lynch, and Murray, so I'd say its pretty good-don't remember what Mason did in the earlier STL/ARI game. I'd go with Murray given how he's played this season

Fine, I'll do the smart thing. Regular season I always play the prime time game guys if it's close, just because I'll actually be watching them play, but it's playoffs now.

Why not? Especially these days with the risk of addiction much more well known and QB's much more protected.

How is that not a blow to the head of the quarterback? How are the announcers not even pointing that out?

Wow, that career 0-7 TD to INT ratio doesn't give you confidence.

whew and woot! Cardinals are in the playoffs! (unless Dal/Phi tie) But man how many more QB's will they go through before then? At least Stanton will get a few extra days to recover (I think they play Seattle Sun night). Defense was just incredible tonight-besides Peterson they were basically playing with 2nd and 3rd stringers in the secondary. They are going to have to find somebody other than Lindley that can actually throw the ball to a receiver.

Was not a big fan of how Coach Arians gave the ball back to the Rams basically without a fight with under 2 mins to go-Fitzgerald wasn't out there to at least provide some deception that they might throw the ball and then 3 runs up the middle. I mean we're talking Ryan Lindley here, but surely he could have thrown the ball to the outside once there? Instead you gave the ball back to one of the best returners in the game right now and then several chances to the Rams there to get close enough for a TD chance.

Excited my beloved Cards are in the playoffs, but really worried Stanton has a long term injury.

This Rams team reminds me quite a bit of the 98 version. There is some talent there on both sides of the ball. If they get a good OC and a good QB, they are a Super Bowl contender. That said, I don't think we will hire a new OC, and we don't have a Trent Green or Kurt Warner on the team.

The idea that a coach will divulge that information makes Cam more of the exception than the rule in my eyes. The risk of addiction is as well known for the other players yet most talk about getting shot up enough to get themselves back on the field. As far as QB's being much more protected, Newton has been hit 467 times over the last three seasons. No other QB has been hit more than 267 times. Yes, it is due to him running around in the pocket and downfield but he is still getting hit.

Or

Welcome to the NFL playoffs. Watch the term "game manager" get beaten to death for as long as the Cardinals last.

Also, I may be the only one in America that thinks the Cardinals could actually hold onto home field. People forget Green Bay is mortal outside of home.

If it was a fragile QB it could be an issue with his teammates, but Newton's missed one game in 4 years. When he fractured multiple ribs 3 weeks before, and was still begging to start. The fact he gets hit so much only reinforces how tough he is and that he's probably played through a ton of pain. Good for him.

He certainly would like the Cards "throw down the field often" offense...Kurt Warner's right there at NFL Network, still looking in good shape...

Actually you know who would be a good fit...Tyler Thigpen-very mobile, decent arm strength-but sadly probably less accurate than Stanton, who wasn't exactly stellar there himself. Also he'd likely be under an NFL suspension immediately given his recent DWI arrest.

If you start hearing hysterical crying later today, you will know the injury report on Stanton is in

I probably would too lol. But given the QB injury curse that has hit the Cards this season, he'd probably be knocked out of the game on his first play with a broken leg.

That some of the most prominent NFL writers out there don't understand why the Rams were stupid for kicking that field goal at 4th and 1, and continue to parrot "the game is over if they don't get it" is so amazingly entertaining to watch unfold.

Well how about quiet sobbing? It was feared initially to be an ACL or MCL tear and game over for the season, it is in fact a knee sprain (ACL and Grade 2 MCL), and is day to day. Fitzgerald had the same injury and was out 2 weeks. I'll take a gimpy Stanton over Lindley or Thomas.

Pretty sure grade 2 MCL sprain is a 2-4 week injury.

Dear Santa:

Here is my Christmas list...please take these cookies (shaped like footballs in Arizona Cardinals colors) as my everlasting belief in your existence (and not as the bribe as it may seem to be)

1. Have San Francisco be better than Seattle today to keep my beloved Cardinals in the lead of the NFC West (then they can be terrible again when they face the Cards last game of the season).

2. Have Buffalo this week and everyone else on Green Bay's schedule, beat the Packers. Thus making it easier for my playoff bound beloved Cardinals to get a bye in the first rounds of playoffs. I thought about asking for an injury to Aaron Rodgers, but that would probably put me on your "naughty" list.

3. Have Carolina by some Christmas miracle win the NFC South on the off-case that #1 and #2 you can't make happen and the Cardinals fall to a wild-card. Arizona owns Carolina in the playoffs. Given the recent scare with Cam Newton, won't it make for a nice Christmas story to have Derek Anderson to have a reunion with his "beloved" Cardinals friends?

4. Please have the Eagles beat Dallas tonight so my beloved Cardinals don't have the chance to play with a healthy Tony Romo against them in the playoffs. And because I think the Cards have a better chance against the Eagles. And because everybody hates the Cowboys anyway. I'm sure Jerry Jones is permanently on your "naughty list" right? And oh yeah for the love of Candy Canes, don't let them tie this week!

Thanks Santa, Merry Christmas!
Thomkal (not real name)

P.S. This was all done in fun for fans of the teams mentioned here-don't take it personally please.
