Looking for Abraham Lincoln “cameos“/citations in Films or TV Shows

Hey guys, currently working on a paper where some more examples would come in handy, especially since i might expand on it for a bigger work eventually ... Can be real short sequences and everything ranging from “named for him“ to old photographs or other documents and the material classic/new, mainstream or obscure.

For example Hateful 8 using a (fake) letter of his or the tv series The 100 having a character by the name and the remnants of the Lincoln memorial displayed, that sort of thing.

Would be neat if i could get some ideas from you guys

More than one appearance (in different forms) in Futurama I believe.

And a google out of curiosity mentioned one from Fight Club that you may have already thought of.

If theres interest i could list some “cliff notes“ and the english language literature i used after ive finished the paper.

Definitely look at Topdog/Underdog by Suzan Lori Parks, it features two African-American brothers names Lincoln and Booth and Lincoln works as a Lincoln impersonator that people come to assassinate.

On TV, look at The Savage Curtain episode of the original Star Trek.

Mr Smith Goes to Washington has an early scene at the memorial

Thanks That play sounds a great fit.

yeah, the scene in “Mr Smith ...“ is brillant , the way the recitation/reading of the Gettyburg Address is staged is a goldmine.

And yeah, depictions was easy in a way, though the more the merrier. Rather choose 10 out of 100 examples than 10 out of 11 getting “lincoln as idea/remnant/memory“ is the tough part . Ideally more stuff like Hateful Eight would be stellar, use of lincoln memorabilia of sorts as story tool or prop.

I know the play well and would be happy to discuss any of it with you. It's a great piece.

As bad as Crosby and the rest of them look, it still didn't prepare me in the slightest for her jumping out in that getup.

Ben Stiller used to play as Bruce Springsteen on his self-titled show on Fox years and years ago. If you check at the 2:48 mark here (Ben Stiller "Legends of Springsteen" - YouTube), you'll see him as Bruce Springsteen helping Abraham Lincoln with the Gettysburg Address.

There was some video years ago that showed Lincoln getting his hat shot off, and then he ducks behind his seat for cover and fires back. I can't remember what it was from... It's annoying me a bit. It was like a Naked Gun type of thing.
