Happy New Year 2020!
It's already way past new year's where I am at the moment. Which is somewhere over Eastern Europe heading to Israel.
Let's hope that this year brings good health, great successes and that our lives are filled with love and great sports sims! 2020... the year of perfect foresight!

The time we're living now will soon be known as the "early 20's"
And if you were born in the 70s, you're starting life in your sixth decade Last edited by molson : 01-01-2020 at 03:58 AM. |

Happy New Year!
When midnight struck tonight, I was in the dish pit at my restaurant, only one in the bullding. I think I finally noticed it was a new year around 12:15.

Just a reminder to check what laws may have come into effect in your area starting today.
e.g. In Florida, texting and driving is now banned (sort of), legal age for buying tobacco products is now 21, etc.

I was mentioning that to my wife last night. She didn’t like the sixth decade thing much. |

For 2019, I tried and failed miserably to read 52 books in the year. Just had a ton of shit to deal with, and got sucked into a bunch of TV shows, video games...you know the deal.
But, for 2019 I did read a paltry 13 books (6,632 pages). That's pretty pathetic for me, even for a year when I'm not trying for 52. The shortest book I read was The Templars: The Secret History Revealed (not a conspiracy theorist book, btw) at 232 pages. The longest (probably by far) was Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson, 1248 pages. The most popular was Ready Player One (773,134 other people on Goodreads read it), and the least popular was Ptolomy I by Ian Worthington (13 people also read it). And my favorite book from 2019 was Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb, book 3 of the Farseer Trilogy. Most disappointing was Ready Player One. I didn't like it much at all. I also read Neuromancer and was kinda disappointed in it. I think I might have built it up too much in my head because of how iconic it is. I might give it another try down the road. Anyway, 2020 is here and might as well try for 52 again. |

Just looking back at old threads (actually looking for a home meal delivery service thread), and found this. Proof that this whole mess of a year was started by Pilotman. It is all your fault, dude. You need to go outside, spin around three times, curse, spit and then come back in.

I vote he is never allowed to start another "Happy New Year" thread ever again.
Wait, maybe it's not him. Who didn't eat their black-eyed peas on Jan 1? Last edited by Edward64 : 09-10-2020 at 08:20 PM. |
