OSU with a tough win. Hurts the eyeball test though for them. But I'll take it.

Damarea Crockett is so much fun to watch run the ball. Going to be exciting to watch him grow!

Yes they look shaky.

Refs looking like they are on Indiana's side as well. Not reversing that long pass and the QB fumbled near the goaline. Indiana is playing well however and not making the mistakes that Michigan usually forces.

I think this outing does change things, as the committee does seem to give the benefit of the doubt about injuries until proven otherwise.

That probably goes away after today.

I keep seeing the score for VT-ND and thinking I should switch over to it, but the SD State-Wyoming, and Wazzou-Colorado games have been so entertaining I haven't gotten to it.

Also, I know the Texas Tech defense is bad, but giving up 66 to Iowa State doesn't seem possible.

SD State and Wyoming with an astonishing ending. Down 34-27 with :01 remaining, inside the Wyoming 30, the Aztecs throw the ball in the endzone and it's called incomplete. Fans rush the field, SD State complains, and a review overturns it. Aztecs decide to go for two and the pass is knocked down to secure the win 34-33, snapping SDSU's 18 game conference winning streak.

Razorbacks have been able to run pretty well against Miss State and leads 14-7 in 1Q. Looking forward to a good game and a rebound from the LSU game.

So against U-M, MSU, OSU and PSU -- Rutgers has so far been outscored 210-0. Score's misleading, though. It's actually somehow been worse.

At least our QB has 7 completions and we have 100 total yards, otherwise this would be ugly.

I would have to think so.

And it damned well better be the next to last game for Dave Wommack as the DC at Ole Miss. (I don't know if they have a bowl in them after this).

It ought to be the last but I figure they'll just ride out a miserable season with him now.

That is one useless SOB, can't coach a lick unless he's got exceptional talent. A trained chimp could do what he manages with an average squad.

Wyoming escapes with a win against San Diego State at home. If they beat New Mexico on the road next week, they get San Diego State again in Laramie in the conference title game.

Something just seems off when a running back rushes for 285 yards and his team is losing 49-28. #BringBackTheDefense

WVU has Justin Crawford run for 286 yards in a 28 point loss. That's some kind of impressive.

Never mind, he pops a big run with less than 30 seconds left and has 331 yards rushing with 6 seconds to go.

He's not disinterested. He just has some very critical flaws that he is struggling to overcome.

I heard on the radio yesterday that no one in the PAC 12 likes Mora. So they tend to try and run it up on him when they can.

Where's he going after this? That money owed to him from Texas should ensure a soft landing with whatever he wants to do next, but where does he end up after this?

He'll get another job. He was terrific at Louisville. (23-3 with two bowl wins his last two years there) He's got a reputation as a class act who cares about his kids.

He's probably a much better fit for a smaller program anyway.

Or he could get a DC role on a high level team if he doesn't want the head coaching role anymore. He'll find a spot.

I'm a big Charlie Strong fan, which says quite a bit given his history.

That said I was talking to another coach this week about him. The consensus was that for him to be happy and successful and recruit to his full potential he needs to be in a bigger city less traditional campus environment. He excelled at SC and Louisville in those atmospheres. This other coach made it a point that it isn't a black/white thing either... its more personality of recruit. He said Charlie excels at getting"edgy" kids and keeping them in line without trying to "reform" them.

All that said, it was suggested to me and I full agree that Strong at GT would be a FORCE.

GT (if Paul Johnson retires) or Mississippi State would be my guess right now.

A lot of dominoes are going to fall. Herman will be at Texas unless something crazy happens. That's who Oregon has wanted all along so they'll move further down their list and supposedly Holgorsen is in their top 3. Dana is entrenched in Morgantown and would prefer to stay, but I'm still not sure how much backing he has from the AD. LSU also wants an offensive minded head coach and will be looking. Both Mississippi jobs probably open up as well.

Has Tracy Claeys earned his job yet? Already at 8 wins, tying the two best years from Jerry Kill, with Wisconsin plus a bowl game left. Losses are in OT at possible B1G champ Penn State, 1 TD at home to Iowa, and 1 TD at 9-2 Nebraska. Recruiting class is around #8 of the 14 in the conference.

Miss St is the exact kind of job Strong needs to avoid. That would be a disaster for him in my opinion.

If I were strong I'd be looking at:
GT
NCSU
Louisville (its hard to go back, but if Petrino leaves there could be precedence)
FSU (They wont hire him)
Miami (not going to be available)

Charlie has great ties to the state of Florida for recruiting.
His style works in an metro area.

Sounds like a helluva fine line.

From a GT perspective, how many of those "edgy" kids that were hypothetically "unreformed" are going to maintain academic eligibility?

Plus, we're not that far removed from the whole Reuben Houston debacle. Makes me (and I would hope a lot of folks) a bit leery of too much "edgy".

Yeah, I have to agree, particularly given the context of the academic battles going on at GT right now. I think Strong has usually had good graduation rates, but I think he'd be recruiting an entirely different kind of student at GT. Edgy isn't going to be in line with the way the university has moved since O'Leary's flunk gate.

Edit: I also don't think there's going to be a job open at GT this season.

Report: Texas players threaten to boycott over Charlie Strong firing reports - CBSSports.com

Geez the new way of the world for the younger generation. I hope for our resident Texas fans that it doesn't come to this. Mizzou has become the laughing stock of the SEC and probably had our program set back 5-10 years because of this crap last season. Texas has a richer tradition and it's at least about football and not fake racism so they might not absorb the same hit as we did but nonetheless it's still embarrassing. I have an idea beat Kansas and maybe you don't get your coach fired.

Several Texas players said that talk of a possible boycott was real, but that there’s no way they would have followed through with it.

“Yeah, it was real, but we’re not going to boycott,” Texas senior receiver Jacorey Warrick said Monday. “We’re going to play. That was just people angry about expressing their thoughts. Coach Strong was not going to let us boycott that game.”

Quarterback Shane Buechele echoed those thoughts about a boycott.

“It’s not going to happen,” the freshman said.

Offensive tackle Connor Williams explained that it was just a volatile situation involving Strong.

“Everybody’s emotional about it,” Williams said. “As a point, we’re not just playing for Coach Strong. We’re playing for the university as a whole and Longhorn Nation.”

Any chance at all they stick with the interim guy?
I'm partial to WR coaches turned head coaches without ever being a coordinator.

Rutgers was out-gained by Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State 2,258 to 382.
