31-17 at the end of the 3rd.

This is the part of the game were the defense is worn out, and NDSU can open them up better. It's where the team has been at it's best all year long.

The Eagles made it close, after a 17 play, Bison drive stalled, and ended in a missed field goal, the Eagles scored in 4 plays to cut it to 1 score. NDSU grabbed the onside, and put the game away with a final TD drive. Final 38-24.

They didn't cover.

But they did win. FOR THE 7th TIME in 8 YEARS!

What.A.RIDE!!!

Congrats.

Now people will call for the playoff field to be expanded to 64 teams, for "variety"

I nearly went with the same joke but figured since he's a freshman I'd be rushing it

You'd only be rushing it because he's manage to hit just 1 upright thus far.

I'm glad Imagine Dragons finally took up the mantle of "Band name strongly implies it should be serving red-hot metal, but instead serves warm poop" from Molly Hatchet.

This is an incredible display of stunningly bad play calling on third and fourth down from Bama. Credit to Clemson D but whoever is calling this plays is getting fired the second the clock hits zeroes.

Clearly, Alabama wasn't motivated to play in this game since they weren't seeded in the NFL playoffs.

Can't fire somebody that's already resigned.
(new HC at Maryland immediately following the game)

Wow.
This was the team that was undeniably the best and possibly the greatest team ever.

I knew Clemson had a chance..I never thought they'd dominate especially without Dexter Lawrence

He was 3-31 as a head coach, got suspended for punching an assistant, sued for sexual harassment, and they already had him as a 1-5 interim coach who they declined to hire full time... it was always a laughable hire. But hey, at least they get Butch Jones as part of the package deal!

[sarcasm] Clearly Clemson is the only team who ever belonged, and it was pointless to even have a playoff this year as they should have been given the title pre-emptively. Also, anyone who at any point bought into Alabama having some kind of transcendent team or being more than a weak pretender should forever shut up about college football and let those who 'really know the sport' determine things [/sarcasm]

So those of you who really follow the entirety of the sport, are there any darkhorses for next year or are we looking at some combo of Clemson, Alabama, and UGA again next year?

Edit: I guess add Ohio St

The best thing about last night, was getting to watch Saban being handed his biggest career loss at Alabama, on the biggest stage, in the biggest game, by a big rival. It's one thing to get taken to the woodshed early in the season, like this? How many times have we seen the 'the best coach in college basketball' lose by 40 or 50 in the NCAA Tournament Final? It's one for the ages alright.

Saban looking completely baffled after the fake field goal was worth the price of admission. Taking nothing away from Clemson, I can't believe how Alabama melted down in key situations with really poor decision making.
