WW XCI: Office Space, the TPS Edition - GAME OVER - Insiders Win
Your life has evolved into sitting in a cubicle, staring at a screen and hoping to make it through another week. Life is hell, but at least you have a job and can afford to live.
Week after week, status report after status report, TPS after TPS, it's hard to take it anymore. Rumors begin to surface. Layoffs? Downsizing? Company going belly up? Every rumor you can imagine begins to be heard at the water cooler but not one of them is good. As you enter the office on one gllomy Monday it seems that life as you know it has changed forever. You feel even more helpless but have no idea why. As you sit and watch you PC boot up your mind begins to wander. Just what would life be like if I walked in and quit? How much worse could it be? The PC springs to life, you start up your email client. Ding! You've got freaking mail. It's from the corporate headquarters, this can't be good, this is never good. The company has hired a pair of "consultants" to evaluate everyone's position. You know what this means, this means to see who is important enough to keep and who can be discarded like yesterday's news. As the day begins you hear a coworker being called into the conference room. It's one of the network guys, you only know him by the name EagleFan. The door shuts behind him, suddenly a blood curdling scream is heard. The door swings back open and you see it, the look of terror in his face. His face turns pale, he slumps to the floor. Then you notice the pink slip, it is pinned to his back with a dagger. The company takes termination a bit too seriously. You stand up to run but to where? All the doors have been sealed shut. "The company will be cutting the budget today!!! AT ALL COSTS!!!" You hear coming from the intercom. Your owly hope is to band together with your fellow coworkers and strike back. One problem. Some have already been told they are going to be retained and have sold their sole to assist with the terminations. They all must be eliminated for you to remain. Will you live to see Friday? It's up to you!!! Normal werewolf rules apply. Specifics revealed within PM's may not be mentioned in thread (unless specically noted within the PM). The number of roled players will depend on the number of overall players. For the office workers: Eliminate the insiders. For the insiders: Get to a 1 to 1 ratio with the office workers. Roles Office Workers Peter - You have been relaxed beyond belief thanks to hypnotherapy gone horribly wrong. This relaxed state allows you to see things very clearly. Each "night" you may scan someone to see where their allegiance falls. Lawrence - You are an outsider, Peter's neighbor, who works construction across the street. You were in the wrong place at the wrong time. You got trapped after running into the building to use the john. You see what has happened and offer your protection to the workers. You may protect one person to protect each "night" phase. Milton - You have been burned by this company enough. When they took your stapler it became the last straw. You will finally rise up to make a stand, just one time, as you can change the lynch vote one time. Joanna - You are Peter's girlfriend. You wanted to surprise him at work this Monday morning for a little quickie in the copy room. You chose the wrong Monday to be in the office. You have PM rights with Peter and that's about it (youmay decide to do other things for him but that's entirely on you). Drew - You annoy your coworkers like the best of them. You do not know who the Insiders are but will become one if they come after you. You win or lose with the team that you end up on. The Insiders Lumbergh - You will do whatever it takes to keep your yearly bonus. You will take someone with you if they keep you from it. You are the brutal. The Bobs - You decide who goes next, along with Lumbergh's input. The number of Bobs depends upon the number of players. Nina - You look just lke a regular worker but you are one of the insiders. A scan will show you as a worker. Items Rope - Tie up a target to prevent them from performing a night action. or Tie yourself to a target for the night phase. or ??? Mask - Disguise yourself as someone else currently alive during one phase. or Disguise someone else as another person currently alive during one phase. or ??? Stapler - Passive protection from attack, small chance of success or Passive protection from blocked attack, small chance of success. or ??? Deadlines: "Day" - 8:00 PM EST "Night" - 10:00 PM EST General Rules - Votes held each day stage for who to lynch. - Tie vote results in no lynch. - Objects may appear within the game. Some may be usable for each side. Some may have more than one possible use and results may vary. Ask the mod if you have a question and use your imagination on how to use it. Size of the game may depend on the objects involved. - Revealing anything from your PM's will result in the lynching of the offender. Unless the PM specifies that you may reveal information or that you can reveal some of the information. - No editing of posts, though that should be old habit by now for WW players. - Votes are to be bolded to stand out. - "Nightfall" may be voted upon and needs unanimous approval. The availability of the "GM" to run nightfall will be the ultimate determination. - If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask. - Most importantly... HAVE FUN!!! I'm really hoping to be Milton. In.
Daytime deadline could be really, really terrible for me. In fact, I think it is pretty much a lock that I won't be around for it ever. I'm just hoping that I have enough time during the day to contribute somewhere near my normal level. |

No - have been around FOFC for quite a few years now (starting in the 2k1 days). I started looking round the WW forum when Abe was running The Dungeon, and enjoyed reading along enough to stick around for a couple of WW games - liked what I saw enough to want to give it a try. Martin |
