NOFL Season 2 Week 3 Redux! Deadline is 12/18/08
I'm giving 2 extra days for everyone to get reoriented after the issues we just had, but I'd love to get the week done earlier. I've sent out invites to everyone to rejoin the dynasty which was restarted due to faulty servers causing several users to have inaccurate scores reported for week 3 that turned wins into losses. We'll keep our fingers crossed that we don't have a reoccurence of this issue. If you see anything wrong with your invite, let me know. If you don't have an invite by 8 Eastern tonight, let me know. Thanks for bearing with me as we tried to fix this issue.

I'm assuming everyone got their invite, ok? I haven't heard any problems from anyone, yet.

Okay, I know you just sent me another invite, but I'm gonna need a third invite to the league. I thought what had happened happened and it did. Apparently my Raiders Army league where I sent EF27 an invite was still active. I accepted EF27's invite and rejoined the NOFL. I then tried to retire from the league I had created and it retired me from the NOFL instead. EF27 sent me another invite and I tried the same thing. It retired me again from the NOFL.
Sooooooo...this time I retired from the league I created and I'm not a member of any league. I just need one more invite back into the NOFL. |

To anyone who had a problem with scores in NOFL ..
When you finished and uploaded did you check the HQ to see if your score uploaded? Mike1409 in EBFL is not able to upload his games, and on the EA Online Dynasty he doesnt shwo up as even in EBFL. I booted him and reinvited to see if it works. My theory is you guys played but it didn't upload so when EF advanced it simmed the games. I'd make sure to double check. |

Well Mike played 3 times, and when he exits and it uploads the score, he is taken to the HQ and it says he still has to play. |

I'm 99.9% certain that when I advanced, it said all of the teams that had messed up scores had played their games. Still, it is an interesting theory.

I did the same thing RA did, and retired from the wrong dynasty. Whoops

Thanks. Unfortunately I wasn't able to play my game. FWIW, my 360 froze on me before the coin toss, it froze on me during the game, and I said screw it. I played a game of Madden and it didn't freeze at all. I'll try again tonight or tomorrow, but regardless of the outcome, it'll probably say "This game was restarted three times" |

EF - when will you be done making changes to the dynasty? Was nearly done with recruiting and it kicked me out with a message "the commissioner is making changes" then I tried to reconnect and it kept disconnecting me. If you are done, will get my game in tonight.

Sorry about that. It does that when I send an invite. I'm done now, and it shouldn't be an issue again. |

I had a restart against Syracuse this weekend and got this message too. Luckily my second game went without a problem and I won like I did during Week 3 "the original"... |

I won this morning. Four restarts including the ones yesterday. I think this may be a bad omen that my 360 is about to die again. I hope not, but the last time this stuff happened, it was right before it died.

I beat Air Force 31-13, for the record. Let's see what result we get when we advance this time

Kentucky beats down Vanderbilt 52-7. We avoided any major injuries, which is always good. Next up is Georgia & Florida, both of whom are ranked in the top 3. Anyone else get a weird sense of deja vu when playing their game?

We lost 45-28 (the game was much closer then the score indicates). EA sucks.

Yikes. Sorry man
Maybe on the sim it will get reversed (again) and you'll get your win back. EA sucks |

Instead of blowing the TCU Horned frogs to smitherines like before the restart, I came away with a decent victory 60-40. For whatever reason my teams in all leagues still have a horrible case of fumblitis. In almost 3 years with both clubs I probably saw 3 fumbles total, and in the last 3 games I've seen 8. Anyways, Andrew Luck blew things up again. He passed for 452 yards and 7 TD's and once again established himself as one of the better young QB's in the nation.
Ironhead is the only one left!

Less than 24 hours til the deadline! Finally!
So I just had an idea (that others may already thought of). EF27, you should save the dynasty as an offline dynasty before you advance. I know that's already been stated. But what I don't think has been stated is what to do next. If for some reason the advance is corrupted, you should be able to advance the dynasty *offline* (before it corrupted). Then you can restart the dynasty & invite everyone back. Anytime I export an online dynasty to offline, it saves all of the games that people have already played for the current week. I don't know if this will screw things up royally...but I want to have a plan in case things get all jacked up again. I don't want the league to fall apart or anything. Thoughts? |

I'll save it offline before advancing. Hopefully, we won't have any more problems that will cause us to consider using this plan, but good to have a backup plan in place.

Honestly, this plan would only cause everyone to have to accept an invite. That's the only downside of this plan. Otherwise, I *think* all of the recruiting & games will already be saved and we won't have to replay anything. I think
Can't wait to advance! Oh wait...we play Georgia & Florida next, so maybe I can |

So the scores only get messed up during the advancing process?

I'm thinking that the scores get messed up because somewhere in the uploading/downloading of the files when I advance, something is missing. Therefore, I'm not entirely sure this will fix the problem as it may repeatedly be unable to find someone's file during the advancement process. However, this step should in theory mean that only the person whose score is getting messed up has to replay if we have to revert in the future.
Of course, everyone else would have to go through the acceptance process again and I'd need a partner to be the temporary commish as we set up the new NOFL file since I can't commish two leagues at once. |

Yeah it does. LSU just managed to put it away at the end with a late-driving touchdown and a touchdown return on an interception I threw in the final seconds of the game. |

Just FYI, Microsoft shipped my repaired console out today. It took 5 or 6 days for it to get to them so I should have it back around the middle of next week.

Since Ironhead is out for this week and everyone else is done (except for my recruiting) we'll go ahead and advance in just a few minutes.

You sure it wasn't 38-13? I'm looking at all of the scores now compared to what was posted in this thread. |
