RFL 2011, Week 15 - Deadline 7/26 (Sunday) at 11 pm EST

In Week 15, Notre Dame finds themselves still behind Rutgers in the race to get to the BCS championship game. In Week 14, #3 Rutgers defeated #16 Tennessee 33-17 to move up to #2.

This week, Notre Dame travels to USC to face the upset-minded Trojans.

Right now, Indiana vs. Washington is the projected Rose Bowl matchup, but whoever loses won't be smelling roses any longer.

I can play anytime after about 6PM PST Friday night. Available all weekend. You can pretty much pick a time and I'll make it happen.

Sounds good. I'll talk with my wife about what the best time might be.

Do you think if we can knock off the Trojans, that we can somehow jump ahead of Rutgers (who are .005 pts ahead)? Beating a 10-1 team ranked #11 in the country has to help.

Also, would a USC win put them into the BCS?

Not an expert, but seems like you've got a shot at vaulting over them... if you can beat EF.

If it's as good as last year, it'll be an epic classic.

Wow...We just can't pull it out. I don't know what happen with my kicker on that last kick-off, but he's going to be sent to the practice squad.

We did have another epic. USC kicked off to start the game and had a huge goal line stand to force a field goal. We promptly drove down the field, but ND almost stopped us. On 4th and goal from the 1, we gave it to our big halfback who punched it in for a 7-3 lead.

ND methodically drove down the field in the 2nd quarter, but we got our first interception of the day inside the red zone. I thought we might take control, but Galaxy made some great defensive plays and held us to a punt which ended up being horrible and giving him good field position. This time, he punched it in with 1:22 to go in the half to give ND the 10-7 lead.

USC's Corp orchestrated his finest drive of the game, often going with 4 and 5 WR's and scrambling for key first downs. With 13 seconds left, Corp ran it in to make it 14-10 at the half.

On our opening drive of the 3rd quarter, Corp paid the price for his scrambling as he fumbled it away. ND drove down the field quickly to test our red zone defense again. Our goal line defense quickly came through again which was the key to the game. We stopped them on 4th and goal from our 1. Our first 2 plays got us some breathing room, then we took advantage of an aggressive blitz to hit our young star WR Cannon for a 82 yard TD pass to make it 21-10.

In the 4th quarter, I thought we were going to put it away as we forced a punt from midfield, but this time we couldn't move the ball out of the danger area. Our punter had a crappy kick from our endzone and Galaxy's Jones returned it 38 yards for a TD. We stopped the 2 point conversion as we batted the ball down. That made it 21-16.

ND managed to stop our offense again with a few minutes left in the game. They quickly took advantage of the opportunity and methodically worked the ball down the field, including converting a 4th and 10. They scored to make it 22-21 with about a minute left. The kickoff was short and we started on our 40 or so. Corp led us to about the 25 with a few short passes and a run where he tip-toed down the side line for 15 yards. However, he was hurt with 30 seconds left or so. Our young freshman QB, Nelson, came into the game. He has blistering speed, so the first play was a 16 yard run from him that got us inside the 10. The next play Stewart, who has been huge for us all year, got to the outside on a run and ran it in 9 yards for a TD with 14 seconds left. Nelson hit Stewart in the back of the endzone for the 2 to make it 29-22.

ND tried 2 Hail Mary passes, but we were ready and knocked them both down to win the game and upset their National Title hopes. Great game, Galaxy.

Last night, Indiana had a wild one against Washington. We jumped out to a 14-3 lead after Longshore returned a kick for a touchdown. Washington fought back and had a two-score lead in the second half. Now it was Indiana's turn for a comeback. We went ahead late in the 4th on a touchdown by our reserve tight end, but Washington came right back and ran down the clock to 19 before punching it in for a 38-35 lead. On the ensuing kick return, our sensation freshman WR Razzone wove through all sorts of traffic on his way to the game-winning TD. A very fun and hard-fought game.

Yes, all of the games are played. I'm just doing a bit of recruiting (even though I know this is the last season) and then we are all set. I'll be done in a minute. Well, a few others haven't recruited either, but I don't know if they care to do so or not.

Washington, Penn State and Mizzou no longer recruit.

I still recruit too. I really want to get my core players a national championship, as that's something I haven't done in years.
