Post EA just now announces release of FOF

For those of you who didn't think EA did enough to market this game, I submit to you this, posted at sports-gaming.com on Jan. 19. I know some of you already saw it, but I just thought the timing was ridiculous, considering how long we've had this game. Here's the "news."

"Electronic Arts recently announced the release of Front Office Football 2001, a football management simulation game for hard-core pigskin fans. Front Office Football 2001 includes the NFL(TM) and NFL Players Inc licenses allowing players to act as General Managers (GM) of a real-life professional football franchise. Game is available on http://www.easports.com.

The Anachronism strike again.

I'm looking forward to seeing my product shifted to a download-only medium, then abandoned when some middle management squirt at a billion-dollar company loses his taste for the minutiae of a cola war.

Just to clarify, so I don't sound like a raving idiot...

It'll work out fine in the end. EA doesn't make wild promises, their checks don't bounce and the producers I'll work directly with are good people. The only negative is that a small product just doesn't capture their long-term attention.

Oh Jim,

Puhlease have some faith. I mean EA can do no wrong and I'll bet they'll be a pleasure to work with. Tell us how it goes, when you get there.

Well maybe this thread can be an alternate reality. Like:

c2/2001: "Hey, I just read that EASports recognized Jim's genius and have brought him in to lead their all new text sim division! And they're paying him BILLIONS! I heard his golden parachute includes an island in the Pacific and a lifelong supply of candy bars.."

From the other thread that cosmodave posted in...*

So are you trying to say that we don't have sweet tea in Texas? What makes you think that? I know that I've had sweet tea in numerous dive restaurants in this state...

*Other thread was un-bumpable

There's an imaginary line that runs across Florida, just about where Ocala is (just north of Orlando), that marks the border between Unsweet Florida and Sweet Florida. North of that border, you get sweet tea without asking. South of it, you're on your own with sugar packets.

Aside from national chains, it's pretty much exactly like that.

CosmoDave really likes to pick his spots, and he isn't afraid to wait for the right time to post instead of just posting willy-nilly.

He' playing too tight. He needs to loosen up his posting a bit more and take down some pots.

He's the Mike Sexton of posting.
