Thanks to 3 INTs by Duke that gave me 10 points and stopped him short of the end zone late in the game, we went to OT tied at 17. Duke punched it right in for a 24-17 lead. We hit a quick first down, then got stuck in 4th-and-11 from the 15. WR on a slant route ducks through double coverage for a first down conversion catch. Two running plays later and we punched it in, and I decided not to waste that 4th-and-11 conversion. We hadn't moved the ball very consistently all game, and I figured the next OT we'd lose it anyway. TE ran a drag route behind line, QB hit him in the hands, and the MLB hammered him to preserve the win for Duke, 24-23 in OT.

Good game Chesapeake, the 3 INTs were the only thing that kept us in it, we just cannot move the ball consistently against your defense.

You did a good job to put just enough pressure on me to cause me to make some hasty throws, and your DBs took full advantage of that.

One more half yard on that 2-pt conversion and you'd be headed to a BCS game instead of me. That game was a real epic. Good game.

I had trouble earlier this season against Chesapeake and his D as well. The few plays it looked like we were going to make were dropped by inexperienced WR, but we were never really close.

Must have been some sweaty palms on both sides during the 2-point conversion try. Congrats to Chesapeake!

That sounds like an epic game. My mother has been in the hospital since Thursday and I (and the other doctors can't figure out what is causing it), so I probably won't get my game in for a few more days, but I need a break sometime this week so I will get it done sometime before the deadline.

Still no idea what is wrong but my mother has had remarkable progress over the last 4 hours. She is talking regularly (or almost regularly) and moving her arms much better and her legs a bit. So much relief after 4 agonizing days.

Not a fun night of football. Got my ass royally kicked by Rutgers. Then the game froze during the closing highlights. The game went so poorly that I'd put in my scrubs to fulfill some "no redshirt" promise. It seems like whenever I do subs, the game ends up freezing. Ugh. I guess at least this time, it works in my favor. Usually it freezes during a victory...

Now I'm in the awesome position of if I win the replay, then I feel guilty because I know I lost the first game.

Here are the official in-game final standings for the regular season (not the inaccurate ones from the website).

I'd like some opinions on what I should do in my replay of last night's game. Part of me says I should make sure I lose to protect the integrity of the game (since I had lost before it froze); part of me remembers that I've had at least 3 or 4 games freeze when I was up big (subbing players seems to lead to freezing for some reason). I honestly don't recall if any of the replays ended up being losses for me. Anyhow, I'm internally conflicted on what the right thing to do is. Part of me thinks it would be cheap to move up on a replay when I'd already lost the original matchup.

A third option would be if I win, Rutgers still moves up to the Big Ten. I think that is the way I am leaning right now.

I think this makes since but will not mind if you go with any of the other options.

You could always just super-sim it to take it out of your hands. If you win then, it was meant to be...

Frankly, I don't really care which way you decide to go, I trust the owners in this league. And if that trust is misplaced, it's still just a football game on a console, and you still have to beat someone to win that national championship...

I am fine with whatever option you want Kodos. In other news, my mother continues to improve. I saw her actually stand with assistance of PT several times today.

I've decided that I will either replay the game or just supersim it, but in either case, Rutgers moves up. They kicked my ass and deserve to move up. It was one of those games where everything went wrong. Opening kickoff returned for a TD. My star WR got knocked out of the game on our ensuing kick return. Then a fumble sets them up deep in our territory. I had an interception where the Rutgers defender broke 6 or 7 tackles on the way to the endzone. At that point, I had hard hits and stripping on, so maybe that's how he broke so many tackles. In any case, it was a mindnumbing game.

EF - Glad to hear your Mom is doing better.

We won the Big 12 with a 49-31 win over Okie State. On to the BCS Title Game!!!

As for your situation Kodos, I'm fine with a replay.

ND jumped to an early 7-0 lead on a fumble return for a TD after sacking our QB. Their offense and defense dominated the first quarter and they were up 14-0 at the end of 1. Their screen game had several big plays against my blitzing defense. However, our blitz finally knocked out their QB and then a few plays later we took out their HB. At one point, they were eventually playing with their 3rd string QB and the backup QB's made mistakes allowing us to slowly get into the game. We were down late but a few great plays by star WR Colby Johnson got us a 35-27 win.

Possibly. I might have a trip to Dallas next week, so if that happens, I won't be able to. From 3pm Central today looks pretty good, as does all weekend. Once I find out about next week, I'll let you know. I can bring my copy of the game with me and play at either my aunt's or cousin's up there.

I'm at the hospital today with my mother and not sure when I will head home. I've been neglecting my other family (wife and little girl) because of so much time at the hospital, so I'd like to play a weekday next week if possible. But, if that isn't going to work, I can squeeze in a game this weekend.

Actually, it looks like my mother's transfer to rehab has been pushed back to Monday and I'm tired so will probably head home in time to play at 3 Central if you want.

Temple goes down 45-16 in the Independence Bowl, thanks to a pair of pick-6s, one of which was a 106 yard return from deep in our own end zone. Game was played in the rain, so we had a hard time moving the ball early and tackling their RB, but the defense forced 3 turnovers and we pulled away late.

GG, EF. I had no answers for your defense. My QB must have been pouting after losing the Heisman. He threw 10 picks all year, then 4 in this game. The punt return for the TD in the 3rd was the killer.

Good game, Cartman. Our LB Stover has been a sack machine all year and he gets great pressure up the middle on blitzes. Once I started blitzing him heavily, that is when my defense turned around this year. I agree with you that the punt return was the key moment of the game.

Fresno State's QB had a bad case of the picks, which was enough to allow me to control the football and coast to a 38-14 Rose Bowl win in our 1st appearance in the game since 1942, which was played on Duke's campus because of the black out on the West Coast.

Congrats on your second championship, EF27, and I am glad to see that your mother is doing better. Did you/they ever figure out what the problem was?

No. A few theories but nothing convincing and nothing provable. It is very frustrating, but I'm glad she is getting better. I was at the hospital all day today until she was finally discharged late this afternoon. She is now in rehab and will continue intensive physical therapy to hopefully continue to get better.
