Well, we've hit a new pinnacle with the league. The top 5 are all human teams.

We waded through a sloppy offensive performance and used our defense as an umbrella, allowing Mississippi State to dink and dunk until they made a mistake, and they made a lot of them. We were trying to focus on slowing down their RB and seemed to do a decent job of that, but they never really tried that hard to run it and the game got out of hand in a matter of minutes when we pulled down a few quick interceptions in a short span.

I doubt we have a ceiling much higher than #5 unless someone above us loses, but stranger things have happened. Not actively wishing ill fortune upon any of your teams or anything..

another tough loss

My #1 QB returned this week but was spraying INTs to open WR all day.

At half we found ourselves down 28 to 5.

We rallied back in the second half until we had the ball down 28-26 with the ball and under a minute...had a breakaway TD but stepped out at the 5 to prevent the miracle come back.

Run on 1st and 2nd they stuff and call timeouts...its 3rd and 2 and 42 seconds on the clock, a QB bootleg keeper and I plan to either walk int he endzone or step out of bounds and win with the FG. The FS rolls over and its not a walk in so I resign myself to run out of bounds. When from 5 yards back in the end zone the FS dives and strips the ball from my QB and then gets up and recovers the fumble despite me having a lead blocker and a HB in the area and there being no other Defenders....they kneel it out and win 28-26

I hate this game.

NBut recruiting is still going well

We were able to hold out the win against Temple and keep the lead in the MWC. I didn't realize this but my Freshman RB is tearing things up and is a contender for the Heisman.

UL-Monroe was completely outclassed against us. Except for 1 long pass where our defender fell down, they couldn't move the ball at all. By the end of the game, I felt bad for their QB who was sacked 12 times and knocked out of the game 3 times only to return each time. Our offense was slow to start but we really turned it on in the 2nd quarter and we built a 42-7 lead at the half.

Thurman, our star QB, had over 300 yards passing in the 1st half. He finished with almost 400 yards and 7 TD's before I pulled him and all of our starters. The backups had trouble finishing drives as we mostly ran the ball in the 2nd half and our run game struggled a bit. We won the game 49-7.

Our trip to Auburn turned out to be a tremendous defensive battle. My D was able to keep the lid on them for the most part, but was victimized by a couple of big plays to trail 14-13 at the half. My QB was sacked 7 or 8 times -- frequently by 3 and 4 man rushes. Not sure how that can happen so much, because my line isn't that bad. But it sure made throwing the football tough.

I had to double down on the run in the second half since I didn't have time to throw, but I was able to take a 20-14 lead. Auburn broke out a big run midway through the 4th, but I was able to knock him out of bounds before he scored. Auburn called the dive play from the 1 and the RB fumbled it into the end zone. The ball was knocked around and I had 2 players that looked like they were going to fall on it. They somehow missed, and a big, fat Tiger fell on it for the go-ahead TD.

I had some time left, and my commitment to the run was clearly having an effect. I effectively used the clock and punched it in with about 20 seconds remaining to retake the lead. Auburn missed on their hail marys, and Duke held on to win, 27-20.

Interesting game hosting Clemson. First drive they move down the field, but throw a pick around my 20 that I return for the TD. We get a few yards but have to punt, they end up fumbling but recovering an option pitch and have to punt, we get a few yards again and punt, they throw another pick-6 for an early 14-0 lead for us.

We can't get the passing game going at all, get a few decent runs but stuffed a bit, but our defense continues to play outstanding. We finally get a bit of blocking on a blitz and my QB hits the receiver in stride behind the defense, and he streaks for the endzone for a 21-0 lead. That's how we enter the half.

Second half, defense continues to play outstanding, offense gets moving a bit. We get down to the 3, stall, and kick a FG. Next drive we make it all the way, get up 31-0 in the fourth. They still can't move the ball, punt it away with around 40 seconds left, and we return the punt for a TD. Nothing in their last gasp, we win 38-0 over the #9 team.

And now the blasted thing is stuck on "Finalizing Dynasty Update". Everything else went through, that one step is stuck. I'll keep trying, but going to be really ticked if I lose this game, it was my first real "we belong in the top 10" victory all season...

Phew, third time was the charm. Plus we had a few recruits in the stands, if that didn't get them to sign, don't know what else will.

Apparently the voters thought highly of Clemson.

It was definitely good for recruiting, 3 nice targets signed.

We play our last game this coming week and then its the Big 12 Championship. It sucks our schedule has been so weak this year. Hopefully we can finish running the table and move up into the top of the ladder and next season will be a more rewarding one as far as SOS.

So, I may be #1 in the Coaches poll:

3 2 Rice 9-0 1522
4 4 South Florida 9-0 1468

I had some scares in the game against Louisville. My first drive ended in a strip-sack for a short field that Louisville turned into an early TD. I threw a stupid pick later (all on me), but otherwise had a good early game on offense and defense and got to a 21-7 lead.

They managed to get a receiver into the soft spot in the zone along the sidelines to get within 21-14. We lost our star CB to injury, started the game without our starting RB and lost his backup in the 3rd quarter, and lost a key LB in the second half. But we have good depth, and the third-string RB kept the ball moving, the QB kept hitting timely passes, and the defense continued to hammer their QB, and we won 31-14.

We totally outclassed ECU.

Had a really cool play develop. That I want to share.
So I put the 3rd string in as the game was getting out of hand. Only then did I remember my starting Star QB is also my 3rd string CB. As soon as I saw him on the field I wanted to get him out of the game, but since the play was starting I decided to control him to basically run away from the play. The end result was too good to pass up...

My QB stat line:
14/20 311yards 4 TD 0 Int 1 Tackle 1 TFL 1 Sack....

The media saw Duke beat a better group of Tigers (#7 Auburn) on the road last week.

At the end of it all, however, Rice or Duke will have to beat the other twice on consecutive weekends to truly be in the national title picture. That appears to be a tall task at the moment.

Not sure what to do here. I logged in to recruit and play my game. Recruiting went fine. I start my game and win the toss. I line up to kick and every single Florida Gator is huddled in front of the kicking tee. I thought that it might just be a weird graphical snafu and kicked off anyway. Nope. They blocked the kickoff. They'll have great field position, but it's hardly the end of the world. Except they're lining up with 4 QBs and 7 WRs. I pick a defense to see what's what. Same huddle of guys. You'd think that with 4 QBs someone would snap the ball, but no luck. But with 10 secs on the clock, I get flagged for offsides. Time to reboot.

Hard reboot, long story short, I lose the toss and have to receive. Same goofy huddle, but no one for Florida kicks, so the game never starts. I turned it off.

Anyone heard of this happening before? I'm going to go see if I can find a tube on the internets that can give me the answer.

When you downloaded, did you save? You can go into the Xbox dashboard and delete all your saves to force it to download again from the cloud. It may simply be a bad download.

I never save the download. But you are right -- it does sound like corrupt data worked its way in somewhere. I'll try deleting saves for this dynasty and see if that helps.

The game was bound and determined to give me a loss. Had two fumbles on kick returns, and 5 overall (a 6th was reversed). Battled through it, and eeked out a 41-37 win over LSU.

Nothing looks screwed up with their roster online. Can you check their roster in-game to see if it looks okay? The question is, is it something with your Xbox, or something with the game? A workaround may be an online super-sim. Or maybe sim one or two plays at the start of the game and see if it clears up?

When I tried to sim plays on the xbox, the kickoff went fine but it froze on the first play from scrimmage. Trying to supersim online has resulted in repeated "supersim error" messages. I think you'll just have to sim the week and we'll have to hope that I'm able to play a normal game next week. Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be my first loss.

Ugh. I really don't want to risk that becoming your first loss.

I'm gonna wait until tonight and try to sim just that game in game. And see if I can reject the result if you lose.

I'm gonna see if I can get someone to accept an invite to the league, take Florida, and either:

a) Reorder their depth chart to see if that fixes the problem
b) See if they can start a human vs. human game with Chesapeake and then quit.
