Iowa plays North Texas this weekend. We should go into our game with Wiscy 4-0. Good stuff. One game better than I thought we would be.

Great test for Mizzou on the road this weekend at Kentucky. Maty really needs a rebound week.

MATCH MADE IN DUMPSTER FIRE HEAVEN

If your idea of fun is watching trains collide, feast your eyes upon Rutgers-Kansas (34) on Saturday. The Scarlet Knights (1-2) are a complete mess – their coach and best player are suspended, they dismissed six players from the team earlier this month, and they’re coming off consecutive losses. And yet they’re favored by two touchdowns over the inept Jayhawks. Wow.

Kansas couldn’t win at home against South Dakota or Memphis, so now it takes its rickety show on the road – a place where the Jayhawks have lost 30 consecutive times. David Beaty, the fifth Kansas coach since 2009 (if you include 2014 interim Cliff Bowen) walked straight into quicksand taking this job. The only humane thing the school can do is give him a minimum of five years to dig out, because Year 1 stands a solid chance of ending 0-12.

Dash pick: Rutgers 2, Kansas 0.

Be careful, that non-walk on caliber player Laviano just led Rutgers to a successful 3 point showing on the road against PSU. Oh, and the RU defense allowed 300+ rushing yards. I actually would root for RU to lose if meant Flood would be canned. But alas, the person in charge of his fate is in even more hot water.

Whoops. Maty not making too many friends when he's battling a home state hero for the QB job......

Auburn switches QBs, to start Sean White over Johnson.

So now lemme see here ...
Bama & Auburn & Florida & South Carolina all with QB questions.
I guess Missouri goes on that list as well now?
Georgia had plenty of questions until last week (and, I predict, will have them again within a few weeks)
Ole Miss answered their questions with a transfer.

Roughly half the conference with uncertainty at the position, almost feels like "can anybody here play this game" going on at a lot of places, moreso than usual anyway.

Mizzou's real issue right now is that the entire staff knows they have the 'next great thing' in a freshman. They're getting him involved right away because they believe there is no doubt that this kid is a 3-and-done 1st round drafted player, so they're going ahead and playing him this year looking to have him as the starter possibly later this year and definitely in 2016 and 2017.

Maty Mauk just hasn't moved forward like he should. He's a tough kid with an attitude, but compared to the freshman, his arm and decision-making abilities just don't compare as well.

Oh I'm sure we could add in a bunch of others, I just kept it in one conference like that because that was how it struck me, that there's was a distinct trend underway that I could really spot.

I imagine it's mostly cyclical, just seeing it concentrated like that heightened my awareness.

Right. I was mentioning them because the Bucks have QB questions and they are pretty much the consensus numero uno. Cant remember a time where the top tiered teams of CFB have such question marks at QB. Unfortunately, I think A&M will be lumped into this soon.

Flood will get fired anyway, unless he finds some way to win 7 games, which isn't happening.

Dobbs just seems young to me. Good vision, cerebral with athleticism. He has the tools to be special ... whether he will be so consistently though {shrug} That's a matter of time to tell. He's certainly the most potential I've seen at the position in Knoxville in a couple decades.

Burying the lead there, Bug. Let me help.

Shit. We have some talent on defense and Jack could sometimes play out of control, but that's one heck of a loss, losing a Butkus award candidate.

Yeah they have not fair well in a long long time. I have a few season tickets for AFA home games and am looking forward to the Army game. Navy scares the crap out of me and we battle but Army though they battle they always seem to do something dumb to lose if it is close. I remember I think it was in 2013 they had scored a TD in the closing seconds and successful got the two point conversion to go up by one on a QB keeper. But, the QB taunted the Air force defenders with the ball and bam 15 yard penalty and by the rules the play was canceled out, ball pushed out 15 yards so they had no choice but to kick the extra point to get the tie and head into OT. The extra point was blocked and AF won by one point and retained the CIC trophy after beating Navy that year.

I saw a rumor he also got into a physical fight with Saban.

I'm sure once he is fired, he will then be hired as the Pats OC or something like that, cuz he only falls up.

Nah, we already have an ex-boy wonder OC who likes to throw it too much with the lead. Although ours at least appears to be a little bit humbled by his high-profile failure.

I remember when I commented on him and said he was horrible and the Mizzou fans told me I how great he was going to be. I actually watched some of the UConn vs Mizzou game last weekend and was shocked. Not that he sucked, I knew that, but the fact he hasn't developed even a little bit from the horror show I watched when I first saw him.

Don't snip at the fans when you suck Maty, it isn't good form. It's actually quite stupid.
