Noooooooooo!!!! I cannot get sucked in again!
Edit: nothing that really excites me... and in fact "new passing system" scares me, please don't make something you think is cool EA but in fact is really horribly awful bad.

Umm, excuse me.
I was told I could modify the players appearances, and there would be dreadlocks. Long, glorious dreadlocks. And they would be merry.

I'm interested to see how they change recruiting.

I think this is going to solidify me sticking with 12. There is NO chance they change the entire passing and defense system and get it right by, say, November - more likely 2014. And I love recruiting as it is, so I'm not all that interested in seeing it change.
These changes look promising to get right within the next couple versions. As for 13? I'll pass until the (other) fanboys do the beta testing for me while I play a dynasty on 12.

Me too, I was hoping they would streamline it a bit and it sounds like it may become more time intensive. Also wary of the new passing system. I think the current one is fine and the way the defense reacts needs to be toned down as normal physics make it near impossible for some of the things that still happen in pass coverage. I have never skipped a version, so I will probably be sucked in....again. But i am still playing 12 and enjoying it. |

Sounds like weak dynasty improvements. A new studio analyst doesn't interest me in the least. If they are taking information away from recruiting and forcing you to go find it that would actually be a good step for me though. Now if only they would throw a little more variety into the recruits themselves... I was basically recruiting the same players under different names over and over by the time I put '12 down.

Not buying into the hype. Happy with last year's NCAA-Madden combo. Would take something truly impressive for me to climb aboard this time. Dynasty would be the key. If it's not a true leap forward, I'll pass.

They're going to fuck up RTS I'm sure of that. It's going to be some "game-breaker moment" type slowdown so you can bust a big play or something.

Let's cover up the core gameplay and dynasty experience by adding more useless visual crap.
Have they learned nothing from declining sales? |

I have played over 18 seasons worth of games, and the only time I watched it was the first time. A few times I've let it run while I get a drink or go to the bathroom, but watch it? Once. As far as recruiting, if they make it more like an OOTP style scouting system, I will hate that. I don't want to spend more time really recruiting than playing. And I hate that kind of open-ended scouting style. I like recruiting the way it is right now.

EA is kinda stuck here ... for the past few years, I see a bunch of comments like "immersion sucks, why can't it have better commentary and cooler things out of game, like NFL 2k5". Then, when EA announces just that (better commentary, more immersion", people are complaining about that too.
Seems like a no-win situation for EA.

Why don't they try to fix what is there now? I'm not sure how many of you guys have tried to use this but it is a defective POS. Half the time I can't even login because it says I'm not in the league or not in a league when I am. For the last 2 months I have not even been able to use the recruiting because it pulls up some other random teams Recruiting Board. Not that I would want to recruit on line anyway because it is so unstable that it is too risky because you will lose your minutes and not be able to call the player after the website dumps you. NCAA 12 ended up being OK, I still play in my OD and would like to play more but don't have the time. I just wish they would take 1 cycle and focus on fixing + improving what they already have. |

That's what EA does. Come out with a feature that doesn't work and let it sit there. All they care about is what they can put on the back cover to sell copies. I'd love a fully functional OD that I can run with friends that isn't a buggy POS. That will never happen though. Sad considering the advances in online play. |

Yup, the original site for NCAA 12 was at least usable, although doing recruiting there meant the weekly status e-mails had all recruits from the whole season, not just the latest week's signings. Then they put a new one in place, and now I see recruits from other teams. Can't do any recruiting at all anymore.
Plus when I tried to create stories to go with game results, it bleeped out like every fifth word, so I gave up with that. All I use it for now is to check in on who still needs to do their week so we can progress.

Well, The Ladder dynasty we're running here is going pretty well, at least in the game. It's the website that has become non-functional with the last "upgrade".

Yep. The new website is superior in terms of tracking who is done, but otherwise, not so great.

First post on the "What you'd like to see in 2013 schreenshots thread" on OS: 1. Improved player models - Not everyone has the same muscle definition, a muscle definition slider in player edit would be much appreciated. Also fix the shoulder pads they just don't look right, and fix the sleeves to match what real players sleeves actually look like. 2. Multiple dread lengths - Hopefully a slider for this too so it is fully customizable. 3. Medium/High socks that come to just below the knee, and GET RID of low socks, or at LEAST make medium the default, for crying out loud. 4. Proof of new animations 5. Signs of better footplanting instead of the "floating" of the past few years. Make the players feel like part of the damn field! 6. Improved helmet models - Almost all of these look dumb and they need to switch to what madden has done with helmets the last few years. ESPECIALLY the revolutions. Most of the helmets just don't fit right in general. 7. Improved sidelines player models would be nice And you wonder why they gloss over core gameplay?

Dreadlock Sliders FTW!
From now on, please include these when you post your sliders.

Could you maybe throw an EA into the title? I thought this thread was about college football and decided to skip the traditional double fisted Missouri masturbation.

I've been kicking around different ideas for conference alignments. Here's my regional promotion-relegation league idea. There are 4 regional pods headed by the Big Ten, Big 12, PAC, and SEC. Champions from the lower conferences move up, bottom feeders from the upper conferences move down. I've replaced a few teams with IHOF teams to help balance out the regions/add in a little flavor for myself. The initial rankings are based on Lindy's preseason rankings.
