Wow, is my defense terrible. We barely survived Ball State, 49-48. I just could not stop them, and nobody could tackle to save their life. Luckily Zach Longshore had a big day, running for over 200 yards and 4 TDs. We're going to need to get a lot less sloppy if we want to avoid some ugly losses in the Big Ten schedule. Can't wait for my starting QB to get healthy. My backups just ain't cutting it.

Kodos, you're gonna have a heart attack before we even play. Those games you've had lately sound intense.

We beat Illinois 31-21. We were up 21-0 near the end of the third but put some backups in on D and got burnt. Game was never in doubt, but we couldn't stop their pass rush.
Still, a decent win vs a decent team. |

After I threw a pick late in my own territory, and already down by a field goal, I thought I was gonna lose. But the defense held them to a field goal, and Scott Allen had a long TD reception to put us up 49-48. During the run to the goal line, I thought about getting tackled at the one and then burning some clock before punching it in, since my defense was so bad, and 50 seconds seemed like a long time. Luckily, we were able to keep them out of field goal range. Although that was due to a drop on their part. Nothing my crappy defense caused... |

Penn State travelled to Ohio State to face off against the 99 accross the board Buckeyes.
We thrashed em. Final score 65-21 Heisman front runner Zach Wright pulled down 13 passes for 280 yards and 3 TD's.

I'm guessing I was rusty as Corp threw 4 picks doubling his total for the year. Fortunately, the defense played very well and McKnight had a big game with 204 yards and 4 TD's on 25 carries. We beat Arizona 35-6.
Only 3 more people left this week.

We took care of Vanderbilt 49-14. Our star halfback Brett Thomas proved to be a dangerous threat both on the ground and through the air.

I'll be playing my game vs FSU tonight. I doubt I have a chance in hell at winning this one.

Puked it up against Colorado. Offense struggled, too many turnovers. I had one of those games where I just tried to do too much. Defense still sucks. Ugh. Just a poorly played game.

Chief, you'd better play better than that if you're gunna smoke Kingsneb and his top ranked Kentucky "I only play against CPU teams" Wildcats.

We did better than I expected, scoring 21 points in the final 3 minutes of the first half with the help of 2 interceptions. We led 24-14 at the half. Florida State scored 21 straight in the 2nd half though, before we finally broke through with another TD with 3 minutes to go. We made a 2 point conversion and trailed 35-32. We were able to force a punt and began driving down field. We got near field goal range, down to the FSU 35 with ~40 seconds to go, but FSU's speedy defense came through at the end, sacking us twice and forcing us into 4th and long well outside FG range. We couldn't convert and fall by 3.

The beast is back!
The beast being Clemson's defense. We beat Wake Forest 35-7, with their only score coming on a kickoff return with 2 minutes left to play. Just a satisfying victory. It feels nice to be shutting teams down again after the Michigan debacle.

That was the only thing going through my mind during the game. I was hoping the RFL game would be a tuneup for the NOFL title game but I was clearly distracted then got frustrated and out of my game plan. It helped me focus a bit more on the Kentucky game but it didn't help.

I may not be able to play tonight (see thread in the main FOFC area for what's going on in my life). I'd appreciate an extra 24 hours, but sim without me if need be.

We can wait, Foz. Real life takes priority over fake football.
Strangely enough, I will be gone from the 11th until the 17th because I will be flying to NC to be with my mother, who is having a cyst (and the part of her skull that it is attached to) removed on the 13th. So our situations have a little bit in common. She was going to get the titanium plate too, but they decided to take some bone from somewhere else in her body instead. I hope your mom's procedure goes well. Any good thoughts about my mother's procedure would be appreciated too. |
