I'm a bit torn. Part of me wants to basically have this be a continuation of the Ladder, and part would be okay if it was year 1 of a new league (with the five carryover players from each team). What do you guys think?

Whatever works is good IMO. I've been meaning to get in and get set up but we're trying to secure a home loan at the moment and days have been kind of full of digging up files and paperwork and filling out stuff and going to appointments.

We are hoping to find out tomorrow if we get the place.. It'll be a pretty incredible moment if it happens. Almost 40, finally getting a place of our own to live in would feel like the culmination of a lot of time and effort and patience.

Thanks guys, it feels pretty good.. We tried to buy about 7 years ago, but at that time we had no credit.. So over the last 7 years we have slowly worked our way toward building that and I'll be damned if it didn't work out this time. We're doing surprisingly well for a couple of front desk workers at a Microtel.

I'll post pics when we get things all hammered out and finished up.

Kodos,

I have accepted the invite and setup the coach. Still working on the recruiting. Something is odd with the team background on the interface. It is a weird red on red. I thought you could import the normal team template for the existing teams. Is that not the case?

I did pull up the team in practice and the unis looked right for "red" home and the away. Hopefully there is a "blue" home jersey as an alternate.

Hi Gramm. I think that happened because I made red the secondary color and blue the primary. Seems like they could avoid that by just going with white backgrounds.

The blue jerseys are your alternate home jersey. I don't see Ole Miss on TV much, so I googled them, and the red jerseys seemed more prevalent, so I made those your regular home jersey. Sorry if I screwed that up.

Arrow Week 1 - Deadline is Fri (6/1) at 11 p.m. ET

After the longest offseason in league history, the regular season has begun! Good luck, boys!

Week 1

#25 Vanderbilt at Rapid City State
Nevada at USC
Ole Miss at South Alabama

Just as a reminder, quarters are now 7 minutes long, and fatigue is off. Sliders are otherwise the same.

I accidently loaded the wrong playbook for this game.

I was also rusty.

Still, USC beat down Nevada 70-14.

Ole Miss routed South Alabama 77 – 6. Not sure yet on the stamina impact. South Alabama was rated something like 20 points lower than Ole Miss. But it seemed pretty easy to not have your QB or RB get gassed. We will have to see how it feels with more evenly matched teams.

The biggest impact of our rule changes will be in recruiting. Not sure how to go head to head with a school that can drop 700 points versus your 500 point max.

Personally, I found no fatigue just made it easier to run at will with my star QB and my star WR.

Yep. I'm thinking the coaching points limit and the athlete ban should help keep human teams in check a bit. I hope we won't be able to have absolutely loaded teams like we used to have. (I also made the head coach of each team's main rival an elite recruiter and added a couple of superstars to their rosters.) I don't remember the last time I lost to a CPU team in the Ladder.

We'll see how the no fatigue thing goes for a season. If it turns out to be bad, we'll go back to fatigue on next season. It can't really be worse than the old way. Quarters that are a minute shorter should help keep our offenses in check a little too.

Ok, so I tried to get my game in, and with 3 minutes left in the 4th my xbox couldn't take it anymore. Not sure if I will be able to get a game in any time soon as a result of the damn power brick sucking. Why is it so damn hard to find a quality power brick for the 360? I've been through 2 now and I guess I will be getting a 3rd.

Go ahead and sim my game if you want, I'll keep recruiting while I wait for the new brick.

Our first game in the new setup at Ohio University got off to a poor start. Just a minute into the game, we gave up a scoop-and-score when our junior QB Zach Martin was hit as he rolled out to try to find a receiver in the flat. On our next drive, Martin fumbled again, setting up senior RB Jerome Mendoza's first score of the day from 12 yards out. With less than three minutes gone, we were down 14-0.

Zach Martin took to the air and led us down the field, and found Anthony Glover from one yard out to cut it to a 14-7 Ohio advantage with 2:20 left. Then came another gut punch, as Mendoza broke through the line and was never touched on his way to a 75-yard TD run. Zach Martin once again marched us down the field for a score to end the first quarter, which finished with Ohio out front, 21-14.

In the second quarter, senior RB Troy McKinney ran one in from 38 yards out and Glover pulled in his second TD grab of the day, as we evened things up at 28 all.

The third quarter saw each team score once, sending us into the 4th quarter tied at 35-35.

A 19-yard Ohio field goal put them up once more, 38-35, but we answered with a long drive that culminated in a 6-yard run by Marque Coley with 4:35 remaining that put us back on top, 42-38. Our defense was able to get a stop, and Anthony Glover's fourth TD of the day with 40 seconds left sealed the hard fought win for Indiana. Whew! Tough game. Their RB Mendoza tore us up all game, breaking tackle after tackle on his way to 201 yards and 2 TDs on 24 carries.

Zach Martin finished 25/31 for 337 yards and 4 TDs.

Troy McKinney ran 29 times for 178 yards and 2 TDs.

Anthony Glover caught 11 passes for 125 yards ad 4 TDs.

TE JD Slaughter caught 10 passes for 165 yards.

Glad we won.. I was up 63-10 when the xbox shut off on me, but I'll take a win any way I can get it I guess. Should have the new brick before my week 3 game too, so that's good.

It's crazy though, I built an apparatus so that my current brick could hang in mid air and not touch anything, then I had a fan blowing on it to help disperse the heat.. But it still overheated. I even have the game installed to the HDD so the disc drive isn't even being used, but that doesn't help either. I wonder if adding heat sinks to the outside of the new brick will help extend the life of it.

USC had a very slow 1st half and an amazing 2nd half to destroy SDSU. Pete Carroll is now level 11 (but not using our points.)

We are all set to advance.
