FOFC Favorite Rock Act - Round 4 Group B
Half of the sweet 16 is set and this round presents two very intriguing matchups in AC/DC vs. Skynyrd and Elvis vs. The Eagles.

That was tough.
Nirvana v. Red Hot Chili Peppers was difficult. Im not a grunge guy. But I really dont like newer Red Hot Chili Pepper stuff.

U2 has gotten a lot of hate through this, but they keep winning, ugh.

It had to take a hard rock band from Australia to finally topple another Confederate monument.
Happy to see that I am in the majority on all these matchups, hadn't happened all that much so far. |

Had to push on CCR v. The Beach Boys. Literally could not decide which one I liked better.

I've voted for RHCP every round, and I don't even like them all that much. They've just been matched up against a bunch of meh opponents.

It's ironic that in this contest, Nirvana just won't die...
...what, too soon?

It's a shame Nirvana didn't hang around long enough to make shitty later-period albums like RHCP have. I give RHCP some props for re-inventing themselves a few times with some great later period stuff though, but the last couple of albums I haven't spun more than once.
Semi-unrelated, but I was watching a primetime slot travel show on Aussie TV last year with a segment on Peru, and I killed myself laughing because they had RHCP's song 'Cabron' playing in the background the whole time.

Went with a lot of underdogs this time. Never a big Eagles fan, so Elvis got the nod there. Police and Pearl Jam are favorites for me. Tom Petty was my big one. Just like his stuff through the years.
But others seemed obvious. AC/DC was an easy one and Nirvana had the bigger impact on creating a genre than RHCP. |
